Headline of the Day: Tom Tancredo to Smoke Pot

“Illegal immigration? Oh, that’s cool, man, no worries.”
Wingnuts • Views: 29,975

I’m in favor of this becoming a trend among far right conservative politicians; we just might see a big attitude improvement: Tom Tancredo to Smoke Pot.

Tancredo, who supported the marijuana reform proposal but said he did not partake in drugs himself, made a bet in a promotional film advocating its passage that he would nonetheless smoke pot if it ended up becoming law. Since it passed, he told Fox News he will uphold his end of the bargain:

“Look, I made a bet with the producer of the film that if Amendment 64 passed ( I did not think it would) that I would smoke pot,” he said through his research and education institute, the Rocky Mountain Foundation. “I will therefore smoke pot under circumstances we both agree are legal under Colorado law. Hey, it’s better than having to do a stupid dance as (Denver) Mayor (Michael) Hancock must perform as a result of losing a bet on the Broncos beating the Ravens.”

I don’t know if a pound of weed could loosen this dickhead up.

But will he actually, you know, inhale?

Gonna need more than weed to lighten up fuckers like Tancredo.

Somebody may have to feed him some ‘shrooms, some peyote buttons, a tab of LSD, a couple of lines of coke…

That probably means home grown. Although I’m sure Tancredo would love to smoke some good Mexican.

I didn’t comment in that thread (beyond a simple factual response to some questions), because it was just too damned depressing. What a waste. I’ll never understand why people self-destruct in that manner, and why they don’t see how ultimately self-defeating certain behaviors can be.

34 Our Precious Bodily Fluids  Thu, Jan 24, 2013 4:51:45pm

There is a particular aspect to smoking pot for the first time, particularly smoking from a bong. Because of the way a bong works (smoke is cooled and filtered through water before being inhaled), it’s very easy to inhale WAAAAAAAAYYYY too much on your first time. The unfortunate smoker usually doesn’t even feel anything terribly unpleasant at first, until it suddenly becomes obvious that pretty much their entire lung capacity is filled with smoke.

Much coughing and gasping ensues, and although it sounds pretty terrible, it’s one of the funniest things you can watch (if you’re an idiot like me who laughs at such things).

I would pay a substantial entrance fee to watch various Republican horse’s asses naively take their first bong hit.

This depiction is about 70% accurate:

Wisconsin Lawmaker Suggests Planned Parenthood Is Targeting Asian Americans for Abortion

Grothman: Given the racist background of Planned Parenthood and not liking people who are not white, I wonder if one of the reasons why Planned Parenthood likes to do these sex-selective abortions is disproportionately they are done on people of an Asian background. Let’s face it; we all know Planned Parenthood’s background, very racist, probably the most racist organization—

Schneider: They specialize in putting their centers in minority neighborhoods.

Grothman: We know the historic comments of Margaret Sanger. It’s something that concerns me a little because I wonder given their racism the degree to which Planned Parenthood is aggressively promoting this stuff among people with an Asian background and I sure hope the state legislature takes a role and puts an end to it, at least in the state of Wisconsin.

Grothman has previously claimed that single moms deliberately lie about their pregnancies and voted against a bill providing survivors of sexual assault emergency contraception. Planned Parenthood has already condemned sex-selective abortions but many anti-choice activists have argued, without much evidence, that such abortions are a “growing problem” in the U.S.

Meanwhile, Charisma is featuring an article on how to wrestle with demons, literally.

When Demon-Inspired Believers Lay Hands On You

You’ve probably fallen victim to malicious gossip through the lips of another Christian. But physical assault gives a literal meaning to wrestling principalities and powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12).

Indeed, when a demon physically attacks you through a believer, a wrestling match with the flesh and blood that’s hosting the foul spirit can ensue.

I’ve had several “wrestling matches” with people seeking deliverance and I’ve witnessed many more. Some of these precious people manifested with strength that far surpassed their human stature. On one occasion, a spirit of fear manifested so strongly through a 110-pound woman that it took five people—including two full-grown men—to restrain her while commanding the spirit to bow in the name of Jesus (Phil. 2:10).

Despite many years of participating in deliverance ministry, though, I’ve never experienced anything quite like what I’m about to share.

Nehemiah Griego’s uncle says the kid, who killed his parents and siblings, is not a monster, but maybe his 12 year old girlfriend is.

[…]

One of the surprises of the interview is that Griego placed some blame on Nehemiah’s 12-year-old girlfriend even though the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office cleared her of any crimes.

“The young girl testified to police and they decided they aren’t going to charge her,” Griego said. “The evidence we saw on their phones was that she in fact was egging him on. She met him at the church afterwards. If she was really so concerned about what he talked about doing and everything he had just done, she should would have been aware through those texts.”

The program hosts were quick to contest where Griego placed blame.

“She had several hours where she could have talked to her mom or called the cops or done something. She did nothing,” Griego said. “The point is (people) have rushed to judgment on this kid and the rush to say ‘oh, it had to be all him, he had to be some sort of psycho to do this.’ There are many, many factors.”

KOB Eyewitness News 4 spoke with Griego on the phone Thursday afternoon. Griego said he was troubled with local news reports about his family and hadn’t decided when he would speak to the New Mexico press.

I felt sorry for everyone involved, I mean this guy’s brother, sister in law, nieces and nephew are dead, but to point to the 12 year old is pretty low. They learned that from Fox news and Rush:

Fox News Can’t Decide If It’s OK To Call Someone Hitler

Since the Newtown, Conn., school shooting, Fox guests have been among the loudest voices saying that any new restrictions will decimate the Second Amendment and lead to government oppression not seen since Hitler, Mao or Stalin.

None summed it up it better than host Sean Hannity, who said last week: “We don’t talk a lot about — what were the intentions of our founders and framers? And we have Stalin, um, we have Hitler, we have countries, tyrannical. They talked a lot about that.”

Then stepped up Bob Schieffer.

Speaking on a special Jan. 16 edition of CBS News, the host said this of the obstacles to passing legislation: “Surely passing civil rights legislation, as Lyndon Johnson was able to do, and before that, surely defeating the Nazis was a much more formidable task than taking on the gun lobby.”

Heads on Fox started to fizz. When Hannity played the clip on his show, he followed it up with a clip from Rush Limbaugh, who asked: “Is there room for that in our discourse today?” Limbaugh called it “over-the-top defamation.”

Kudos to him for keeping up his part of the bargain. I do not agree with most of his policies but in this instance, Go for it man!

Good sport!

William, someone can explain much better than myself. It’s an idiot right wing gathering hashtag/hang out on Twitter.

It is pretty amazing at the thoughts our fellow citizens have in their brains. Their ripe pea brains.

Esmeralda County, Nevada is about the size of Rhode Island and Delaware combined. Romney won it in a landslide. With 317 votes.

“…Believe it or not, under Tennessee common law, it is possible for a minor sex crime victim to also be an accomplice in the crime. The issue turns on whether that victim voluntarily consented to the sexual activity. If you’re head is swimming after that last sentence, you are not alone. The very idea of statutory rape is that some kinds of sexual encounters are legally impossible to consent to per se—such as the one between a forty-two-year-old man and a fourteen-year-old girl. Yet in Tennessee a string of cases suggest the pernicious idea that minors are culpable in their victimization is not at all a thing of the past.”

Add to it either the banning or heavy, heavy regulation on Private Schools, and that will be awesome.

I still have a (small and insignificant) grudge against Abrams for the last season of Lost.

“LOL NO, IT TOTALLY WON’T TURN OUT THAT THEY WERE DEAD THE WHOLE TIME, AND THE ENTIRE SERIES IS BASICALLY OUT-OF-BODY EXPERIENCES AND THEIR LIVES FLASHING BEFORE THEIR EYES. WE WOULD NEVER DO THAT. HEH,” he said in many an interview.

Asshole.

Hey. Just arrived.

Tancredo is someone who probably has an AR-15. I don’t imagine pot giving him the sexy, I imagine it giving him the paranoid.

Not a good idea Tom, unless you’ve got controlled circumstances.

A penny for his thoughts..

Media moments today-
Overheard on news radio-Joe Biden said something about the ten round limit being more effective at reducing gun deaths than an assault gun ban. I agree. Is that more palatable in our politics? Dunno.

It doesn’t matter what a weapon looks like, so I could care less about AWB. The magazine limit would help in the very rare, very impactful mass shootings. It would do nothing for the majority of killings in which a magazine is not even emptied. We are seeing cosmetics-based policy making.

Crimes go down with higher education levels, partially because of lower poverty levels. Crime also goes up and down irrespective of the common excepted causes. There is a chaotic component to it.

New York State has 9 COUNTIES (if you count the 5 boroughs of NYC separately) with more people than the entire state of Alaska. Just a fun fact to throw out there.

re: #122 Vicious Babushka

What is it with Chicago now being the wingut borg’s go-to hellhole? Just because Obama is from there? I mean, you could easily pick other cities that are in far worse shape (Detroit?) and run by corrupt Democratic machines.

And the list of southern cities with far worse crime stats than Chicago is a long one. We can start with Memphis and move onto Atlanta, Little Rock, Birmingham, etc.

Oh, maybe we shouldn’t mention Little Rock. That’s probably Bill Clinton’s fault.
