By now you may have already noticed that we have a new sign-in panel, on the right side of our page header. It’s been radically simplified, from the way it looked when it was in the left sidebar. Instead of a list of links to account-related pages, there’s now a “Menu” button that shows those links in a pop-up menu.

If you’re not logged in, the panel gives you the option to “Sign In” or “Register.” Signing in now takes place in a pop-up dialog box. There’s also a “Forgotten password” option that lets you reset your password if you can’t recall it.

And there you have today’s enhancement — and by the way, I wrote that pop-up menu code to be compatible with mobile devices (which don’t support mouse hover events).
