Your Right Wing Hack Moment of the Day

Tres formidable
Wingnuts • Views: 20,491

Possibly the most laughable right wing reaction to the Benghazi hearings comes from the Washington Post’s conservative figurehead, Jennifer Rubin, whose eyes popped right out of her head when Rand Paul took the microphone.

There was also this eye-popping moment in which Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) showed why he is so formidable.

[…]

And with that, he did great damage to the myth of Clinton’s competence.

She’s referring to Sen. Paul’s rant about how if he were President, he would have fired Hillary Clinton.

If I were the owner of the Washington Post, I would have fired Jennifer Rubin for deliberately misleading her readers during the presidential campaign. She does great damage to the reputation of the Washington Post with every column of hers that they publish.

But I’m not the owner of the Washington Post, and Rand Paul’s not the President, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I can’t be the only red-blooded American columnist who saw starbursts the moment Senator Rand Paul took the microphone.

Rand Paul formidable? In what regard?

I can think of several areas, none of them publishable.

Watch Rubin turn on Rand Paul the next time the subject turns to foreign aid for Israel, which he wants to eliminate.

I wonder if she got the infamous leg tingle.

Comments at the Post are pretty good.

Example:

Had I been Neville Chamberlain, I’d have wrestled Hitler to the death in a steel cage match and prevented WW2!

Sort of a half-Godwin, that one.

Whatever the Washington Post pays Jennifer Rubin is wasted money.

She’s a complete waste of column space.

“Rand Paul’s not will never be the President,”

That’s more like it.

What “great damage”? Ms. Clinton, if she runs in 2016, is a shoo-in for the Presidency. Her ratings are high and I don’t think any rantings by the Righties yesterday hurt her at all. Perhaps made her seem stronger compared to people like Rand Paul and Bitter McCain.

Vladimir Putin Says Alaska Is Too Cold to Annex
Russian President Vladimir Putin quashed the possibility that Russia would annex Alaska while on a question-and-answer call-in show Thursday, adding that the former Russian colony is cold, too. Amid rising Russian nationalism after the president's annexation of Crimea, Putin responded to an audience member's suggestion of annexing Alaska during the televised national phone-in, asking, "Faina Ivanovna, my dear, why do you want Alaska?" ...

Criminalizing Expectant Mothers - NYT
Even by the standards of the growing Republican assault on the lives and rights of women, a new bill passed by bipartisan majorities in both houses of Tennessee's Legislature recently stands out for being meanspirited and counterproductive. If signed by the state's Republican governor, Bill Haslam, the legislation would give Tennessee the dubious distinction of being the first state to specifically authorize the ...

Calgary stabbings: How knife crime in Canada can cause ‘moral panic’
What Calgary police chief Rick Hanson called the "worst mass murder" in the city's history didn't end at the barrel of a gun. Instead, the 22-year-old suspect identified on Tuesday as Matthew de Grood is accused of entering the kitchen at a house party, taking "a large knife" and using it to fatally stab four men and one woman, all of whom were students ...

New York Electoral College: State Joins National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
Ben Mathis-Lilley, Slate: New York Electoral College: State Joins National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Instead of pushing for a Constitutional amendment, which would have to be ratified in 38 states, advocates ask individual state legislatures to pass an agreement: that they'll pledge all their presidential electors to the winner of the national popular vote as soon as enough other states pass the law to ...

These 5 Countries Are Crushing the Whole Gender Equality Thing at Home
When looking at this data, it's important to remember that gender equality isn't just about women working more paid hours or doing less housework. It's also about men cutting back their work hours to pitch in more around the house. Countries that have lighter workweeks, in fact, tend to have a more equal distribution between men and women in the home. The OECD ...

Justin Trudeau has talked himself into a defamation lawsuit that is likely to leave his party quite a bit lighter in the wallet. The Insane History of Rockets at Jet Propulsion Laboratories
The Rocket Boys In the late 1930s, a group of Caltech graduate students were booted off campus after blowing up (part of!) their building during a rocket test gone awry. Unwilling to give up on the joy of semi-controlled explosions, the students and a few of their friends headed into the San Gabriel Mountains. They picked a deserted gully -- Arroyo Seco -- ...
