Fox News Asking Questions Again: Was Petraeus Being Blackmailed by Obama?

Hate mongering fake news network pushes conspiracy theories to the right wing base
Wingnuts • Views: 27,802

The right wing has been ranting in unison about the Benghazi attacks and their conspiracy theories of a “cover-up” for months now, getting more and more insane, and today Fox News took it to the next level, as dim bulb Steve Doocy has a deranged wingnut daydream that Barack Obama “blackmailed” David Petraeus to keep him quiet about … something.

These people are completely off their rockers with hatred for the President.

Was Petraeus Being Blackmailed by Obama?

Nope

Next question

2 Dark_Falcon  Wed, Nov 14, 2012 10:21:57am

Glenn Beck may have left FNC, but his nutty "just asking questions" type of trolling. I'd therefore like to make a motion:

I move that the sort of "just asking questions" type of trolling Fox News is engaging in on Benghazi by hereafter known as "Beck Question Trolling. Will anyone second the motion?

3 blueraven  Wed, Nov 14, 2012 10:22:16am

That is so fucking stupid.

So Obama knew about the FBI investigation and was blackmailing Petraeus. Meanwhile all of the folks at the FBI and other outsiders know about the investigation.

Like this was never going to come to the surface. Give me a break. How stupid are these people?

Rhetorical.

What's more annoying to me in this whole thing is some of the guys I fish with thoroughly believe that Obama never called it an act of terror, that one of the seals was killed while using a target designator to call in a drone strike and that the CIA refused to provide backup. All of this they learned from watching fox news and all of it is bs.

No it is Fox News Trolling...they own it.

No matter what the issue, they seem intent on ascribing malign motivations to Obama. Why do you suppose that is?

I don't know, but I'm sure it couldn't possibly be racism.

There are Higher Truths. These being that Obama coddles terrorists, hates America and wants to help spread Jihad across the Midwest (the coasts will take care of themselves)...

Anything that serves to illustrate these points is seen as serving a Higher Truth.

Unfortunately, there are not enough drugs in the world to allow me to get High enough to see these Truths...

Because their entire existence revolves around destroying the president and his administration because Obama is a Democrat.

But the funny thing is, and Charles pointed this out, is that they never say what Petraeus was being blackmailed for. They just know the evil communist, muslim/atheist in the White House was doing some nefarious blackmail-y stuff.....just not sure what his end game was

Oh Barky O-bow-ma.....what was your evil blackmail plan?!?!?!!!11!??

14 Obdicut  Wed, Nov 14, 2012 10:26:44am

Accusing someone of blackmail is actually slander. I'm sure they'd hide behind saying they just meant it rhetorically but they're coming stupidly close to accusing the president of being not just a criminal, but a very incompetent criminal.

We recommend that no Hamas operatives, whether low level or senior leaders, show their faces above ground in the days ahead.

That would be wise.

A friend of mine ran a local construction shop for many years and it was not unionized. He treated his employees very well, there was no need for union involvement.

Anyway one day a Union Rep stopped by the shop and asked if the employees had ever considered joining the Union. He proceeded to make a several implications that seemed to suggest that "It would be good for you to join the Union...OR ELSE.". He did this in a relatively calm "just asking questions" manner.

It took a threat of calling the police to get him to finally leave the premises.

To this day the shop is still not unionized (though my friend no longer runs it).

I really don't understand the mindset of being against unions, after all the unions and their members helped build the great middle class this country had.

Press conference is a bit late.

I'm guessing that the rapidly-occurring developments in Palestine/Gaza are likely contributing to this.

Dragonfire isn't against unions, but in this case the management was and still is treating its workers well and the workers do not feel they need a union. He's not being anti-union, he's speaking about a union organizer who was behaving in a thuggish manner. He's not saying any other union people act like that, just that that particular union organizer behaved badly and used the "just asking questions" gambit.

With all the Repubs complaining about 'the bubble' in general and Fox specifically, Fox must be deep in fear of creeping irrelevance.

I really appreciate America for its values of self-reliance and individual initiative.

What I do not understand, however, is the nothion that individuals and families with limited resources and income can be expected to negotiate on equal terms with multi-million/billion-dollar international corporations for terms of employment, financial services or insurance.

re: #21 Tigger2

What's happened is that people that aren't unionized have been turned against the unions. You have people who are working jobs with low pay, poor safety conditions, bad hours, no benefits (healthy/retirement/vacation etc.), and they've been told that the reason they don't have those things...is the unionized people who do.

So instead of fighting for the same things, they've found it easier to just blame the unions for their lot in life. Unions, I think, are necessary to a point, but some have become entities that are too powerful and pushing for things outside the realm of necessity.

In the above story, obviously a union isn't necessary since, as stated, the employees are properly compensated. Anybody pushing to 'unionize' in those situations seems like somebody who is looking to middleman the process and make money for themselves.

Fox News should merge with SyFy. They need an infusion of fresh fiction over there.
