Tea Party Group Sends Fundraising Email With Pic of Karl Rove in Nazi Uniform

Teabaggers do the darnedest things
Wingnuts • Views: 31,996

You know your Nazi analogies are getting out of control when you start using them against people who are basically on your side: Tea Party Group Pictures Rove in Nazi Uniform.

A top tea party group is taking its clash with Karl Rove to a new level, sending out a fundraising email Tuesday featuring a photoshopped image of the GOP operative in an SS uniform.

“Wipe the Smirk Off Karl Rove’s Face,” reads the subject line of the email, from Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder and national coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots.

The email features a photo illustration in which Rove’s face is grafted onto a photo of a uniformed officer in the Reichsführer-SS, an elite class of soldier in the German Schutzstaffel during Adolph Hitler’s Third Reich. The lower left-hand corner of the photo features the inscriptions “Reichsführer-SS” and “K. Rove,” and appears to match a photo of SS Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler.

The spokesman for Tea Party Patriots says it was an accident. Because anybody could end up with a picture of Karl Rove wearing an SS uniform in a fundraising email. There’s a lot of it going around.

Jameson Cunningham, a spokesman for Tea Party Patriots, said the image was added by accident. “The image was a mistake which was never approved by TPP,” he told POLITICO.

Gotta love those wacky, irrepressible teabaggers. They keep coming up with new ways to make themselves look like complete idiots. Good thing they’re not actually influential with the Republican Party or anything like that. (Cough.)

When all you’ve got left is a Godwin’s Law violation, you’ve got nothing.

The TP is bankrupt in all the ways that are relevant - morally and ethically.

It isn’t surprising that they’re going after Rove. He’s seen as an enemy just as surely as Democrats are because he represents the “old guard”.

But in the process, they’ve turned the TP into a circular firing squad.

Given the number of Tea Partiers that have been documented here as also being bonafide white nationalists, maybe they thought that giving Karl Rove that moniker was actually a compliment?

“You know your Nazi analogies are getting out of control when you start using them against people who are basically on your side…” Interesting how some fanatics reserve a special hatred for “the one that got away”: someone who (they think) SHOULD be 100% on their side, but whose purity is in doubt.

For example, I’ve read that for some Muslims, they’re OK with a Christian or a Jew being a second-class citizen. But they’re not OK with a Muslim who’s renounced his or her faith, i.e. an apostate. For these people, the penalty is death.

So it’s not surprising that sometimes, the nastiest nasties from the wingnuts are reserved for one of their own, so to speak, or one who’s close to being one of their own.

Arkansas House passes bill for Bible study

The Arkansas House approved a bill Monday to require the state’s Education Board to sign off on classes involving an academic study of the Bible.

Lawmakers voted 79-3 in favor of House Bill 1017 that would direct the state to approve elective Bible courses as long as they meet certain standards, such as an appropriate level of academic rigor. Republican Rep. Denny Altes of Fort Smith is sponsoring the bill.

OK. I searched and searched for a point in that wall of text, and came up empty.

I found it:

Rather than persuade voters to act against their own interests or to vote against their convictions, the left, with the aid of the media, manipulates those very convictions — public morality with religious voters, conservative ideology with traditionalists or tea party voters, and various stances on single issues, to persuade voters to waste their votes on obscure or bogus candidates, to throw support to hopeless or seriously flawed “pure” candidates, and in some cases not to vote at all.

Yes, it’s all the liberals fault! They make the poor, unworldly rubes vote for the Sharon Angle’s and Todd Akin’s of the world. And of course, the media is a willing partner.

The first comment is hilarious in its derpitude:

What will it take for people to finally recognize that the monster Hussein and the Marxocrats stole the last election through massive and systemic electoral fraud? The reason that people were “shocked” is because they could not bring themselves to believe what was happening right before their eyes; yet they must believe it if they are to be able to do anything productive about it. The Marxocrats have not perfected “manipulating the conservatives” via their media shills; most conservative voters don’t believe the left propaganda machine as it is. Rather, the Marxocrats have perfected using the utterly corrupt deep “blue” urban political machines to criminally generate the illegitimate “votes” necessary to negate the votes of the suburban and rural voters, thereby disenfranchising the majority of the voters in both “blue” and “red” states. We now live under an illegitimate and tyrannical federal government that is operating beyond the bounds of any constitutional restraint whatsoever. The Marxocrats have finally succeeded in their criminal enterprise of destroying the Constitutional Republic of old.

It’s all downhill from there.

Got an Idea to Take Over GOP From Establishment? Conservative Faction Eager to Know

Richard Viguerie, chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, announced on Monday that he would award a prize of $10,000 to an individual or group who submits a winning idea on how to complete the feat.

Contrary to what some people may think, argues Viguerie in the media release, the most critical political battle taking place in America now is not between Republicans and Democrats or conservatives and liberals, but the battle for the Republican Party between “establishment big government Republicans” and “limited government, constitutional conservatives.”

In their continuing effort to promote state’s rights, GOP governors cede power to the Federal government

A total of 26 Republican-led or Republican-leaning states have declined to establish insurance exchanges, a critical element of the heath care reforms ushered in by the Affordable Care Act, ceding control of a key part of their health care system to the federal government.

The ACA requires the creation of the one-stop marketplaces called exchanges to connect buyers and sellers of health insurance — the vehicle through which the law would expand coverage and protect consumers. The law encourages states to build their own exchanges under the guidelines. If they refuse, the federal government will build exchanges for them.

GOP congressman: Men cope with violence better than women

While discussing the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) on Sunday, Republican Rep. John Duncan of Tennessee claimed that men in general were better at coping with violence than women.

“Like most men, I’m more opposed to violence against women than even violence against men,” he told the Chattanooga Times Free Press. “Because most men can handle it a little better than a lot of women can.”

Duncan said he was undecided on whether to support reauthorizing the VAWA, a 1994 law that aids the victims of sexual and domestic violence.

Indiana school sorry for encouraging racist ‘Obama’ and gorilla masks at game

According to the News and Tribune, Highland Hills Middle School students were encouraged to create a “blackout” by wearing all black to the game against Parkview Middle School earlier this month. The Highland Hills team was mostly white, while Parkview had a number of African-American players.

At a Tuesday meeting with the New Albany Chapter of the NAACP, New Albany-Floyd administrators apologized to parents and students from Parkview and promised to follow up with a formal letter.

“There were more than three masks, it seemed like a whole cheering section right in back of our basketball team that either had on black nylon masks, they had on Obama masks and a bunch of gorillas and monkeys,” Lisa Barnett, who is a parent of one of the Parkview players, recalled during the meeting. “I couldn’t focus on the game because of these masks behind our boys.”

Oh, you know all the similarities: decorated war veteran who formed a political party and spent time in prison after a failed coup attempt against the sitting government, during which time he wrote a fascist manifesto blaming all the country’s problems on Jews, Marxists, Communists, and liberal Social Democrats. Practically the same guy.

Gas explosion at pizza parlor in Kansas City.

A gas explosion started the fire just before 6 p.m. at J.J.’s Restaurant near 48th Street and Belleview Avenue. People in the area said they smelled gas and heard the explosion.

James Armer said he was about a mile and a half away and heard the explosion and saw debris flying about 100 feet into the air.

Firefighters said were there preliminary reports of injuries in the fire. KMBC 9’s Johnny Rowlands said he saw 15 ambulances at the scene. St. Luke’s Hospital said patients with critical injuries have been brought to the facility and it was calling in extra staff members.

Flames and thick black smoke were seen pouring from the building and could be seen from miles away.

Chris Matthews: GOP using ‘Cold War CIA tactics’ to bring down U.S. government

“If they didn’t like a government somewhere — Guatemala, Iran, the Dominican Republic, Chile — they just brought it down,” he said. “Guess what, Republicans are now using the same tactic here at home. If they don’t like who we’ve elected president, they find some way to undermine the government, discredit its leaders, whatever it takes to destroy it.”

“We are using in this country the same old Cold War CIA tactics to destabilize our own country,” Matthews continued. “Look at the impact of the constant threats to shut down the government on public confidence. It’s all in the ratings. It’s making people forever nervous about the basic ability of America to even have a running government. Is that patriotic? I don’t think so.”

Monty Python’s Life of Brian, also known as Life of Brian, is a 1979 British comedy film written, directed and largely performed by the Monty Python comedy team. It tells the story of Brian Cohen (played by Graham Chapman), a young Jewish man who is born on the same day as, and next door to, Jesus Christ, and is subsequently mistaken for the Messiah.

I didn’t see anything offensive in it, especially considering that Christian fundies in particular view the Second Coming of Jesus as a fairly violent affair, all things considered. Oceans of blood, widespread desolation, slaughtering of the non-believers, that sort of thing.

I liked the pseudo-quote, “A less violent Passion of the Christ”. That made me chuckle.

That last sentence is the truth. American Christian folks really are a bunch of pansies. Considering there are places in the world where Christians really are hunted down and executed, you’d think that we as a collective religious group could learn to put up with a few people making fun of us. Yeah it was really inoffensive. I mean these people offended about as you say believe the second coming is going to be a violent affair. And yeah that was a good one too. I thought of it more as a parody of Quentin Tarantino whose films I do like than anything. Yeah seriously. There are Christians in part of the world who literally have to fear for their safety and these people on Twitter are upset about a two minute clip that arguably is more a mocking of Quentin Tarantino than their faith?

Feel the Christian Love.

I’m guessing this is because of the “sacriligeous” short video on SNL last Sat. nite called “Djesus Uncrossed.” Christophe Waltz, great actor BTW, plays Jesus as a vengeful gun toting cowboy/prophet. How it’s an assault on Christianity is beyond me. When right wing Christians talk of NBC (or anyone else) waging “war” on Christianity, what they really mean is that they’re angry and afraid that Christianity holds a slightly less dominant position socially than it once did.

OTOH, in political terms, it seems to have gained within the GOP as a motivating and unifying component. Ironically the party is more overtly Christian than it was under Saint Ronnie.

It’s a rather obvious parody of Tarantino and revenge flicks in general.

Some folks get upset about the most trivial thing, and if there was anything in that clip that was genuinely mocking Christian doctrine or beliefs, it would be a different matter. But there’s nothing in that clip that mocks Christianity, or even Jesus.

Just the latest fake outrage from the RWNJ’s. Until the next one. Life must be so difficult for them, being as they’re in a state of perpetual frothing-at-the-mouth, shaking anger.
