Obama’s Support Among Latino Voters: 73%

Self-deportation

With Mitt Romney’s talk of “self-deportation,” his endorsement of Arizona’s anti-immigrant SB1070 law as a model for the nation, his employment of far right nativist Kris Kobach as an advisor, and his condescending joke about having a “better shot at winning” if he were Latino, this new poll from Latino Decisions should come as no surprise: Poll: Obama Tops 70 Percent Support Among Latinos.

The poll shows Obama earning the support of 73 percent of Latino voters, while Romney trails with the support of only 21 percent.  It’s the first time Obama has exceeded 70 percent in the six weeks that Latino Decisions has conducted its tracking surveys.  This week’s installment also shows that more than 70 percent of Latino voters trust Obama over Romney on issues related to the economy, women, the Middle East and Latin America.

This election is turning into a referendum on right wing racism and xenophobia.
