New Obama Campaign Ad Uses Mitt Romney’s Own Words

The Obama campaign’s new ad is almost unbelievably brutal because it plays Mitt Romney’s own secretly recorded words, juxtaposed with images of the people he was casually dismissing. This was the real Romney, comfortable among his super-rich peers, letting his guard down and saying what he really believes.

Romney and the Republican Politicians are on the most part their own worst enemies because of what come out of their mouths.

A pretty damning analysis from Maddow.

Romney leaves up ads that have been proven false, despite saying the correct or remove things that aren't true. When called on it, he reiterates the falsehood that got him in trouble.

Alternatively, he'll say something, stake out a position (often a new one), and his campaign will pretty much immediately walk it back afterward, quietly, without saying even that it was a change of position, or even that he misspoke.

She gives ample examples of both.

Romney's incessant lying, and for that matter Ryan's incessant lying, are absolutely consistent with how they really feel about millions of their fellow Americans. They really don't like the "you-people" very much. So why not lie to us? To them, it's like lying to a tree: of no particular significance.

“I think we have a very clear path to victory, and apparently Claire McCaskill thinks we do, too, because she was very aggressive at the debate, which was quite different than it was when she ran against Jim Talent,” Akin said. “She had a confidence and was much more ladylike (in 2006), but in the debate on Friday she came out swinging, and I think that’s because she feels threatened.”

Falwell Jr. Says Trump's Convocation was 'Probably the Best one in the History of the School'

As we have noted over the last few days, there has been a bit of confusion over the remarks that Donald Trump recently delivered at Liberty University when he told the students at this Christian university: "Don't let people take advantage; get even!"

Trump, of course, is standing by his remarks and so is Liberty University, as chancellor and president Jerry Falwell Jr. told Newsmax that Trump's Convocation speech was "probably the best one in the history of the school" and that his message of "get even" was not "contrary to what Jesus taught at all"

Hanson business owner lampoons Elizabeth Warren

37 lawhawk  Thu, Sep 27, 2012 12:24:06pm

Nate Silver confirms that Obama's got a distinct advantage in the polls that were released yesterday but still not clear whether that will translate into election day. He also goes into how Rassmussen has been leaning GOP counter to other polls, but Rassmussen gives Romney a 2 point advantage, even as Rassmussen has the worst record of any pollster since the 2010 cycle (they were pretty good in 2006 and 2008, but did poorly in both 2000 and 2010).

I'd counter by noting that if Obama's leading in places like Iowa in the polling then it could reflect actual voting, since the polls are now open in Iowa. Obama's advantage in Iowa as compared to 2008 isn't nearly as strong, but that doesn't mean Romney will make up the difference.

But by current context we shouldn't take Romney words spoken there as standing for what he stands for anyways. Just like the GOP platform doesn't represent the Romney campaign, or what Ryan says about Medicare or balancing the budget does either. We're past the Looking Glass here folks and I'm surprised that Romney is not sitting on top of a brick wall for most of his speeches and fundraising events.

How The Tea Party Hopes To Purge Thousands of Ohio Voters

Members of an Ohio tea party group are taking it upon themselves to individually police alleged voter fraud, launching challenges to a targeted list of voters that includes hundreds of college students, trailer park residents, homeless people and African Americans in counties President Obama won in 2008. In all, the group has sought to remove from the voter rolls at least 2,100 registrations in 13 Ohio counties, nine of which Obama won in 2008, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The alleged perpetrators of this voter fraud include Lori Monroe, a 40-year-old recovering from cancer, whose apartment for the past seven years was allegedly listed as a commercial property; and eight members of an African American family, whose four-bedroom home where the family has lived since the 1980s was allegedly listed as a vacant lot. The group has also focused on challenging college students for failure to specify a dorm room number, a claim that every election board has thus far found invalid.

The group behind this crusade has dubbed itself the Ohio Voter Integrity Project, an offshoot of Texas-based True the Vote, which champions voter purges and voter ID laws and has been building a “poll watcher” network, an effort documented by Colorlines’ Brentin Mock:

but the romney voters don't reason in a connected way to come to a logical conclusion

in the famous 47% quote, romney says flat out that he thinks that all - all! - the people who don't pay income tax are dependent government and don't take responsibility for their lives. he flat out says that that's what he thinks of everybody in his 47%

but you can read the freepers rationalizing it to themselves: they don't make enough to pay income tax, but they don't feel like they are dependent on government, and they take responsibility for their own lives, so they must not be the people that romney was talking about
