Obama’s Thanksgiving Message: Not Enough God for #Breitbart.com

Auto-rant mode
Wingnuts • Views: 48,874

They don’t really take holidays over at breitbart.com; they’re in wingnut auto-rant mode 24/7, 365 days a year, and Thanksgiving is no exception. Ben Shapiro, for example, can always find time to dash off an overheated tirade about Barack Obama’s insidious socialist atheist Muslim agenda: FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT YEAR, OBAMA’S THANKSGIVING MESSAGE DOESN’T THANK GOD.

It’s pretty much the standard canned “Obama’s a sekrit atheist who hates Christians and oh yeah he’s a commie too” diatribe we’ve seen a million times from these hacks, but it’s striking to see how much hatred Shapiro can muster up for what is, in the real universe, a very warm, positive message:

Obama does mention God in this message, of course, but it’s not enough for Shapiro.

As for God, here was the only mention — as a throwaway line in a hackneyed aphorism, used constantly by this president for communitarian sloganeering:

As Americans, we are a bold, generous, big-hearted people. When our brothers and sisters are in need, we roll up our sleeves and get to work — not for the recognition or the reward, but because it’s the right thing to do. Because there but for the grace of God go I. And because here in America, we rise or fall together, as one nation and one people.

No mention of thanking God. None.

But, of course, we’re used to this. In 2011, there was no mention of God at all. In 2010, Obama was closer, but still missed the mark (‘we’ll spend some time taking stock of what we’re thankful for: the God-given bounty of America, and the blessings of one another’). In 2009, Obama didn’t thank God, either.

These people are so weird. When did Thanksgiving become a holy day of obligation?

And the comments are exactly what you’d expect, following Ben Shapiro’s lead:

That’s because Obama is the most EVIL and corrupt President that the United States has ever had…

[…]

this is due to his believe in alley or whatever that false prophet’s name is that muslims worship

[…]

ITS A MUSLIM THING?

[…]

Haven’t you been listening? This is no longer a country Blessed by God. That ended with the election of a Muslim to the seat of Commander in Chief.

“Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation…” - Barack Hussein Obama

“There is no god but Allah” - the engraving on Obama’s “wedding” ring. The same one he has worn on that same finger since his days at Occidental.

Happy Thanksgiving!

[…]

Satan himself appears as an angel of light and behind the Obama’s mask lies a heart overflowing with evil, greed, hatred, and genocide.

[…]

Obama’s god is Marx

[…]

The Usurp is an Al-Qaeda sleeper.

[…]

How can a divisive, inept, mean spirited, disingenuous, narcissistic brat thank God when he considers himself to be a god? There is no room within the pea sized obummer brain for anyone or anything else other than the won.

[…]

This is proof positive that Obama’s religion is Marxism. Period.

[…]

Muslims are just that way

[…]

Why would he thank God when he embraces Allah via his wedding band? According to our Commander in Chief, “There is no God but Allah!”

[…]

It is because he doesn’t worship the God of the Bible but another god. I would once have said it is the god of the Koran but now I suspect it is the Image of the Beast that greets him in the mirror every morning.

[…]

I’d bet that Baracky faced Mecca, knelled, and prayed five times to allah! /Sarc

[…]

The pedophile cult of hatred, violence, rape, murder, beheading, enslaving and terrorism. Islam , the Satan worshipers of the world.

[…]

He’s a marxist muslim SHILL God plays NO role in this FORKED TONGUED, SNAKE OIL SALESMANS world He’s the DEVIL INCARNATE

And uh… Happy Thanksgiving from breitbart.com!

I thought Thanksgiving was to commemorate and thank the native Americans for saving the Pilgrim's asses. Well, before they wiped the NA out anyway.

Actually Shapiro is right. If you read Atlas Shrugs for several hours, drink 2 bottles of crappy gin, then watch Obama's video backwards at half speed while standing upside down and holding your breath, he does seem pretty evil.

Thanks. I thought Kragar had mistyped Khorne, a Chaos God from Warhammer 40K. Wal-Mart is currently preparing its annual worship of the Blood God with its heavily advertised 'doorbusters' and inadequate security. At least one shopper is always killed in the resulting frenzy, to the delight of the malignant deity who sits on the Skull Throne.

There are a lot of humans that actually do things who should be thanked, even if in a general sense.

So, Ben Shapiro, and the rest of the Breitbartian horde, get over it. IMHO, an opinion at least as valid as yours, thanking a none-existent being is a completely meaningless waste of time.

Yeah, if Ben's a believer he might want to go back and reread Psalm 15, with special attention to verses 2 & 3:

A psalm of David.

1 Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?

2 He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart

3 and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman,

4 who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts,

5 who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.

There's plenty more where that came from on slander/gossip/backbiting.

which would mean he believes in God?

For these brainless dipshits, Allah is the "wrong" god.

One good thing about Black Friday:

My wife drops me off at the driving range while they hit the malls.... like ALL FOOKIN DAY. It has rain covers so I hit balls if I can't play.

My Caveman Pops are coming along nicely. About another 10 minutes on the grill. I put some allspice in the brine and used Old Bay for the dry rub. It works.

I bought six legs for about 80 cents each. More food than I can eat in a week. I think I'll make some turkey chilli with the left overs in a few days. Economical enough that I might put this in my regular rotation of recipes all year round.

In the Wingnut Alternate Reality 'Allah' isn't the one true God, he's just the "Arabian moon god".

I could be painting a big ol' bullseye on my back here, but I can't help but thinking that "Arabian moon god" sounds pretty cool.

You should use Ahava products.

Arabian Moon God is where the phrase 'Ahrmagherd' came from.

That is why Big Box stores have doorbusters. Obama is crafty, and thus serves Saleesh.

Crafty? Crafty is not how one worships Saleesh, skle also prefers skler name to be spelled Slaanesh.

I got to go. Happy Thanksgiving. I will be at the Court and the Plaza at King of Prussia. Black Friday is Power Shopping day. [Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

From your prose I took you to be an early-career professional.

Not to be pollyannish, but if we must age, better on the outside than on the inside.

Good night, all.

Mommy's girl grown up: How Malia Obama has blossomed from an awkward teen to America's next style icon as she follows in the First Lady's footsteps

Image: article-2236982-162A2B26000005DC-657_634x938.jpg

They're both growing up to be quite beautiful young ladies. Malia has a sort of gazelle look about her—the long legs and long graceful neck, the big dark eyes. I think she favors POTUS though, both in face & build as well as a sort of cool, reserved quality that she seems to have.

To my eye Sasha favors FLOTUS. She's all big grins & gregariousness—she's adorable. Ditto for favoring mom in face & build.

Pity the poor boys who fall for them only to realize afterwards who their father is. LOL

So Ben, what's Obama gotta be some kind of cleric? Is he supposed to make a Thanksgiving Day message praying, giving a sermon, or is he supposed to be holding mass? It is afterall a very secular holiday by now and the religious aspect is up to the individuals.

110 CriticalDragon1177  Thu, Nov 22, 2012 8:54:54pm

Charles Johnson

I have a feeling it would never be enough to Ben Shapiro unless he mentioned God in every single sentence.

111 Ziggy Standard  Fri, Nov 23, 2012 2:01:12am
For Fourth Straight Year, Obama's Thanksgiving Message Doesn't Thank God

And God just goes along with it, rewarding Obama with more success. What a disappointment God is turning out to be./

112 Bulworth  Fri, Nov 23, 2012 8:10:07am

And what's worse, as Mr. Shapiro so expertly notes, PBO takes a great individualistic and commercially holy sacred day and somehow twists it into "communitarianism" and "community". /

113 SidewaysQuark  Fri, Nov 23, 2012 9:42:27am

The "It's a Muslim Thing" comment cracks me up. Everyone knows Islamic theocracies NEVER mention God in public addresses.

114 ReamWorks SKG  Fri, Nov 23, 2012 9:57:24am

I thought it was a beautiful message that applied well to all Americans. As a person of faith, I found it to be full of faith.

115 Bulworth  Fri, Nov 23, 2012 10:29:38am

"Haven’t you been listening? This is no longer a country Blessed by God. That ended with the election of a Muslim to the seat of Commander in Chief."

But I guess we were a 'country Blessed by God' on 9/11/2001. Now we aren't. And you can plainly see the difference. /

116 Bulworth  Fri, Nov 23, 2012 10:31:01am

"Satan himself appears as an angel of light and behind the Obama’s mask lies a heart overflowing with evil, greed, hatred, and genocide."

Wait, greed is bad again? /
