Nothing overly interesting. Defense is still in the midst of its own discovery phase, with no indication that it’s close to being done. The SYG hearing is scheduled for sometime this spring, IIRC.

Pretty much. If I say more then I’ll be talking about Zimmerman. Now you’ve done it!

Yeah we wouldn’t want to say bad things about someone just because they stalk innocent black boys from the age of 7 up and sometimes shoot them.
I mean if men like that aren’t respected, then what is our nation coming to?
17 | goddamnedfrank Sun, Jan 27, 2013 11:25:34pm |
How confusing is the new NY gun law? Even the state police can’t understand it. For several days the NYSP website has hosted a list of banned models and erroneously included several specific shotgun models that are perfectly legal even under the new law. Now they’ve removed the list, my link goes to a copy of the original text.
But hey, who cares, right? These are only the highly trained professionals the people rely on to enforce the law, so what if it’s so cryptically written that even they can’t comprehend it. The important thing is that something was done, not that it be in any way likely to help.

Moron.
Can you deny that Zimmermann called the police to report seeing a “7-9 year old black boy”?
Can you deny that he stalked Trayvon Martin and called 911 even though the boy was doing nothing suspicious at all?
Can you deny that he shot him?
There are other black males he called the cops for seeing too.
What I said is a trivially obvious description of the known facts.
You don’t like it. Too damn bad.

Zimmerman is going to walk. There will not be sufficient evidence to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. That is very much the law’s fault and of the way that the local police dealt with the case and failed to gather sufficient evidence.
Am not looking forward to the verdict.

The Nazi government didn’t come to power through lawful means. They subverted the democratic system. Furthermore, a gigantic number of those Jews were non-German, so it wouldn’t have been their government anyway.

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area, which is set to get hit with a wintry mix today before the middle of the week turns into Indian summer as temps are supposed to get up to 60. All of a week’s worth of true winter temps, and we’re right back into a warmer than normal stretch punctuated with some cold temps on an occasional basis.
Hey, it might keep my heating bill down, but it’s not normal. And the amount of precip is down as well.
Those two factors are making things only slightly more tolerable for those who are still waiting for assistance. The last week, however, has been super rough on those who are still without heat or electricity due to storm damage with frigid temps.
The Senate is finally going to vote on the $50.5b aid package today, which means that President Obama will likely sign later this week. Unconscionable and unforgivable that it has taken 3 months to get aid approved. Unforgivable that the House GOP screwed with the Sandy victims in this way - forcing multiple votes and imposing standards that they themselves would never tolerate on any aid that would be forthcoming to them if they were in dire need of disaster assistance (and far too many of these sanctimonious GOPers are in districts prone to natural disasters of one sort or another - flooding, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, or earthquakes).
Their mantra has been we need offsetting revenues, ignoring the fact that getting businesses and residences back in operation will generate revenue, eliminate uncertainty and restore the economic activity in a region that is still affected by the disaster and which generates a significant portion of the nation’s economic output.
