Religious right “expert:” Believing in climate change insults God
Wingnuts • Views: 30,033

One of the most bizarre rationalizations the right uses to justify denying the reality of climate change is the whacked out fantasy that humans can’t do anything to change the climate because God wouldn’t let it happen. There actually used to be some commenters at LGF who used this line, back in the day.

This audio clip from Right Wing Watch features religious fanatic Cal Beisner of the “Cornwall Alliance” appearing on the American Family Association’s radio show, explaining that if you believe the scientists who tell you climate change is a real, dangerous thing, you are “insulting God” and helping to bring about tyranny.

It’s so off the wall it almost seems funny, but they’re deadly serious about this — and it’s not just on fringe radio shows. There are people right now in Congress who believe this stuff.

If there is anything Scottish History has taught us, its how scientific models of the climate offend God.

God will let humans commit unspeakable acts of genocide of millions, over and over, but he won't allow us to burn too many things.

Got it.

I betcha God isn't the least bit offended by people who claim to know what He said and when He said it, and then proclaim that's the ONLY interpretation that matters. It's funny how an all powerful being needs puny humans to explain what He means.

I really loathe these freaks.

97 House Republican's send a letter to the President expressing their opposition to a Susan Rice SoS nomination:
[Link: thehill.com...]

From the letter:

We, the undersigned are deeply troubled by your recent comments that you are considering Susan Rice to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. Though Ambassador Rice has been our Representative to the U.N., we believe her misleading statements over the days and weeks following the attack on our embassy in Libya that led to the deaths of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans caused irreparable damage to her credibility both at home and around the world.

Huh? I know the GOP has been advancing their conspiracy theory about Rice's single round of appearances on the Sunday after the attack, but what further statements are they citing here? Or is that just their typical wildly exaggerating rhetoric?

In her interviews over that time, Ambassador Rice propagated a falsehood that the attacks were "spontaneous," the outcome of a protest "spun out of control," and the result of a YouTube video.

Not quite. She followed the declassified talking points nearly verbatim, which didn't definitively state anything, and instead stressed that investigations were ongoing, that what she was providing was the current best intelligence assessment at the time, subject to change as more information came in. Also, again, as per the talking-points, she said the current assessment suggested it was a spontaneous response to what had transpired in Cairo.

Ambassador Rice is widely viewed as having either willfully or incompetently misled the American public in the Benghazi matter.

Actually, the only reason anyone on the planet might consider her Sunday show appearances remotely notable is that you lot have been trying so very hard to disseminate unhinged conspiracy theories and discredit her.

Her actions give U.S. allies (and rivals) broad reason to question U.S. commitment and credibility when needed. Thus, we believe that making her the face of U.S. foreign policy in your second term would greatly undermine your desire to improve U.S. relations with the world and continue to build trust with the American people.

Again, just because you're doing your darnedest to damage the credibility of our U.N. ambassador on the worldwide stage doesn't make it any more than wishful thinking that you've succeeded.

In light of this troubling situation and the continued unanswered questions, we strongly appose any efforts to nominate Ambassador Susan Rice for the position of Secretary of State.

Well, too bad for you lot that as members of the House of Representatives you have exactly zero say in the matter. Also, it's kind of sad you've only managed to rustle up 97 members of your caucus -- what happened to all the rest of the wingnut caucus?

Does this mean believing in The Flood is also an insult to God? Because the Bible I've read includes an angry God uses weather (flooding rains) not unlike that which we might experience in more frequent/stronger doses due to climate change to punish us.

It is a lousy argument for so many reasons. It seems that there is just as good of a biblical argument, if you are inclined to make it, that God is causing climate change, like the great flood in Genesis, or some other intentional destruction. Or, maybe he could accept the fact that we are destroying God's creation and start preaching that we should stop it. Wouldn't that be nice.

It always amazes me when the same people who claim to believe in a deity that is supposedly omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient think that the same deity is going to be offended if you believe in science.

Wouldn't a being that supposedly knows everything, is everywhere, and is all-powerful not only know what you already believe, but know whether or not you're sincere about it, and also how things will end?

I don't understand these freaks. WTF.

Anti-Gay attorney facing Federal charges for child pornography

A Manchester lawyer took a teenage girl to Canada, had her engage in sexual activity and convinced her to let it be filmed, according to federal indictments.

FBI agents swiftly arrested Lisa Biron yesterday morning as she awaited a hearing on child pornography charges at Manchester’s district court. About 9 a.m. FBI agents entered the courtroom, told Biron to leave her belongings and took her into an adjoining conference room where she remained for several minutes before coming out in handcuffs.
...
Biron is associated with the Alliance Defending Freedom, a group of lawyers who, according to their website, are committed to keeping “the door open for the spread of the Gospel” by advocating for “religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and marriage and family.” In Concord, she worked with the ADF in defending a Pentecostal Church on Mountain Road in its tax fight against the city.

She recently served on the board of directors at Mount Zion Christian Schools in Manchester, according to the school’s headmaster.

On Biron’s Facebook page, which was taken down in recent weeks, she had listed the Bible as her favorite book.

Obviously she had been sexually assaulted by a demon.

Thats Science.

Can demons engage in sexual activity with humans?

These spiritual rapists, as Adams describes them in her book, Consequences, often prey on people by performing sexual acts through nightmares and erotic dreams. Some people become so dependent upon these demonic experiences that they actually look forward to them.

"Anybody that has been attacked by them will tell you ... they're worried [that] they could not find that pleasure with mortal people," says Adams, who claims she was once possessed by sexual demons.

The two most identifiable sexual demons are the incubus, which is a male sexual demon that traditionally assaults women, and the succubus, which is a female sexual demon that assaults men. Sometimes they also lure people into homosexual behavior.

After the holocaust, we're still to believe that God sets limits to human stupidity and evil?

When it comes to the environment, we up and killed all the passenger pigeons. All the dodos. All the great auks. And a long list of other species. We made a near desert of the great grasslands of western Oklahoma Northwest Texas, S E Colorado, and SW Kansas...the dust bowl---before we changed our minds about trying to use that land for farming.

It should be pretty clear that in practice, we have a track record of doing what we damn well please, and the consequence will damn well be whatever they are. If WE won't listen to Him, well, then???

As to arguments from scripture, these are always he-said-she-said affairs, but still, there is ample text to support the view that we are instructed to tend and keep the earth. Why ask this of us, if nothing bad can come of our doing the opposite? And there's this line about having put before us life and death, therefore choose life.

It's a choice. Choose well.

52 CriticalDragon1177  Mon, Nov 19, 2012 3:36:09pm

Beisner, You're an insult to God. Tell me, is God lying to the scientists when they see all the evidence that carbon dioxide raises the Earth's temperature? Is he also lying to them when scientists find all the evidence suggesting that life on Earth is over a billion years old and that it all descended from a common ancestor, instead of all of it being puffed into existence only about six thousand years ago?

Dr Eisner is right, so-called anthropogenic (manmade) global warming AGW is an affront to God Almighty, the Creator of heaven & earth in that He designed our minds (the most complex arrangements of matter known in the universe) and the logical computeresque thought processes contained therein, including human logic. To insult human intelligence with the Left-Wing/eco-Marxist myth of AGW is also an insult on the Creator of the mind, who is also the Creator of order in a factually based universe. AGW is a chaotic myth that is low on facts and high on Far-Left philosophical presuppositions.

re: #54 peteone69

If you want to argue that C02 doesn't cause the temperature to rise, find a peer reviewed publication with an article published in the last ten years that says it does not. You won't find one. That's not because of some conspiracy among scientists, that's because of the overwhelming evidence that what you are referring to as "anthropogenic global warming" is unfortunately a real thing. Its actually happening and its a serious problem. The more you deny it, instead of trying to help us find a solution, the more you will make things worse.
