I have one. I love it. The Blu-ray player's especially nice for Mac users since there's still no Mac-native way to play Blu-ray discs. The latest games look and sound amazing with 1080p video and 5.1 audio. This is a great deal for the 320GB model and a few games - the games aren't the latest hot mega-sellers but Little Big Planet is still very cool.

Hello all!

During the early moments of the Sandy Hook tragedy I mentioned that a family friend had lost a daughter in the 1996 Dunblane school shooting in Scotland. His name is Dr Mick North and in the aftermath of the event he was instrumental in arguing for gun law reform.

Well, tonight we will be appearing on Piers Morgan tonight. Hopefully the tides of public opinion are turning here in America.

What Insta-panic?

Instagram released their new TOS today. Basically said that they can sell of the rights to use your images and not give you a dime. They tried to walk it back, but damage has been done.

They've got the first nine minutes of the film playing as part of a sneak preview with IMAX showings of The Hobbit. And all I'll say is that Kirk better find himself a good lawyer if he's about to do what I think he's about to do.

I always wait about two or three weeks after a movie's release. The crowds' AQ (Annoying Quotient) tends to drop considerably.

It's nice to see some innovative ideas being floated around...
Buy back guns, boost the economy
I seriously doubt it would have a stimulus effect on the economy but if done right something like this could deplete the pool of grandfathered weapons by removing them from circulation.

re: #42 Killgore Trout

In 1996, after a horrific mass killing of 35 people at a resort in Tasmania, Australian politicians came together around a major reform. The “National Firearms Agreement,” reached within two weeks of that tragedy, banned semi-automatic and automatic rifles and shotguns, and it created a compulsory buyback program for the outlawed weapons. (To do otherwise would have amounted to a taking of property without compensation.)

I think making it mandatory/compulsory would be a problem but there's nothing to prevent government buyers to make the rounds at gun shows, classified ads, etc. It would take a long time but it could work eventually.

First time in years? Star trek is worth it. I took a break like that. The theater matters a lot. Now a once a month guy. I love Arc Light cinemas! Look for these features at a theater near you- Built in restaurant and bar. Steep design so the guy in front of you is not in the way. 21& over screenings. 4k projection. Atmos sound is the best ever. 64 discrete channels. I met it's developer at a trailer shoot- Oscar winning sound guy. Michael Minkler.

The local duo-plex is closing in January because they don't want to upgrade to go digital. There's talk of working on the 1930's downtown theater so it can be uncondemned. That would be nice. It's a block from my shop. Would bring lots of people downtown.
