Can anyone recommend a place that rents laptops? I'm looking for a rental, not some rent-to-own scheme, for maybe a couple of weeks. My (two month old) laptop freaked the hell out and is being flown to Kentucky for specialist care. I have GOT to have one for work, school, and chatting with lizards.

Anyone got a place that's cheap and decent?

Some of it (item 2) looks real. The stuff the parachute shroud lines are made of gives you a couple hundred pounds of test, and can be stripped to provide 7 smaller threads. One of them is green colored for survival fishing.

No more listening to wishful thinking polls ( *cough* Karl Rove, Scott Rassmussen *cough*). No more trusting the "elites"!

...

Then have you quit watching Fox News? If not then you are part of the problem, not the solution.

...

I donated to the Romney campaign. Not much, but it was what a could afford. I think it came out to about $300. That's grocery money to feed my family. That's gas money to get my kids to school and for me to get to work. And this is how it was spent? To line the pockets of wealthy charlatans? Words can't describe how angry this makes me. And this "good man" allowed this to go on right under his nose. Mitt Romney owes me and a lot of other Americans a huge apology.

Going after minorities would have to include accepting ideas that the aging white racists consider anathema, like not treating all minority voters like moochers who just want a handout, and actually allowing multiculturalism and different faiths an equal place at the table.

Not going to happen anytime soon. I think they're going to double down even further in 2014 and push for a True Believer as a nominee in 2016.

I won't spoil "The Mist" for anyone hasn't seen it, but the reason I didn't like the ending is because as soon as (A) happened, you knew that (B) was going to happen.

Once (A) happened, there was no other place for it to go.

The original King novella ended far more ambiguously, essentially cutting off one scene sooner than the movie did.

That would totally piss off movie viewers. (and book readers, too honestly) We wanna know how it ends, dammit.

It was kind of unsatisfying.

Agreed. That's why I liked the novella better; you had absolutely no idea what became of the characters -- given the inexplicable nature of the threat, the ambiguous ending was (for me) a much better ending.

Buying Texas Secede Bumper Stickers

The irresponsibility is baked in!

(Raises hand)

If I buy one and put it on my truck in New York, does that count as rooting for it?
