Mitt Romney Busted for Lying by Chrysler

Mitt’s mendacious fantasies
Politics • Views: 31,217

Mitt Romney’s lies have reached the point where his dishonesty is even being exposed by Chrysler, on their official blog: Jeep in China.

There are times when the reading of a newswire report generates storms originated by a biased or predisposed approach.

On Oct. 22, 2012, at 11:10 a.m. ET, the Bloomberg News report “Fiat Says Jeep® Output May Return to China as Demand Rises” stated “Chrysler currently builds all Jeep SUV models at plants in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. Manley (President and CEO of the Jeep brand) referred to adding Jeep production sites rather than shifting output from North America to China.”

Despite clear and accurate reporting, the take has given birth to a number of stories making readers believe that Chrysler plans to shift all Jeep production to China from North America, and therefore idle assembly lines and U.S. workforce. It is a leap that would be difficult even for professional circus acrobats.

Let’s set the record straight: Jeep has no intention of shifting production of its Jeep models out of North America to China. It’s simply reviewing the opportunities to return Jeep output to China for the world’s largest auto market. U.S. Jeep assembly lines will continue to stay in operation. A careful and unbiased reading of the Bloomberg take would have saved unnecessary fantasies and extravagant comments.

This was posted a few days ago and they don’t mention Mitt Romney by name, but here’s Romney’s latest television advertisement, repeating the bogus right wing talking point that Chrysler dubbed an “extravagant fantasy:”

There is not one thing that Romney has shown a modicum of integrity on. He has lied at every step of every way.

Apparently that Fox News, Limbaugh led right wing radio brainwashing which has taken place for the last 30 years has become so ingrained in people that they accept NO integrity from a politician.

Obama has been one of the most honest people we've had in office and here we are, ready to elect someone who has shown over and over and over again that truth and integrity are concepts he has no clue about. I find it so bloody sad that we are on the precipice of electing and out and out liar.

Evil crazy:

Truth In Action: America is Turning into Nazi Germany

Truth in Action Ministries regularly produces slick documentary-like videos filled with Religious Right leaders warning that activist judges are destroying the country, gay rights is turning America into a "lawless" nation, and how the United States is on the road to becoming just like Nazi Germany.

In fact, warning that America is turning into Nazi Germany seems to be Truth in Action's favorite scare tactic, which explains the organization's newest video, "Tyranny: The High Cost of Forgetting God," which "looks at Christians who stood against Hitler's tyrannical rule, and modern day Christian 'heroes' fighting for righteousness in America today." In the video, Tony Perkins, Richard Land, and Wendy Wright explain that things like banning prayer in schools, legalizing abortion, and kicking God out of the public square all signal that the United States is following the same path that led to the Holocaust:

I think I can trump this ugly story with another....

80-year old woman gets arested for taking down Obama-Hitler posters.

In the midst of a heated political season and with the election just weeks away, you expect to see political signs everywhere; but a controversial sign in Hebron, Conn., got a woman riled up, and arrested.

Nancy Lack, 80, was driving by the post office on Main Street in Hebron when she saw some signs showing President Barack Obama with a mustache similar to the one worn by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Lack said she was so offended by the images that she took the posters down. “I just got very angry that they would do that to [President] Obama’s image,” Lack said. “I took the one by the road and the two by the table,” said Lack.

The posters were from LaRouchePAC, which backs presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche and supports impeaching Obama for what it describes as “war crimes, cover-ups and blatant violations of the constitution.”

Lack said that when she removed the posters, she knew she would get in trouble. Some workers with LaRouchePAC tried stopping her, but Lack wouldn't back down.

“A woman was following me to the car and I put the posters in the car and I said, ‘Make sure you get my license plate.’

Lack was arrested and faces sixth-degree larceny and breach of peace charges. “I guess I deserved it. I stole the posters,” said Lack. While Lack said she didn't expect to be arrested, she remains defiant and stands by tearing down the posters because of what they represent.

“My generation went through the Second World War, and Nazism is about the worst there can be,” said Lack. If convicted, Lack could face three months behind bars and a fine. She is expected in court next week.

Safe to say she's the hero of the day!

Mmf. Those nice comment search results pages we've had for years, where the comments are grouped with their associated articles, and sorted nicely by date?

They may have to become a thing of the past. The queries that create those nice groupings are not very scaleable. I'll have to see if there's a better way to implement something like it, but with nearly 10 million comments in there the options are limited.

This might be another area that ends up handled by a Google custom search.

But if he had talked that way the whole campaign the Teabagger right would have split for 3rd party world already. So Mitt is trying to dance the fine line where he keeps both the right-wing and moderates without either group deciding in large numbers that they are totally being played as chumps.

They're going to have to nominate a REAL conservative (and who knows what that will mean next time around) and get their asses beaten REALLY badly before they'd do something so radical as to look in the mirror and judge themselves wrong.

The only thing that will cause the GOP establishment to stop kissing teabagger ass is a Mondale-style humiliation at the polls. That's what it will take for the GOP to finally exile the religious nutbars, the bigots, and the wingnuts, just like the Dems finally kicked the hippies and the kooks to the curb in 1984.

UPDATE 3-Fourteen rescued from HMS Bounty in path of hurricane; 2 missing

The three-mast, 180-foot (55-meter) ship, built for the 1962 movie "Mutiny on the Bounty," was lost.

"It is under water. The mast of the ship is still protruding from the water," Coast Guard spokesman Chief Nyx Cangemi said, relaying eyewitness reports from the search and rescue team.

As the 16 crew members were abandoning the Bounty wearing cold-water survival suits and life jackets, the final three on board were washed overboard, Cangemi said. One of them was pulled onto a life raft but the other two remained at sea, he said.

The 14 were rescued from two 25-person lifeboats with canopies, the Coast Guard said.

Crews aboard a C-130 Hercules airplane and a third rescue helicopter were searching for the two missing crew members, and a two Coast Guard cutters were on the way to assist them, Cangemi said.

Captain Robin Walbridge, 63, who worked on the Bounty for 17 years, was one of the missing, said his wife, Claudia McCann.

"That was his passion," McCann said. "He's the best captain in the industry. ... There's not too many captains that can sail that kind of ship (a square-rigger)."

The captain was the last to leave the ship, wearing red survival gear, she said.

"That's the image I have in my head. I'm sure he made sure his crew were all tucked in their life boats before he got off the ship," McCann said.

I don't understand why Romney wants to throw Detroit under a bus. Would it really hurt him to say that he and Obama have similar views about the importance of the U.S. Auto industry? And given his family's ties to Michigan, I can't understand why he's so actively against it.

And the statement that "Obama took [the auto makers]" into bankruptcy in this ad is particularly bizarre, given statements he made during the second debate.

House GOP Voted To Cut Disaster Relief In Order To Preserve Military Spending

The House Republicans’ Sequester Replacement Reconciliation Act of 2012, which was passed without a single Democratic vote, called for zeroing out funding for the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG), a program that provides funding to state and local governments to aid needy children, adults, and the disabled. As the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities noted, the SSBG also offers assistance for disaster relief:

The SSBG has served as a conduit for emergency appropriations to help residents and communities respond to the additional social service and health needs resulting from natural disasters, such as floods, wildfires, and hurricanes.

For example, in response to the 2005 Gulf Coast Hurricanes — including Hurricane Katrina —Congress provided an additional $550 million in emergency funding to states via SSBG for use by public, non-profit, and private entities to repair, renovate, or construct health care facilities, among other purposes. The funds were disbursed promptly — within two monthsa — and SSBG’s flexibility allowed states to streamline eligibility for services funded by the emergency appropriations. Eliminating SSBG could make it harder to provide this sort of flexible human services funding in the face of emergencies.

Yes, I have, but it's really the approach itself that's not scaleable. I'm using an old-school pagination method where I get the total number of items and break them up into pages. That's the purpose of the SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS clause.

The comments table uses a FULLTEXT index, so the actual searching of text can be quite fast. But when the queries get complex, it's figuring out the total number of results that's the real bottleneck.

There are some interesting ideas on this page:

WND EXCLUSIVE: Does Bible code predict President Romney?

Moshe Aharon Shak, an orthodox Jew and author of “Bible Codes Breakthrough,” has produced a series of videos on YouTube with his modern analysis of Scripture.

For those not familiar with Bible codes, they are said to be secret messages embedded in the Torah, the first five books of the Old Testament.

Those who claim the codes’ validity say they disclose information about both the past, as well as the future.

The messages are decoded when a computer is used to search in a certain pattern, such as every fourth or fifth Hebrew letter within a given matrix.

“The matrix is found in Deuteronomy Chapter 28, verses 13 and 14,” says Shak, a mechanical engineer from Montreal, Canada. “There we find his first name, last name, day and month of birth, and the term ‘president.’ Fifteen terms consisting of 85 letters are found telling a fascinating story.”

Shak says the Hebrew code goes beyond merely stating that Romney will be president, but also describes the kind of leader he’ll be.

“The codes are telling us: a fitting president,” he explains, adding that Romney’s name is associated with the phrase, “the man (is) for Him,” referring to the Master of the universe.

“I suppose that means that he (Romney) will follow His (God’s) ways,” said Shak. “But the term goes both ways. It also means that the Master of the universe will be for him, for Romney.”

The only way Detroit could have truly been saved was if unions were decimated, all pensions revoked, wages equalled what Chinese workers make and all regulations on everything are repealed in their entirety, along with the EPA being completely disbanded.

And once all that happens, we get to watch EVERYBODY's wages tank because, hey, we're human capital to be used, abused and tossed away. The slaves should be happy for the crumbs they get, by God!

In his current bid for the presidency, Mitt Romney has said he supports the right of same sex couples to adopt, but not marry. It’s certainly not how he’d prefer things, but Romney said in May that he accepts that it does happen.

“I know many gay couples are able to adopt children. That is fine,” Romney told Fox. “But my preference is we encourage the marriage of a man and a woman and we continue to define marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman.”

He wasn’t always so accommodating in his language. (Neither were most other national politicians in the not too distant past.) Back in 2005, as he prepared his first run for the White House, Romney openly mocked same sex couples seeking parental rights even as he made it very difficult for couples to obtain those rights.

Stay safe everyone. It's windy as hell here in Atlanta, but it's been a pretty day. I'm a little worried that I can't reach my daughter in Southern Ohio, but she's in a very rural place, one tree down in the right place means no power for a week. The satellite pictures of the storm look freaky and scary. I hope all of you and yours weather the storm and stay safe.

I voted early today,YAY!! The polls here are running at full tilt, about a 90 min to 2 hour wait today. It's hard to tell who the turnout favors,I saw lots of women(2 to 1 maybe more),about a third of the people were over 60. Lots of crackpot bumperstickers in the parking lot of the polling place.

Gov. Christie to those in Atlantic City who didn't evacuate when told to do so - you're on your own and no rescues possible until tomorrow AM at earliest. Hunker down and get to highest level in your buildings.

Christie presser con't:

Equipment coming in from Indiana to support relief/rescue efforts.

Road closures - GSP shuttered from Driscoll Bridge to Southern End. Turnpike closed in middle of state. There's flood risk as it gets dark - no way to tell when there's flooding and you put lives at risk.

Stay off the roads.

NJ - 348k without power.

I clicked on both "reply" and when that didn't work, on "quote" to No. 25, but nothing. This is in response to that post:

I lived in Minnesota and had lived there for 20 years when Mondale was nominated. He was a far better choice than St. Reagan and was not a hippy or any of the terms set out in this post. He was an excellent senator and I was sorely disappointed that the nation was so taken in by the actor who won.

I'm about to give up on posting on this site. And, I haven't noticed anything speeding up. This post is taking a very long time to type and it takes forever for me to even log on to LGF
