Fly Lands on Obama’s Face, World Net Daily Raves About Satan - Update: Satan Discovered Writing for WND

Your World Net Daily moment of the day
Wingnuts • Views: 50,084

Today at the craziest of the crazy right wing sites, ace reporter Aaron Klein is covering an issue that the mainstream media are too afraid to touch: Is Obama Biblical ‘Lord of the Flies’?

Yes, in addition to being a socialist, a Marxist, Hitler, an angry black radical, a secret Muslim, and a tyrant, President Barack Obama can also lay claim to the title of His Nibs, the Horned One. The Prince of Darkness. The King of Hell. The malignant arch-fiend Beelzebub.

Those reaching to connect Obama’s fly troubles with the darkest biblical references won’t have much difficulty.

One name commonly used to refer to Satan is Beelzebub, which translates from Hebrew into “Lord of the Flies.”

A posting at the popular Free Republic Web forum discusses Beelzebub and asks, “Is the White House fly infestation evidence of demonic presence and influence there?”

The End Times blog named Obama the “Lord of the Flies.”

The blog connects Obama to Beelzebub, writing, “This really isn’t an academic question. The Lord of the Flies is real.”

Over at RevalationNow.net, a posting by “editorial staff” muses about whether Obama is possessed by a demonic entity.

“I feel like I am watching a horror movie and the secret evil character is revealed by the evil signs around him,” the post reads.

Klein concludes his investigative piece with several paragraphs of citations from the Bible and Torah, helpfully explaining the many ways in which Satan has been linked to flies.

Some of World Net Daily’s super-smart commenters suggest an alternate explanation, however.

Flies are a very good judge of excrement.

[…]

Well as a dog owner I’ve seen a lot of dog poop in the yard through the years over the course of 4 dogs & as an eye witness I can say poop usually has lots of flies swarming around it & sitting on it. Maybe we should start calling obammie the BigTurd-in-Chief. ;-)

[…]

HAHAHAHA! That was funny. :)

UPDATE at 1/25/13 1:58:06 pm

World Net Daily may have a huge, no, an apocalyptic problem much closer to home, though. The signs are undeniable. One of their own columnists is also attracting flies.

Lucifer is among them.

The Dark Lord has many faces. (Photoshop by Gus.)

Never before in 6000 years of creation has a fly ever landed on a person. This is irrefutable proof Obama is a demon.

20 dragonath  Fri, Jan 25, 2013 1:40:17pm

Catholic Encyclopedia

Beelzeboul (Beelzebub) is used, then, merely as another name for Satan (Matthew 12:24-29; Luke 11:15-22) by whom the enemies of Our Lord accused Him of being possessed and by whom they claimed He cast out demons. Their charge seems to have been that the good Our Lord did was wrought by the Evil One in order to deceive, which Jesus showed to be absurd and a wilful blindness. If the New Testament name be considered a transformation of the old, the question arises as to how the god of the little town of Accaron came to give a name to the Prince of Darkness. The mission on which Ochozias sent his followers seems to show that Beelzebub already had a wide renown in Palestine.

See, Obumzebull’s been cavorting with Palestinians.

Interesting. It all depends on whether or not the GOP State legislatures actually have the nerve to do this

The VA plan was worse than most CD plans because it would give the at-large EVs (i.e., the two EVs that correspond to the VA Senators) to the party that won the largest number of congressional districts (which would be the GOP).

The thing is, if the plan goes National it undermines what the GOP is trying to accomplish. It only works if they can cut votes in half in Democratic majority states while they keep all the votes in GOP majority states.

Fucking idiots.

Feds: ‘Ex-Marine’ with ‘right-wing’ manifesto built bombs for cocaine, hoarded assault weapons

A Colorado man, who said that he was an ex-Marine and claimed a “right-wing declaration of independence/constitutionalist political manifesto,” built improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to trade for cocaine and hoarded several military-style assault weapons that may have been converted to machine guns, the Department of Justice said on Thursday.

According to an affidavit, federal agents with the Bureau of Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) raided the home of Richard Lawrence Sandberg in Jefferson County on Thursday after he provided an undercover agent with homemade bombs.

After receiving a tip from a Denver Police Department detective, ATF Special Agent Shane Abraham contacted Sandberg and told him he needed an explosive device to protect a building. Sandberg, who claimed to be “former Special Ops Recon SS Marine Corps,” allegedly said that he was in possession of “incendiary” or “napalm” explosives, but the devices were wrong for the job. The suspect then recommended a “frag” — or fragmentation device — and suggested that he could provide something that was also waterproof.

“former Special Ops Recon SS Marine Corps”? How many fucking more tactical words could dipshit string together?

About SEVEN ANGELS

The theme of this channel is to honor those who have died under oppressors (REPTILIANS - JESUS CALLED THEM SNAKES AND SERPENTS) and those who continue the fight against evil forces (SATAN’S SERPENT BLOODLINE) running rampant on our Earth. LOOK AROUND YOU - ‘THEY LIVE’!

WE ARE IN A TIME OF GREAT ‘REVEALING’… THE EARTH AND ALL LIVING THINGS ARE UNDER ATTACK BY DARK FORCES - LIKE NEVER BEFORE!

REVELATION 11:18 - “THE NATIONS WERE ANGRY, BUT THE TIME FOR YOUR WRATH HAS COME. IT IS TIME FOR THE DEAD TO BE JUDGED - TO REWARD YOUR SERVANTS, THE PROPHETS, THE SAINTS, AND ALL WHO FEAR YOUR NAME, BOTH UNIMPORTANT AND IMPORTANT, AND TO DESTROY THOSE WHO DESTROY THE EARTH.”

GOD WILL RESTORE OUR EARTH ONE DAY.

So if Obama is a demon, how long before someone tries to wrestle him?

When Demon-Inspired Believers Lay Hands On You

physical assault gives a literal meaning to wrestling principalities and powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12).

Indeed, when a demon physically attacks you through a believer, a wrestling match with the flesh and blood that’s hosting the foul spirit can ensue.

I’ve had several “wrestling matches” with people seeking deliverance and I’ve witnessed many more. Some of these precious people manifested with strength that far surpassed their human stature. On one occasion, a spirit of fear manifested so strongly through a 110-pound woman that it took five people—including two full-grown men—to restrain her while commanding the spirit to bow in the name of Jesus (Phil. 2:10).

Despite many years of participating in deliverance ministry, though, I’ve never experienced anything quite like what I’m about to share.

During the “Satanic Panic” of the 80s, there were several traveling church groups and ministers who would go around to the types of places where people are more likely to be receptive to their nonsense and give “seminars” to local law enforcement and Concerned Parents Groups on how to recognize evidence of satanic cults and how to identify their members (spoiler: always teenagers / young adults, and anything that vaguely resembled a heavy metal-oriented poster in their room was a sure sign that they were secretly part of an infanticidal Satanic cannibal sex cult).

Several of those idiots came through town, including my absolute favorites: Revs. Dan and Steve Peters. Reminds me of a funny family story. Many years ago my aunt (or should say my uncle’s wife) created a serious family furor at a family reunion by saying that she hoped her son and I were let’s say, hooking up, when we disappeared for a few hours together (we were both in our 20s and we were very good buddies). I mean, all hell broke loose with family expressing horror at the suggestion of first cousins getting romantic. The thing is, there was no blood relationship since my cousin was a cousin by adoption (her son who my uncle adopted). Those who were horrified never did get the difference.

The thing is, if the plan goes National it undermines what the GOP is trying to accomplish. It only works if they can cut votes in half in Democratic majority states while the keep all the voted in GOP majority states.

Fucking idiots.

Actually, if the GOP were to propose to do this nationwide, it would be a superficially fair proposal (all states treated equally) that would still have resulted in a GOP victory in 2012.

With EVs going by congressional district, the House and the presidency would pretty much always go the same way.

Thus, this nationwide idea is more dangerous than the nakedly opportunistic business of splitting the EVs only in GOP-run blue and swing states.

Well I guess this is the reql deal, a separation of powers fight courtesy the GOP

Washington (CNN) - President Obama’s recess appointments to a federal agency– made without Senate confirmation– have been struck down by a federal appeals court as an unconstitutional use of executive power.

The three-judge panel unanimously concluded Friday three people named to the National Labor Relations Board lacked authority, because the presidential appointments were made while the Senate was technically in a “pro forma” session during the winter holiday break.

The case sets up a potential high-stakes Supreme Court fight between the executive and legislative branches.

Republican and Democratic lawmakers in the past have used the “virtual Congress” tactic to block unilateral appointments by the President when the Senate is away.

It’s also a breakdown of heretofore unbroken political barriers. It’s bad enough Citizens United allows PACs of a national stature to spend money in local races.

Sen. Johnson Blasts WaPo For Awarding Him ‘Worst Week In Washington’

Sen. Ron Johnson: not just dumb, but thin-skinned.

How many fallacies can you guys find in Johnson’s two paragraphs of I-such-a-victim outrageous outrage?

“The Washington Post – the poster child of Washington status quo - said I had the ‘Worst Week in Washington,’” said Johnson in a statement. “Benghazi was a failure of leadership by Secretary Clinton: before, during and after the terrorist attack. I dared to actually demand that Secretary Clinton explain why she refused to debrief her own staff and then provide truthful information to the American people.

Johnson continued: “In Washington, demanding the truth is apparently a sin. Every week that Washington leadership continues to sweep its dirt under the carpet, ignore America’s economic plight and turn a blind eye to its own out of control spending is a bad week for me, the people of Wisconsin and every American.”

Kansas’ Governor and G.O.P. Seek to End Income Tax

President Obama stood on the steps of the Capitol in Washington on Monday afternoon and laid out an expansive liberal agenda for the nation. Inside the Kansas State Capitol here this week, Gov. Sam Brownback and Republican legislators have been drafting what could be a blueprint for the other side.

On Wednesday, lawmakers received a bill to inch the state closer to eliminating income taxes, a centerpiece of a broad legislative vision that many in the Republican Party here hope will serve as a model of conservative governance for other states, if not the nation, to follow.

While Republican principles of small government and low taxes have holds on large swaths of the country, Kansas provides perhaps the starkest view of the crimson ideology that could challenge Mr. Obama’s Inauguration Day rallying cry.

There’s really nothing sacred about winner take all in statewide votes for presidential electors. In fact, having citizens directly vote for president is optional.

E.g., in 1876, CO was the last state to have its electors chosen by the state legislature.

Why is the United States paying for its ally’s adventures in Africa?

For years, Republicans and Democrats alike have asked our allies (particularly those in NATO) to shoulder more of the cost for providing security in our interconnected world. To their credit, many allies — including the French, Germans, British, Italians, Canadians, Australians, and Poles — maintain robust ground forces and have provided significant numbers of troops in Afghanistan. However, these same countries have largely refrained from the types of long-term investment in their defense capabilities necessary to secure their interests (and ours) in places like Mali, Libya, or Syria. And, for better or worse, the United States enables this behavior by continuing to backstop these missions, whether with precision-guided munitions for the Libya campaign, or strategic airlift for the Mali offensive.
….
At some point the United States must force this issue with its allies, lest we create a moral hazard by allowing France and other friends to construct a foreign policy that’s built on a foundation of U.S. military capability and funded by U.S. taxpayers. We need a new business model for NATO, one in which our allies share their security burdens more smartly, with greater complementarity and collaboration between allies than we have today. To date our allies have resisted this model, largely because they think it will diminish their sovereignty. This must change, and only a “tough love” policy, such as the one being pushed by the White House on France now, will incentivize our allies to shoulder their share of the task, whether in Mali or the next place where we act in the world.

The following paper published in Science today:

Can We Name Earth’s Species Before They Go Extinct?

Some people despair that most species will go extinct before they are discovered. However, such worries result from overestimates of how many species may exist, beliefs that the expertise to describe species is decreasing, and alarmist estimates of extinction rates. We argue that the number of species on Earth today is 5 ± 3 million, of which 1.5 million are named. New databases show that there are more taxonomists describing species than ever before, and their number is increasing faster than the rate of species description. Conservation efforts and species survival in secondary habitats are at least delaying extinctions. Extinction rates are, however, poorly quantified, ranging from 0.01 to 1% (at most 5%) per decade. We propose practical actions to improve taxonomic productivity and associated understanding and conservation of biodiversity.

Has gotten all sorts of media stories written on it, with headlines that do their best to raise controversy, e.g.:
Study slams ‘alarmist’ species extinction fears

The real problem wrt biology is “what is a species” and how do we know?

Listen to one of the participants, starts at 10:45 in today’s Science podcast:

Listen to the broadcast, then compare to what the headline I copied above implies.

Erik Rush: Obama Emulating Stalin to Pursue his ‘Totalitarian End Game’

Conservative writer Erik Rush writes today that President Obama’s press conference on gun violence was actually a way to distract the public so he could confiscate guns, provoke “civil unrest,” and train the military to kill U.S. citizens in order to justify “his move of declaring martial law” and to pursue his “totalitarian end game.” He claims Obama wants to copy “Mao, Lenin , Stalin and Castro – men who murdered hundreds of millions in their ascent to total dominion over their respective nations,” and establish a dictatorship.

Except for holding and winning popular elections, failing to round up his opponents and undesirables and placing them in death camps and not doing countless other things conservatives say they would do to liberals if they were running thing, Obama is just like every other totalitarian dictator.

The result of this ruling, assuming the Supreme’s don’t strike it down, will be worse than simply Obama’s appointees being ruled invalid. wiki:

Presidents since George Washington have made recess appointments. Washington appointed South Carolina judge John Rutledge as Chief Justice of the United States during a congressional recess in 1795.

According to the Congressional Research Service, President Bill Clinton made 139 recess appointments. President George W. Bush made 171 recess appointments, and as of January 5, 2012, President Barack Obama had made 32 recess appointments.

Ayep, because the Judiciary didn’t just say “Congress can fuck around with when it considers itself in recess,” it also said that the only positions that can be filled are those that open during the recess. So the minority party can simply keep any position it wants vacant for an entire presidential term, so long as it holds proforma sessions.

Everything is a war against them, paranoia runs deep and wide, and victimhood is always conveniently close by after they feign outrage or deliberately persecute. Their ability to absolve themselves from any and all wrongdoing fascinates and infuriates me. What they have done and continue to do to my lgbt brothers and sisters is conduct unbecoming a true follower of Christ and it breaks my heart. There is no turning back for these folks – the evangelical mind has atrophied and in my opinion, it is incapable of evolution or recovery.

Hmmm….

As some of you might remember, last week I brought up TFN’s latest report about Bible studies in Texas schools - and I think one or two Pages were posted by others, linking to a few blogs - and it sort of bothers me that this story has not caught on more widely in the American media.

Not that I expect much out of corporate media, but I did think the TFN report would have gotten a little bit more attention, outside of the creationist/evolution culture war blogs.

Anyway, one blogger, who writes on occasion in some big name outlets, Adam Laats, has put down some thoughts:

Teaching the Bible, Texas Style

Laats himself is not a creationist, at least in the Ken Ham style, but I’ve got to wonder if not unlike so many media writers on other topics (especially climate change, or any other sufficiently esoteric subject) the real goal is simply pushing the peanut, as the phrase goes.

Consider what Laats writes:

[…] As [TFN] points out, these doctrines are intensely sectarian. They teach a specific interpretation of the Bible as eternally true. Students in these public school classes would be told that the doctrines of conservative evangelical Protestantism are the correct and only interpretation of the Bible.

Are we shocked?

We shouldn’t be.

Here’s why not:

First of all, the numbers of schools and students involved is very small. […]

Second, the practice of teaching sectarian religion in public-school Bible classes has a long and surprisingly uncontroversial history. As I explored in my 1920s book, while public attention was focused on anti-evolution laws, between 1919 and 1931 eleven states quietly passed mandatory Bible-reading laws for public schools.

Finally, even after the anti-Bible SCOTUS ruling in 1963, many public schools simply continued the practice. As political scientists Kenneth Dolbeare and Philip Hammond found in their survey of schools in a Midwestern state, the Supreme Court rulings against public-school Bible reading made absolutely no difference in school practice. Where students had read the Bible before, they continued to do so, without raising any controversy.

So Professor Chancey’s findings that a few students in a few public schools in Texas learn a sectarian interpretation of the Bible should come as no surprise. […] Moreover, as political scientists Michael Berkman and Eric Plutzer have convincingly argued, public school teachers usually teach ideas that are locally uncontroversial. In some places, that means teaching creationism as science. In others, it means teaching the Bible as history.

On the whole I find Laats’ acquiescence disquieting (and read his CoHE article for more). In the comments he demonstrates that even if he is not a YEC he is under the influence of some serious misunderstandings about the Bible:

[…] I personally believe that the Bible is often historically accurate. To pick just one example (I opened up my Scofield at random), the nativity story told in Luke 2:1 bases the story on Caesar Augustus’ tax policy. Seems like a reasonable part of both Biblical and non-Biblical history to me. […]

Frankly, the nativity portion of Luke has long been a problem for Synoptic Gospel studies because it is in direct conflict with the story in Matthew - and thus at least one of them is wrong. That Laats picked one of the most controversial parts of the gospels as “history” tells me something.

Here’s another story that came out yesterday, got scant notice, and while it might not be the revelatory big bang The Independent had hoped for, one would think it would have drawn a few more notices:

Exclusive: Billionaires secretly fund attacks on climate science

A secretive funding organisation in the United States that guarantees anonymity for its billionaire donors has emerged as a major operator in the climate “counter movement” to undermine the science of global warming, The Independent has learnt.

The Donors Trust, along with its sister group Donors Capital Fund, based in Alexandria, Virginia, is funnelling millions of dollars into the effort to cast doubt on climate change without revealing the identities of its wealthy backers or that they have links to the fossil fuel industry.

However, an audit trail reveals that Donors is being indirectly supported by the American billionaire Charles Koch who, with his brother David, jointly owns a majority stake in Koch Industries, a large oil, gas and chemicals conglomerate based in Kansas.

Millions of dollars has been paid to Donors through a third-party organisation, called the Knowledge and Progress Fund, with is operated by the Koch family but does not advertise its Koch connections.

[…]

The Knowledge and Progress Fund, whose directors include Charles Koch and his wife Liz, gave $1.25m to Donors in 2007, a further $1.25m in 2008 and $2m in 2010. It does not appear to have given money to any other group and there is no mention of the fund on the websites of Koch Industries or the Charles Koch Foundation.

[…]

Robert Brulle, a sociologist at Drexel University in Philadelphia, has estimated that over the past decade about $500m has been given to organisations devoted to undermining the science of climate change, with much of the money donated anonymously through third parties.

The trust has given money to the Competitive Enterprise Institute which is currently being sued for defamation by Professor Michael Mann of Pennsylvania University, an eminent climatologist, whose affidavit claims that he was accused of scientific fraud and compared to a convicted child molester.

Dr Brulle said: “We really have anonymous giving and unaccountable power being exercised here in the creation of the climate countermovement. There is no attribution, no responsibility for the actions of these foundations to the public.

Oh, look, here’s another interesting bit about “The Donors Trust”:

In a November 15, 2012 article in The Washington Spectator,” Lou Dubose, the writer, introduces us to the crusader who wants to undo many of the civil rights laws: “Edward Blum’s campaign to dismantle statues and case law that provide advantages to minority groups began in 1992. After Blum, who is white and ran as a Republican, failed to unseat a black Democratic congressman, he filed his first lawsuit.” Blum is the behind-the-scene backer of the Fisher case. Although what Blum does is legal, one wonders why he believes hundred of years of preferential treatment favoring European American is acceptable and need not be changed when we witness the results of years of injustice in education every day. Dubose notes that “Blum confirmed that his litigation is funded by Donors Trust and that the names of contributors to the fundraising collective are not available to the public.” Dubose does mention that there might be some connection with the Koch brothers via the Donors Trust.

You mean the Kochs are secretly funding racists as well as climate change deniers? It can’t be, can it?

They didn’t though. That’s why the councilman tried to enact such a rule on the spot, in direct response to a citizen simply voicing their support for the 2nd Amendment and stating that they were a CCW holder. The councilman didn’t want to study the issue, and when he lost he left like a petulant child taking his ball home. After the vote the City Attorney advised that such a rule would be unconstitutional and unenforceable. The councilman also thought it was his business to question the CCW holder in spite of the City Attorney pointing out that it was inappropriate because the time was set aside for the public to question the council, not the other way around.

Amgen Gets a Gift From Congress

For a disheartening example of how intense lobbying and financial contributions can distort the legislative process in Washington, consider what happened to the “fiscal cliff” bill approved three weeks ago by Congress.

Senators who play a major role in federal health care financing were happy to help Amgen, the world’s largest biotechnology company, evade Medicare cost-cutting controls by delaying price restraints on a class of drugs used by kidney dialysis patients, including Sensipar, a drug made by Amgen. That provision was inserted into the final fiscal bill by Senate aides. Many members of Congress did not know it was in the bill until just hours before it was approved.

Although other companies will benefit financially from that delay, Amgen, which has 74 lobbyists in Washington, was the only company to lobby aggressively for the provision. The delay will cost the Medicare program up to $500 million over a two-year period.

Oops. That’s the opinion piece. Here’s the investigative one:

Saying his intention is to try a new way to “break the cycle of poverty,” Knoxville Sen. Stacey Campfield has introduced sure-to-be-controversial legislation tying a low-income child’s educational progress to the aid his or her parents receive from the state.

A member of the Senate Education Committee, Campfield told TNReport.com recently that his aim is to place “more accountability on people who are on government benefits.”

Senate Bill 132 would establish mechanisms for reducing Temporary Assistance to Needy Families payments for TANF recipients whose children fail to maintain satisfactory progress in school. According to the Tennessee Legislature’s website, the bill doesn’t yet have a House sponsor.

Of course. There is a difference between saying an act of partisan hackery by the Supreme Court put GW Bush into office, and advocating militia based resistance to Federal authority during the Bush administration because Bush was not a legitimate office holder.

I embrace the former and reject the latter.

There’s also absolutely nothing wrong with hoping a future court decides differently.

No, but there is something wrong about actively denying the current decision on the basis of wishful thinking alone, especially by a legislator when the make up of the court hasn’t changed.

I think that arresting people for violation of victimless marijuana laws is morally identical to kidnapping. However, you don’t see me advocating the murder of policemen in defense of such kidnapping victims. I wait for either the Court or Congress to come to their senses and in the meantime acknowledge that in such matters the police are simply doing their (highly unethical) job.

Obviously it depends, for fuck’s sake.

But I’m not foolish enough to think Roe V. Wade can’t be overturned. A lot of the people celebrating Heller seem confident it’s set in stone and will never, ever go away, and so they don’t bother making coherent arguments that don’t depend on it.

That’s why my arguments for allowing the legality of abortion aren’t just saying “Well, Roe v. Wade already settled that”.

Essentially Muslims in the US are treated poorly by some because people think we are “unloyal,” and hate the US. But most of us are loyal and support our nation.

Contrast this with the history of Mormonism. And they are accepted as full Americans? Even with the whole “Oath of Vengeance” thing, and the 1st September 11th Attack?

Another way of making the same point is that for a great many people in this country, their civil rights depend to a disturbing degree on Anthony Kennedy’s opinion on the subject at hand.

Not exactly settled for all time.

People on both sides of the political spectrum have a certain tendency to confuse rights as expressed in law (a political process and subject to change, e.g., by constitutional amendment), with rights as they ought to be (using arguments based on various principles to advocate change or preservation of legal rights).

As a matter of principle, we should have free speech in the US. However, it is a circular argument to say we should have free speech “because the first amendment says so”.

The proposition that most Mormons are disloyal and do not support the US requires more support than some rather musty historical incidents to be taken seriously.

If you do not want Muslims to be convicted in the court of public opinion on flimsy charges, it is best to not go there first.

That’s fine, I would expect you to feel frustration and anger at that. However, trying to transfer that to Mormons, or to make another group look more deserving of prejudice as a way to reduce those feelings is counter productive and frankly a form of bigotry.

Everybody’s theology (or lack thereof) is nuts to non-believers or believers in a different tradition.

Therefore, it is most unwise to get up on an absolutist high horse about someone else’s alleged theological issues.

I don’t see the relevance of the Ecological fallacy here (incorrectly inferring individual characteristics from group characteristics).

However, a golden rule exercise is usually a good idea.

In general, how do you feel about a small handful of incidents being used to smear Muslims as a group? If you think this would be unfair, then don’t do it yourself to any other group.

The fact that bigots like Bryan Fischer et al. smear Muslims every day in this manner is no justification for doing it yourself.
