Obama: ‘Help Us Destroy Jesus and Start a New Age of Liberal Darkness’

Evil cackling president vows to “end traditional marriage as we know it”
Humor • Views: 46,258

This is how you satirize the religious right: Obama: ‘Help Us Destroy Jesus and Start a New Age of Liberal Darkness’.

CHARLOTTE, NC—With the savage roar of the heathen Democratic horde rising all around him, President Barack Obama delivered an incendiary speech to close his party’s national convention Thursday night, commanding the ultraprogressive minions in attendance to help him “destroy Jesus and usher in a new age of liberal darkness that shall reign o’er the earth for a thousand years.”

The thunderous 45-minute address—during which the president argued for a second term so that he could “finally kill Jesus once and for all, as well as all those who worship him”—was well received by the frenzied, wild-eyed audience, whose piercing chants of “Four more years!” and “Slaughter the believers!” echoed throughout the Time Warner Cable Arena.

“My fellow Americans and godless infidels, I command you to join me as we cast an endless pall of far-left evil across the hills and valleys of our nation!” Obama bellowed from the stage, as thousands in attendance moaned in compliance and gyrated their hips and groins in a lascivious dance. “Together, as a barbarian people forged by the wicked flames of irreligiosity and united by visions of a liberal dystopia, we will rise up as one to scorch the earth with boundless amorality.”

“The streets shall run red with the blood of forced sodomy, performed daily upon every American man, woman, and child!” the commander-in-chief shouted, froth forming around his mouth as the crowd threw hundreds of aborted fetuses onto the stage. “Die, Christians, die!”

Slamming his fists on the lectern until his hands began to bleed, Obama proceeded to lay out a “three-point plan of sin and lechery” for his second term. If reelected, the president said, he would begin by banning organized religion entirely—starting with Christianity—and burning all churches to the ground, preferably “with their wretched, Jesus-loving congregants still huddled inside like rats.”

As members of the audience violently tugged at their genitals and howled like sex-starved, atheist wolves, Obama stated that his administration would then seek to make free, taxpayer-funded abortions legal at any stage of pregnancy, even up to one full year after birth, in order to supply his newly created “federal stem-cell harvesting plants” with raw materials

A+++ for creativity!

One of the greatest things I ever saw was a profile of Jeff Bridges on PBS where he goes to a Lebowski themed store and everything. Apparently, when he first read the script for The Big Lebowski his initial reaction was that the Coen brothers had been talking to people he knew to get insight into his personality. They just seemed to nail him down that well.

In a pinch, when you cannot make Real Dark Chocolate Cookies, you can make Hot Cakes With Warm Semi Sweet Moist Dark Chocolate Chips Liberally Sprinkled on Top. Make batter of choice. Pour out cakes on hot griddle. Sprinkle Dark Chocolate Semi Sweet Morsels (a little more than you think you need) on top. As soon as the bottom firms up, flip the cakes. Stare at pan. Watch edges. Done. Throw on plate and drizzle caramel or Hersheys or maple or table syrup or whatever you got sitting around on top. Throw back head. laugh hysterically. Enjoy.

Think about the optics of the two conventions. Specifically the crowds therein. Republicans had people who looked like a pretty homogeneous. Democrats, OTOH, looked like they had about every type of American imaginable.

Unless you live inside a country club, which group more closely resembles your town? And, more importantly, which group most closely resembles the nation as a whole?

Republicans imagine that they will soon enough appeal to those diverse groups that aren't white, straight, religious, etc. But their conflation of overt religiosity and Randian, Wild West, "every man is an island" philosophy has limited appeal. It's a peculiarly Eurocentric and American attitude, not shared by many outside the white Christians, particularly men, who have dominated the Right's discourse in the past and today.

OT:

In case you aren't aware of this story, a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens named Brendon Ayanbadejo, has been rather vocal about his support for gay marriage, citing fairness and equal protection under the law, which allowed his mom and dad, a bi-racial couple, to wed.

In response, a Maryland Delegate, Emmett Burns, Jr., sent a letter to Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti telling him to muzzle his employee. Mr. Burns (eggsellent!) is a black Democrat from Baltimore who, when not writing snot-grams to NFL team owners, is the pastor of the Rising Sun Baptist Church.

Here is the response from Chris Kluwe, punter for the Minnesota Vikings. He's straight, married, and the father of two gorgeous kids. I laughed my ass off. Enjoy!

I wonder if there's some sort of link with the word, actually, now that I think of it. Wouldn't put it past Wells.

No, "Elohim" is one of the words/name used for God in the Hebrew scriptures. It's plural grammatically, although treated as singular. "El" is both the name of an ancient Levantine deity and the generic word in Hebrew for a god--yours, other people's, whoever's. You see it as a root in names a lot--Daniel, Gabriel, Ariel, Yerachmiel... "Allah" is from the same root, travelled off in a slightly different linguistic direction.

Possibly it's more than that, and a window into the guy. Not that he doesn't "care" about the "troops" (which is sort of like a religion these days), but about what really makes Romney tick.

IOW, his idea of being President really is that the job calls for a CEO. Witness his "gaffe" a few days earlier in referring to the US as a "company". He doesn't seem to have at the front of his mind that being President is, in some significant part, a ceremonial role. Other countries often have two heads - a head of state and a head of the government, so one (usually with less, to much less, actual power) does ceremonial duties, and the other actually runs the machinery of governance.

Here in the US, though, the President has to do both jobs. And as part of the ceremonial role the President has to keep in mind that he must continually uplift the moral of the members of the military. Obama caught on to this quickly, but Romney seems tone deaf to the idea.

Romney doesn't embrace, maybe doesn't even understand, the ceremonial role for which he is applying.

It must be different in California. Here in Illinois a bank needs to have someone from the sheriff's office serve papers prior to a bank's crew going in. It's not all that much, but at least it would have provided the process process with an extra couple pairs of eyes; Eyes which might have caught the faulty paperwork and thus kept this whole mess from happening.

Marge Piercy wrote a poem about zucchini:

Attack of the Squash People

And thus the people every year
in the valley of humid July
did sacrifice themselves
to the long green phallic god
and eat and eat and eat.
They're coming, they're on us,
the long striped gourds, the silky
babies, the hairy adolescents,
the lumpy vast adults
like the trunks of green elephants.
Recite fifty zucchini recipes!

Zucchini tempura; creamed soup;
sauté with olive oil and cumin,
tomatoes, onion; frittata;
casserole of lamb; baked
topped with cheese; marinated;
stuffed; stewed; driven
through the heart like a stake.

Get rid of old friends: they too
have gardens and full trunks.
Look for newcomers: befriend
them in the post office, unload
on them and run. Stop tourists
in the street. Take truckloads
to Boston. Give to your Red Cross.
Beg on the highway: please
take my zucchini, I have a crippled
mother at home with heartburn.

Sneak out before dawn to drop
them in other people's gardens,
in baby buggies at churchdoors.
Shot, smuggling zucchini into
mailboxes, a federal offense.

With a suave reptilian glitter
you bask among your raspy
fronds sudden and huge as
alligators. You give and give
too much, like summer days
limp with heat, thunderstorms
bursting their bags on our heads,
as we salt and freeze and pickle
for the too little to come.

I lived above a missionary apartment for close to 6 years. They were all different. In general very outgoing kids. Some were quiet. Other were loud. Some cursed and played pool. Others drank and watched TV under a blanket out on the patio deck.

I ran into an old friend from college, about ten years back. Her grandmother was trying to get her to go on mission because "It's not just for homely girls anymore."

Do I want to know what a 'goat incident with the washing machine' is?

We used to have some Arab college kids living next door. They mostly lived on beer and pizza, and had girls in and out at weird hours, but during Ramadan they would get a pious fit, and I would hear them praying in the early morning while I was fixing breakfast.

Your cake topper from your wedding.

Tangent:

Up until March 2008, it was illegal to sell "dildos" in Texas. The "selling, giving, lending, distributing, or advertising" of such an "obscene device" was a crime. Owning one was also against the law, but enforcement was generally reserved for those who owned six or more dildos, because owning that many obviously indicated intent to distribute, and as such as a for-real, no-shit, fucking-felony in Texas. With for-real, no-shit penalties attached to it. A clerk at a sex shop who sold a silicone replica of Ron Jeremy's wang to an undercover cop could end up having her life ruined by becoming a registered sex offender.

Watch this for some background (and some great Molly Ivins lulz):

ANYWAY: the only reason I brought this up is because for the longest time, sex shops in Texas ice-skated the letter of the law by selling "dildos" as "CAKE TOPPERS".

so, my plan was to get to bed early for a friday night so i can get the car in the shop early saturnday. and i didn't get to have dinner with this nice woman after all. i'm so lonely since the divorce

anyway, a friend told me about a band playing at first friday tonight that was asking for horn players tonight, so i took my saxophone on down to this monthly ginormous street party we have here in oakland these days, feeling all the more lonely for the teeming throng of happy partiers

so anyway playing with the funk band was really great, some friends came around, and we shut down at eleven so i headed home

and then i ran into this cute young woman in the street playing the guitar, and i took my horn back out and we had a nice time playing and talking and fooling around, which is really nice but hopeless as a relationship since i'm literally more than twice her age, but it's nice to meet people and hang out and have fun

and then we said goodbye and it was like 2:45am

On Friday, Canada said it is closing its embassy in Tehran and expelling all Iranian diplomats from Canada. Foreign Minister John Baird said Ottawa "views the government of Iran as the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today."

Rape victim kills attacker to save face

ANKARA, Turkey, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- A Turkish woman is awaiting trial for the alleged honor killing of a man she says raped her repeatedly for months and fathered her unborn child.

The woman, Nevin Yildirim, 26, said her attacker, Nurettin Gider, first assaulted her at gunpoint days after her husband left home for seasonal work in another town. Over the next eight months, the woman said she was raped repeatedly in their small southwest Turkey village and became pregnant. The woman said Gider took illicit pictures of her pregnant and threatened to publish them if she disobeyed him.

CNN reported the woman said one day she'd had enough, took her father-in-law's rifle and shot her rapist as he tried to enter her home. The man tried to draw his gun and she shot him again. She then shot his penis and cut off his head.

She carried the decapitated head into town and told a group of men sitting at a coffee shop in the village square, "Don't talk behind my back, don't play with my honor. Here is the head of the man who played with my honor."

The woman said she killed the man so her children wouldn't be scorned, CNN reported.

"Now no one can call my children bastards," she said. "I cleaned my honor. Everyone will call them the children of the woman who cleaned her honor."

Report: Suspect in Fast and Furious killing arrested in Mexico

Mexican authorities said Friday that they had arrested a suspect in the killing of U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, whose death sparked an investigation into a botched Justice Department gun-tracking operation.

Jesus Leonel Sanchez Meza, one of five men charged with killing Terry in December 2010, was arrested in Sonora state, the Associated Press first reported.

A weapon found at Terry's murder scene was linked to the DOJ's Fast and Furious operation which sought to track gun sales to Mexican drug gangs.

...Three other suspects in the death of Terry are still at large and a fourth is in custody. The five suspects including Meza all face murder charges.

Honestly though, its what she had to do to prevent the sort of hostile talk that leads to an "honor killing". The point of her actions was not only to kill her rapist, but to do so in such a way as to deter hostile talk. As has been shown many times in history, the best way to accomplish that goal is to kill the malefactor publicly and brutally, in order to clearly show that you are not to be trifled with.

If this had happened in the US, I'd call her chasing her rapist down murder, but given the nature of the society she is in I instead call it self-defense.

Iran claims Zionists are spreading homosexuality to control world

Qom - A state-controlled newspaper in Iran is claiming Israel and the "Zionist regime" are spreading homosexuality around the world to achieve its goal of "world domination."

The Jerusalem Post quotes Mashregh News saying the US and UK are getting cash from Jews to spread homosexuality across the globe and criticizing Israel for promoting gay rights demonstrations. The paper also called Tel Aviv, "gay paradise on earth." The article is calling on Western governments to stop people from engaging in immoral gay behavior and to provide medical treatment to homosexuals to get them to stop.

The "special report", in the radical Islamist paper, also attacked Hollywood for depicting gays in a positive light and blames a Jewish University recommendation for California schools deciding to include homosexuality in their education plans.

At least they are safe because there aren't any homosexuals in Iran. Dinnerjacket told us so!

Menlo protest over imprisoning Bradley Manning

Shaunn Cartwright, left, and Joseph Rosas protested in Menlo Park on Thursday, Sept. 6, over the imprisonment of U.S. Army Private Bradley Manning. Pvt. Manning is being held at Fort Leavenworth federal prison in Kansas on accusations of having turned over thousands of secret government documents to the whistleblower website WikiLeaks in 2010.

About 25 people from Occupy San Jose and Peninsula Direct Action showed up for the two-hour protest at 350 El Camino Real in Menlo Park. The office there is not affiliated with the Democratic Party but established by and for volunteers who support Democratic Party causes, office manager Mike Aydelott told the Almanac.

A spokesman for the Bradley Manning Support Network said similar protests had been planned for "dozens of cities across the U.S." on the last day of the Democratic National Convention.

I like the "Manning 2012" sign. The radical left is pretty bummed about the pro-israel/pro military tone on the last night of the DNC but I don't see this as a significant shift. I do think there's an interesting debate to be had in there somewhere. Although the moonbats are way off base (as always) it does appear to have been a kill mission. Much like the drone strikes it might be a technical grey area in international law.

Evil maniac Brian Kessler makes the case for his radical fact based agenda...

Two conventions, in parallel narrative and philosophical universes

Increasingly, the most important races are the primaries, the preserve of the party faithful, not the general election votes. That means members are more likely to represent the left and right wings of the parties, with fewer and fewer centrists becoming lawmakers.

If the two sides cannot even agree on the basic facts, then it becomes difficult to understand how they ever could reach agreement on the key issues that face the nation — such as strengthening the finances of the entitlement programs created many decades ago with bipartisan support that would be unimaginable today.

Mornin' everyone...

I'm sorry, but I have come to realize that "FUCK YOU MITT ROMNEY" is too gentle a response to his response to his ignoring the troops in his acceptance speech. Sure, we've all heard the "You talk about things that are important" part of Romney's response when questioned by Brett Fucking Baier of Fox News about it, but it was his response before that that really got my hackles up just now.

Baier:Do you regret opening up this line of attack, now a recurring attack, by leaving out that issue in the speech?

Romney: I only regret you repeating it day in and day out. (LAUGHS)

WHAT THE FREAKING FUCK?

Here's a great article where Romney's stupidity is dissected.

Let's pick our jaws off the floor and review the three arguments that Romney employed here, to counter the charge of insensitivity to the troops at war by omitting them in his big speech.

1) I would have gotten away with it if you would all just shut up about it.

2) It was a conscious decision that the troops at war are not important.

3) I consider soldiers to be no different than any other military asset.

I'm flabbergasted.

Flabbergasted...yeah. Me too. Holy baby-Christ Fuck. That first response is what really pisses the fuck out of me.

Anyway, Happy Saturday...I think I'll take the boys to the beach after I read your morning pleasantries...then it's off to see the Giants-Dodgers game.

The difference being that you aren't going to find any of the left wing nutbars in Congress or being supported by a politically active majority or having any kind of influence or power. The media attention they get makes them look stupid,it's certainly doesn't convince anyone to join their cause of the week.

I've been liberal my whole life,I'm not ashamed of that. And yes,we have some major dipshits on our team. But I can't recall a time when the nuts were in any place of power. They make lots of noise sometimes, but they really don't get that far.

On the right though, you've got tea partiers/right wing nutbars in several levels of government, from local to federal. I don't know why that is,but it seems like the left does a bit better job of keeping the crazy relatives out of places where they do real harm.

I've eaten probably a half pound of magic mushrooms in my life time (someone gave me a 1 gallon bag full of them in college and I spent the whole summer tripping--fuck that was fun...wake up, smoke a bowl, eat a couple of caps and stems, and head out to see the day, go to work, etc.) and I've never ripped anyone's heart out. That's a bullshit excuse.

It's a sign of disrespect to ordinary law abiding citizens that consume magic mushrooms daily and without incident! This calls for a strongly worded letter to the editors!

Ryan: Don't interfere with legalized medical pot

Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan says the federal government shouldn't interfere with states that have legalized medical marijuana.

The Wisconsin congressman tells KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs that he personally doesn't approve of medical marijuana laws. But he says that states should have the right to choose whether to legalize the drug for medical purposes.

In response to a reporter's question, Ryan said: "It's up to Coloradans to decide."

What an idiot. Last paragraph:

But those distinctions aside, like Miss Fluke Miss Montez briefly wielded an influence entirely disproportionate to her talents. Like Miss Fluke, she was a passionate liberal activist who sought to diminish what she regarded as the malign influence of the Catholic Church. Taking up with Lola cost King Ludwig his throne in the revolutions of 1848. We’ll see in a couple of months whether taking up with Sandra works out for King Barack. But what’s strange is that so many people don’t find it strange at all — that at a critical moment in the affairs of the republic the ruling party should assemble to listen to a complacent 31-year-old child of privilege peddling the lazy cobwebbed assumptions of myopic narcissism. Lola Montez was what botanists would call a “sport” — morphologically distinct from the rest of the societal shrub. The tragedy for America is that Sandra Fluke is all too typical.

361 Gus  Sat, Sep 8, 2012 9:32:40am

Or this line:

And, in fairness to Miss Montez, she used sex to argue for liberalized government, whereas Miss Fluke uses liberalism to argue for sexualized government.

Because in even history--

woman that talks about sex frankly = whore = free-roaming vagina untempered by proper manly ownership = dumb slut that can't keep her mouth shut = whoreslutwhore

Also stupid: glossing over everything else wrong with Ludwig I to focus on the courtesan he hung out with, and everything going on in the European context.

Steve King Nabs Mitt Romney Endorsement, Obama Campaign Pounces

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), a conservative firebrand known for taking controversial positions on a variety of issues, picked up an endorsement from GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Friday, a move that drew a quick response from an Obama campaign seeking to paint its opponent as an advocate for antiquated policies.

Speaking at a campaign event in King's 5th Congressional District, Romney excitedly expressed his support for the 5-term congressman.

"I'm looking here at Steve King," Romney said, according to BuzzFeed. "He needs to be your Congressman again. I want him as my partner in Washington!"

Firebrand Steve King tells Siouxland not to doubt Romney’s faith in Jesus

Orange City, Ia. – Using his cache of credibility with Christian conservatives, Republican firebrand Steve King reassured voters here that when Mitt Romney needs to make the tough decisions if elected president, he will pray to Jesus.

“Don’t doubt this man’s faith. Don’t doubt his convictions,” King, an Iowa congressman who is unflaggingly popular in this deeply religious and Republican corner of the state, said at a Romney campaign rally Friday.

“Do not doubt his patriotism or his faith and his love for Jesus Christ our savior,” he told a crowd of about 2,600 in basketball gym at Northwestern College, a site where now-first lady Michelle Obama campaigned in 2008.

Most world religion books are college level textbooks. Huge tomes which can be pretty pricey. Although I don't have a copy myself, this looks like a good, brief and easy to understand pocket reference type book: World Religions: The Great Faiths Explored & Explained [

Taking a refreshing new approach to understanding different faiths, World Religions looks at the beliefs and practices of many different religions, including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism and Islam.

re: #400 A Mom Anon

Since we're in an OT mode, can anyone recommend a book that gives an easy to understand overview of the major religions?

We're not religious or even what you'd call spiritual around here, but my son asks questions sometimes and I often don't know the answers about faiths I'm unfamiliar with. I can really only answer stuff about Christianity because that's what I know. When my daughter was growing up she went to different churches,a mosque and a Jewish temple because her friends invited her and I encouraged her to go. The boy child hasn't had that,so I don't know where to refer him when he asks.

If you want a good book that explores Judaism, Christianity and Islam, I'd recommend A History of God by Karen Armstrong. I read it some time back and thought it was pretty good.

I'm a very committed atheist but I do love religion and even eventually discovered a sense of "spirituality". If nothing else, It's very important to have an understanding of religion to appreciate art, music, books and movies better. The arts are loaded with religious symbols and references that even religious people often don't notice.

...and they're still pretending that Sandra Fluke wasn't talking about a friend's medical needs. It's very important that maintain that pretense, because they don't have a good argument about what Fluke was actually saying about contraception.

Also stupid: glossing over everything else wrong with Ludwig I to focus on the courtesan he hung out with, and everything going on in the European context.

Well, I don't know who did the handing, aside from the Egyptian voters, but the Mooslem Bruddahood is indeed now calling the shots in Egypt. However, Morsi's government has so far been working fairly well with Israel on responding to the mess the Sinai has become. In my arrogance:

Charles, if I can make a few of suggestions for the forum front page. When I first open the page there are ads along the right hand side that push the LGF Pages below the bottom horizon. A new viewer would jump to the conclusion LGF is just another blog rather than what it has become (IMHO, a Twitter Integrated Information and Research Centre). After I log in, because I have subscribed to LGF, the ads disappear allowing the LGF Pages to be seen immediately. This makes a huge difference in the image LGF presents.

Because of the number of well researched and topical articles posted, I think LGF should be viewed as more than just a blog. Allowing new viewers to see those articles immediately would help with that.

My suggestions are:
Reduce the size of the Twitter and Facebook follow icons and place them on the right hand side of the LGF header.
Move the ads to the left side of your front page above the member login. A member of LGF will know where the login is.
Move the 'Show top rated Pages' link to a button just above the LGF Pages button.
Use that space for the Register, Subscribe, Donate, and Amazon buttons.
Allow the number of page tweets to influence the move from recent to featured pages.

Prison issues they'll have to take into account, if he is actually trans and they believe that may become an issue. Or not. I don't know to what extent military courts give a damn about that.

As a bookend to Salon inexplicably publishing a ridiculous argument asserting that Mitt Romney is a harmless moderate who if anything is more liberal than Barack Obama, the man who made the Iraq War, massive upper-class tax cuts and Sam Alito possible is back to lecture us with arguments that make Stoller’s look rational (along with some of the same ones.) I always find Nader’s attempts to explain himself after he decided to ruin his admirable legacy by becoming a cat’s paw for the Republican Party entertaining. You might think that he would have some very sophisticated justifications that would fool you if you didn’t think about them too hard.  But in the same was that he was “the house radical of his own campaign” — denouncing followers who wanted to express dissatisfaction with the Democrats without throwing the election to Bush by encouraging vote-trades with voters in swing states — when explaining his unambiguous role in throwing the 2000 election to Bush he actually repeats the same transparently inane non-sequiturs of his most clueless defenders:

- Rush said watching Obama's speech made him sick to his stomach. Even crazier than that, a caller to the show said he had to take Maalox before sitting down to watch it. Good grief.

- Rush said Obama's choice of intro music ("Won't back down"/Tom Petty) was one of the weirdest things he's ever seen at a convention before.

- He was apparently having one hell of a time comparing sound bites of Obama to soundbites of Jimmy Carter

- A discussion on Obama stating in his speech "I am the President" as if the unspoken rest of the statement was: "And the rest of you don't matter."

The gender segregation in mosques serves two basic purposes:

1.) Before & after the prayer to provide the women with a private place where they can remove their headscarves, breastfeed, chat, etc.

2.) The women's area is typically either behind or above the men's area. The reasoning is that it would be uncomfortable for the women and distracting for the men if they were in mixed company or if the women were in front of the men (because the prostration requires bending over, posterior in the air ;)).

Savage was in rare form yesterday. But last week Beck inferred that he knew what it was like being a minority since he's Mormon, replete with radio pauses to cry.

Theater, oh yes.

Except that POTUS came out to speak with "City of Blinding Lights" by U2 as his intro. Bill Clinton was the one who used Tom Petty's song as his outro after he took the GOP out and spanked them.

Heck even if he had, that's not weird at all. Ranting at a chair on the other hand :). Oh Rush thy projector of thine universe.

That's not strategy. That's desperation.

Mitt is openly pandering to the far right base that should be in his corner anyway. That says his internal poll numbers are terrible and that he's in worse shape than they're letting on. He should be aiming at the wider electorate now, not aiming for the base.

I knew someone would say that! LOL

Well, it's the explanation you get for why the women's section is behind or above the men's in a synagogue, even though we only prostrate in some traditions and only on the high holidays.

I once attended a synagogue that had a mechitza that was high enough to cut off vision during the service, but had a curtain at the top that could be pulled back for visibility during the drash and the sermon. The young men who sat by the wall were responsible for pulling it at appropriate times. One day they forgot, and a little old lady extended an arm through the curtain and tapped one of them sternly on the shoulder until he got with the program.

YEP. Should be going for those coveted independents.

That's what it sounds like to me.

How long before someone in the Derp Squad notices the position of many of the people in the crowd's arms and claims they're doing a Nazi salute?

You know it's coming.

How sad is it that that was my second thought after noting the size of crowd.

Pat "We Deserved 9/11" Robertson. Lovely. Totally expecting an interview with Bryan Fischer where he kisses Fischer's ass too despite Fischer's nasty anti-Mormonism and all around nastiness.

Yeah, but apparently they have made huge ad buys in Ohio, Florida, NH, NC, Virgina, Colorado, Iowa, and Nevada.

i think the electoral math works out that they have to win 5 - 7 out of those 8 to win

It's a Hail Mary. Problem is while I have seen anti Obama ads here, there has been very little positive ads here for Mitt. And Mitt's anti government rhetoric really isn't going to fly here in Northern Va with so many federal employees. Maybe Mitt or one of his surrogates will talk about "Real Virginia" again though!

Not even Obama is evil enough to go full atheist.

Meaning?
