Allright, I have to buy presents for all my grandkids (except the ones in Israel, who already got two huge suitcases full of goodies) so what are some good recommendations for boys and girls ranging in age from 4 weeks to 12 years? (Older than 12 they get gifts of cash)

I shoot exclusively with Canon gear, but this is a great deal on a camera that's gotten decent reviews. And this camera accepts AA batteries in addition to rechargeables.

Price range?

For the older kids - maybe something like the Scrabble flash?

I'm kinda short on cash after my trip to Israel.

Also: NO VIDEO GAMES, NO TV/MOVIE THEMES.

I like Nikons: the lens are excellent and unlike Cannon they don't change the threads to force you to buy new ones.

I used a Coolpix for a few years and liked it. However, I am looking for something a bit better in terms of zoom ability and picture speed at this point. (I broke the Coolpix last summer when in Malaysia. :( )

Family gift exchange this year looks like I get a camera from my brother's family with me testing his and his daughter's to get a feel for what fits my needs. In turn, I get my sister-in-law a tablet.

Oriental-produced electronics for all!!

Fed Announces Bombshell New Stimulus Policy

The Federal Reserve took a genuinely unexpected step Wednesday afternoon when it announced it would significantly enhance its current monetary easing program. The Fed, for the first time, committed to keeping monetary policy loose until the economy crosses precise thresholds — specifically, an unemployment rate below 6.5 percent or a inflation above 2.5 percent.

That was a bad one, and honestly tops "you didn't build that!". This is because the latter saying by Obama is open to interpretation and can be read in ways that don't leave it as a lie. The "Jeeps made in China" ad was wholly dishonest, and cannot be seen as anything but a lie.

No, the latter statement simply cannot be read as anything other than a flat-out lie. They're both huge lies.

Pope Francis Says Atheists Who Do Good Are Redeemed, Not Just Catholics
Pope Francis rocked some religious and atheist minds today when he declared that everyone was redeemed through Jesus, including atheists. During his homily at Wednesday Mass in Rome, Francis emphasized the importance of "doing good" as a principle that unites all humanity, and a "culture of encounter" to support peace. Using scripture from the Gospel of Mark, Pope Francis explained how upset Jesus' ...

Holder: We’ve Droned 4 Americans, 3 by Accident.
In an extraordinary admission, Attorney General Eric Holder has told Congress that U.S. drone strikes since 2009 have killed four Americans -- three of whom were "not specifically targeted." For all the effort that the Obama administration has gone to in asserting that its drones only kill the people that the administration intends to kill, Holder wrote in a letter today to Sen. ...

WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it.
