In a way, I think being a non-musician sort of helps me appreciate music more but man oh man I wish I could play an instrument too. Was really pleased that my kid brother's learning one in school. That's one of my regrets from grade school- not learning an instrument.

I think they can do it. I'm a big fan of Michael Kenneth Williams' character and the guy who plays Rothstein is also awesome. Still shocked about the second season finale though. Friend of mine worked on the show and had to keep that secret the whole summer and fall.

Somebody linked me to an article the other day from back in July, which was wildly optimistic about Romney's chances, but did point out the reality that with the various rules for early voting in effect, the power of major events to alter the election diminishes as we get closer to Election Day, rather than increasing.

That's an interesting idea. The historical characters are interesting to me but I like the fictional ones as well. Forgot to mention that my favorite character on the show is probably Harrow, the vet with the disfigured face. He's a fascinating character.

I played the House storyline right up til you have to take care of the Brotherhood...then found out that the storyline's bugged so that you can't convince House to spare them/initiate an alliance with them. And playing the Legion storyline was just too far over the line for me.

The hobby store I ordered from for years went of business recently. I looked around at other online outlets and finally settled on one in Minnesota. They had a good selection and reasonable prices. I placed a 31 dollar order. They sent an e-mail confirming the order. This included the heretofore unsuspected news that they take 2-3 weeks to ship orders. That's right, weeks to even process and send the order. I am not in urgent need of model planes and related products but a 2 or 3 week delay in shipping an order strikes me as the absolute nadir of customer service.

I'm usually very careful about reading fine print but this is something so weird and unheard of in this business you wouldn't think of asking about it until you actually see it. There was no warning at all about this, you don't see the shipping time until you actually place the order.

They have a phone number but there is no human being answering it and there is no provision for cancelling an order on their website.

Fortunately, they don't bill your credit card until they actually ship, though I might have died or the dollar could have become worthless by that time.
I don't know what's up with these clowns but I suspect they don't have a lot of repeat business. They certainly won't get any from me.

I was speaking in general. They've got Iron Man 2, Captain America, and Thor, but no Iron Man or The Incredible Hulk. And Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but Transformers and Transformers 2 aren't there. But if you're willing to add $8 more a month, you can get them on DVD.

I'm pretty convinced by now that they do this shit because they know they milk your wallet for more if you add DVDs to your subscription.

Yemeni protesters storm U.S. embassy in Sanaa: witnesses

(Reuters) - Hundreds of Yemeni demonstrators stormed the U.S. embassy in Sanaa on Thursday in protest at a film they consider blasphemous to Islam, and security guards tried to hold them off by firing into the air.

The attack followed Tuesday night's storming of the United States Consulate in Benghazi, where the ambassador and three other staff were killed. President Barack Obama said the perpetrators would be tracked down and ordered two destroyers to the Libyan coast, but there were fears protests would spread to other countries in the Muslim world.

Witnesses in Sanaa said the demonstrators smashed windows of the security offices outside the embassy before breaking through the main gate of the heavily fortified compound in eastern Sanaa. Security guards opened fire.

Film on al-Jazeera television showed demonstrators jumping up and down on the parapet of the building and scaling the walls.

So we have countries full of undereducated people who have almost no concept of free speech or artistic freedom. They assume that any article or film that comes out must be approved if not sponsored by the governmnet.

We have people in these countries that do understand freedom of the press, they are just happy to get the masses worked up.

Like the Danish Mohammed cartoons and US Koran burnings, these things would have bassed with barely a notice had people not made an active effort to rile up the masses over them.

And they seem to succeed every time, which only encourages them.

This suggests to me that these things, while not exactly "staged", are being intentionally orchestrated by agitators who are really trying to put themselves over as the power brokers in their societies.

I've been watching "Walking Dead" and "The Unit". The Unit kinda rules. Figures since Eric Haney is the supervising producer and the series was made from his book "Inside Delta Force".

What I'm really enjoying about "Walking Dead" is how the TV series is an adaptation, but not an *exact* adaptation, of the comic book. Certain characters in the comic have died while the characters are still alive in the TV series, and vice versa.

While I don't expect a happily ever after -- Kirkman, if I recall correctly, has said that the show is about the end of the human race -- the show has its own set of surprises (coughSophiacough) different from the comic book storyline.

The analyst would be Ralph Peters. I saw that being promoted by some right wingers this AM.

My first question to them is who exactly is to be killed. No one has identified the groups yet. It might be an AQ affiliated group, a bunch of Khadafi dead-enders, or some heretofore unknown group. To go in guns a blazing without knowing who/what we're up against? That's just folly.

Obama has sent a FAST team, two warships (one of which is already on station), and a drone unit. That kind of response is sufficient to gather intel, guard the US diplomatic mission/personnel, and conduct operations against those responsible.

If they have sufficient intel, I would expect that in coming days and weeks we'll learn that those involved have been killed by UAV strikes, captured by the FAST team, or hunted down and captured by the Libyan government, which has pledged to assist the US efforts.

Obama's shown repeatedly the willingness to use force to go after those who have carried out attacks against the US and its interests around the world. Why would anyone on the right think he wouldn't do so in this case - when he even sent in our elite forces to go and kill/capture OBL in Pakistan. Oh wait, I can answer that question too - because it's all part of an ongoing narrative that the President somehow hates America, apologizes (when none was actually made) and that he wouldn't protect the nation.

His actions have spoken louder than words. Which is more than one can say about the current state of affairs for the GOP and the Mitt apologists/excusers.

Not certain that Bloods v. Crips diplomacy is good long-term strategy, but that's just me.

Million dollar question - particularly since it appears to have been uploaded in July, saw less than a few thousand hits since, and then exploded into the nexus of an international conflagration in concert with 9/11.

I don't believe in coincidences. Nor do I believe what anyone involved the movie has had to say thus far - because much of what they've said can't be confirmed by anyone. Sam Bacile doesn't appear to have existed except as a pseudonym/agent provocateur. Morris Sedak is an agitator. Steve Klein has ties to extremist groups. The references to Jewish donors/backers/Israel is a misdirection play to try and bring the usual assortment of anti Jewish and anti-Israel sentiment to a head and to inflame passions even further.

Is it possible that AQ or another terror group took advantage of the protests in Egypt to use similar protests in Libya to carry out the deadly attacks there? Possibly, and the US government is looking at that possibility quite seriously.

The situation in Egypt also appears to have taken on a life of its own, and there are reports of protests elsewhere, including Yemen. This isn't necessarily by coincidence either.

It's all these crazy people know. They cannot seem to process the fact that the Marines going in and indiscriminately slaughtering people is a bad idea for a whole host of reasons.
