Video: Barack Obama Extended Interview With Jon Stewart

As the right desperately tries to make another fake outrage out of the word “optimal”
Politics • Views: 26,174

The right wing blogs and media are freaking out in unison — it’s always in unison — about President Obama’s statement, echoing the question from Stewart, that the deaths of four Americans in Libya were “not optimal.”

Go ahead and watch the interview for yourself. To suggest that Obama is being blasé or dismissive about these deaths is ludicrous, false, and just plain stupid.

Obama did not froth at the mouth and call for the death of every t*head in the Middle East in retribution. That, to these people, is tanamount to coddling them,

OH MY GOD LISTEN TO HOW ROBOTIC THAT CANDIDATE SOUNDS IT'S OBVIOUS HE DOESN'T ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT LIVING BREATHING PEOPLE

Another faux outrage - Obama pays his female staffers 18% less then men.

Never mind that it's the government that sets the pay scale for all federal jobs, not the President.

Another whiff for Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller. He should stick to race baiting.

Exactly.

The Republicans are grasping at any little twig they can to try and keep their sinking ship afloat. This is just another example.

I bet it took more than 18 words for O to say the words "terrorist act". Which isn't the same thing as "an act of terror" or "terrorism". /

You didn't build that and he didn't say it. End of discussion. Now let's get back to not discussing our tax plan.

If you discount the recent Gallup polls (showing Romney with a six or seven point lead), Obama is back in the lead in many poll averages, so you may be right.

If the second debate had any effect all all, we should be seeing it this weekend.

Romney has finally found a study to justify his tax plan, unfortunately the study demonstrates that it is necessary to cut deductions for middle class.

So now the Romney campaign is touting a 2006 study from the congressional Joint Committee on Taxation that he claims vindicates his approach, telling Roll Call the study shows “how a ‘Romney-style tax plan’ could bolster growth.” According to the study, tax reform that eliminates deductions and loopholes and reduces income tax rates will slightly increase economic growth over a decade. But the study assumes that nearly all middle class tax breaks — including those for children, mortgages, and employer contributions for health care — are repealed in their entirety:

Under the proposal, all personal exemptions, itemized deductions, personal credits except for the earned income credit, and all above-the-line adjustments to income except for retirement savings deductions and the deduction for self employment taxes would be repealed. The largest categories of deductions repealed are present-law deductions for home mortgage interest expenses, State and local taxes, and charitable contributions. In addition, the exclusions for certain employee fringe benefits, such as employer contributions for health and life insurance, would be repealed. The standard deduction would remain.

The study also found that such a plan would result in the “redistribution” of income tax liability from high-income earners to the middle class. And the promised job growth is only between 1 and 2 percent over ten years (one to two million jobs), while Romney promises that his tax plan will create seven million jobs over four years.

The Gallup poll is so out there by itself I just don't trust it that much.

Other than Gallup (which, to be fair, did bounce back +1 for Obama today, even if its numbers are still ridiculous) we are already starting to see it today.

Rasmussen shifted 2 points towards Obama, leaving it tied.
IBD/TIPP was tied yesterday, today it's +2 Obama

Well I look at it this way-The right wing is losing so badly, have so little substance to go with they are all the way down to making up little things like this. It's the kind of thing that fuels my skeptical view of the "close race".

Those idiots don't know what "taqqiya" really is. "Dhimmi" is another one malappropriately used, especially by Pamela Geller.

No, the race is close. Bit mitt Romney has avoided the really 'loony tunes' attack angles of the right, so now some others are launching those attacks to sate their desire to vent hate on Barack Obama.

Sigh...really?
The business owners built the roads and bridges and education system? Because that was what Obama was discussing when he said "you didn't build that" he was not talking about their businesses, other than as a reminder that they didn't do it all on their own without any help from other citizens and the government.

I sort of hate repeating myself on this, but at this point it's pretty obvious Obama will win. Oh, if you're an Obama supporter don't sit back on your heels, but for goo's sake quit hyperventilating.

Barring a catastrophe of some sort, "undecided" voters will break in a rate very similar to the way already decided voters break. (The break for the challenger is a myth - do the research.) If you go back to the tabs and take out the undecided (and undecided but leaning), Obama's got a solid lead. This reinforces the fact the 14 day moving averages of all polls have never put Romney in the lead.

Chill out, and work on the house. It's actually in reach of flipping. (Not likely, but in reach.)

Corrected for spelling.

I agree its going down to the wire, but do remember that it is possible that an event would break things in Romney's direction as well. Obama could screw up in some way, or Romney may win the third debate.

Nate Silver has Obama very slightly ahead in the popular and electoral count projections (and strangely way ahead in who will win). Anyway, cautiously optimistic for the first time in weeks but not confident.

Obama said something that could be taken out of context and then driven into the ground in order to confirm a lot of idiots' preceonceived and toxic notions about him and everything he stands for.

In other words, he opened his mouth in public.

OK, I've identified what's causing our database to go nuts -- the LGF Pages index page is the culprit. It's time to optimize the queries on that page -- they're hanging up the whole system.

For now, if you try to go the LGF Pages index, you'll be redirected to the front page until I get things under control.

It's not really "strange" that the EC and popular vote predictions would be close, but still have Obama as a more-than-2-to-1 favorite. At this point, barring a major fuckup, Obama looks pretty damn good to get past the 270 EC votes he needs....just not a whole lot more than that.

Lol, MSNBC, ABC, and CNN have already done their obligatory once every four years "what if there is a tie in the electoral college" stories. Never mind that it has never happened and that the odds of it doing so are incredibly small. Besides which it would not stay tied past the actual December vote of the college, someone would defect and vote for the other candidate. Probably more than one person considering the pressure they would be under, and the outcry that would occur should it go to the house of Representatives to decide. Nothing says that the elector has to vote for the person who won their area.

Corsi: Obama Practicing 'Taqiyya' and Sending 'Secret Communications' to Muslims

In an interview with VCY America’s Vic Eliason, Jerome Corsi argued that President Obama is a secretly gay Muslim who is practicing “taqiyya” to conceal his Muslim faith. Corsi has earlier claimed that Obama was married to his male Pakistani roommate and joined Trinity United Church of Christ because of its “Down Low Club” to have sex with other men whom he later had killed, according to Corsi’s anonymous “sources.”

He appeared on Eliason’s show to discuss his new WorldNetDaily article which says Obama wears a Muslim ring, and Corsi told Eliason that Obama is using the ring to send “a secret communication, like it’s a wink-wink and ‘I’m with you,’” to Muslims. “In Islam, taqiyya which is a practice, is OK for believers in Islam to mislead infidels,” Corsi asserted, “in Islam the high point of taqiyya would be to communicate to believers that that’s what you’re doing and that’s what I think this ring could easily do.”

Corsi went on to maintain that Obama is not a Christian but a Muslim who is “ushering in radical Islam through the Muslim Brotherhood,” and also gay.

Beware the secret gay radical Muslim decoder ring.

Well it might be close nationally, but here in California it's not a close race. Not at all. I think the lowest lead Obama has shown is 15% down from 23%. Makes it hard to see it as close.

I will be glad when this election is over so that I don't have to mute Romney ads. Maryland is solid blue, but our next door neighbor Virginia is a target for election ads.
