Erik Rush Warns Conservative Leaders Secretly Support the Imminent Obama Dictatorship

Conservative columnist Erik Rush has been warning over and over again that President Obama and his Democratic (and Chinese) allies are bent on creating a one-party, anti-Christian, communist state. But as we learn in Rush’s latest column, the leaders of the Republican Party support the looming Obama dictatorship as well!

Leaving aside for the moment the likelihood that parties and party politics in America will become moot within the next few years (owing to the emergence of a single party or the country’s dissolution into civil war), conservatives and libertarians are finding themselves at an unpleasant crossroads. While some observers gave up on the leadership of the Republican Party long ago, it is now becoming apparent to rank-and-file Republicans that the GOP leadership and its prominent operatives are wholly complicit in the fundamental transformation of America.

As a regular contributor to News Corps’ Fox News, none other than Pamela Gellar is a friend of Hamas.

Northrop Grumman, come on down, you’re a Friend of Hamas when you help build Iron Dome system components that are designed to intercept Hamas mortars, rockets, and missiles.

Kirkland and Ellis, a huge law firm; you’re a Friend of Hamas. That’s going to be bad news for K&E lawyers (and former UN Ambassador) John Bolton as well as Robert Bork and Ken Starr.

Oh, and every business interest is tied to FoH since the US Chamber of Commerce is a supporter of Atlantic Council.

Oh geez. Coultergeist is bleating about the Latino vote. I’d link to it, but it goes to Whirled Nuts Drooly and I don’t want to give them the traffic.

An excerpt of her fail:

If Republicans think we can have mass amnesty for millions of government-dependent immigrants and become a more libertarian country, they’re crazy.

This isn’t because of a failure to “reach out.” Republicans can’t beat Democrats at the government-assistance game. From single mothers to corporate subsidy-takers, they want your money, and the Democrats promise to give it to them.

Instead of trying to compete with the ethnic lobbies, welfare schemes and racialized politics of the Democrats, perhaps Republicans should allow our immigration system to admit more immigrants who won’t immediately go on government assistance, as 60 percent of new immigrants do now.

Putting 12 million to 20 million of them on a “path to citizenship” won’t make them like Republicans; it will make Republicans lose.

Someone remind me again how the GOP’s problem is its messaging, not its message.

What does British society of 100 years ago have to do with modern America save that they speak a similar language?

They had a rigid class-based society based on a priveleged landed gentry and an empire that dominated and oppressed a quarter of the Earth’s surface.

In the above video Biden says the following:

“If there’s ever a problem,” Biden said he told his wife Jill, “just walk out on the balcony here—walk out, put that double barrel shot gun and fire two blasts outside the house — I promise you whoever is coming in … You don’t need an AR-15, it’s harder to aim, it’s harder to use…Buy a shotgun! Buy a shotgun!”

If AR-15’s are harder to aim and use, then that kind of undermines the argument that they should be outlawed. They can’t at the same time be more conducive to mass murder while also being harder to aim and use. The advice to his wife to go out onto the porch, to an exposed position, and then empty the two rounds from her weapon into the night also doesn’t strike me as the sanest, most tactically sound or legally defensible idea ever.

Somebody in favor of renewing the AWB should tell Biden that’s he’s not helping the cause with this argument.

At this point, any is good.

After not taking proper care of myself for too long, it caught up with me. Around thanksgiving, I started eating a lot healthier and paying a lot more attention to what, how much, and when I ate. Haven’t had a soda since November, eating a lot more whole grain, fresh fruits and vegetables, yogurt, and trying to restrict myself from eating meat more than once a day. I’m also not killing myself with guilt if I break my diet once or twice a week. Today was the first day I started going back to the gym, just hitting the ellipticals and rowing machines to work on cardio, weight loss, and getting my abs back in shape. I decided to risk it and hit the scales on my way out of the gym.

America’s aging infrastructure:

Busted San Diego Water Pipe Installed When Taft Was President

A broken water line near Oak Park shuts down a major road. Another water main break clogs traffic in Point Loma. A busted pipe in the East Village backs up freeway commuters coming into downtown. That’s three big breaks in less than a week.

City Councilman Mark Kersey, who’s heading up the newly-formed Infrastructure Committee, said the majority of breaks occur in cast iron pipes that make up less than 10 percent of the city’s roughly 3,200 miles of water mains. And Kersey said those pipes, like the one that broke in the East Village, are really old.

“The water main that broke today is over 100 years old. It was installed when William Howard Taft was president,” he said. “And it’s, quite frankly, just in need of being replaced.”

[…]

Too many people today are so far removed from the requirements modernity has upon it by the physical universe. Very basic issues like water - potable, and sewage - are what separate us from the pre-modern society. Much of our infrastructure is now so old that replacement is upon us… but will we fund it?

Well the argument goes for all Stand Your Ground defenses, so women shouldn’t be “more” likely to go to jail than a man, except inasmuch as there’s still some vestigial bias against women endemic to the system. If there’s no ability to prove intent to rape then there’s equally no ability to prove intent to cause bodily harm against a male shooter, except in both cases for the presence of any weapons on the person shot, their own prior history, etc.

The Marissa Alexander case was a travesty, but more than anything it demonstrates exactly how bad an idea it is to fire off a “warning shot.”

Twas in Florida last year, pretty much lost in all the coverage of the Martin case. Woman had gotten a restraining order against hubby for years of physical abuse, but chosen to try to patch things up and so invited him to visit her. He got violent while there, so she fled to her car to get her gun, since the keys were in the kitchen and he was between her and them. She brandished the gun and threatened to shoot him, but he was prepared to attack her while even facing down a gun. She fired a warning shot, and he beat feet with their kids in tow. Went to the cops and reported her for discharging the gun in the presence of the kids. Judge sentenced her to 20 years on the excuse that she could have fled from the garage, even though hubby admitted on the stand that the garage door was broken and he knew there was no exit between him and her.

Looking at the recent know-nothing articles at NRO regarding climate change I wonder exactly what Rich Lowry, who was noticed earlier today trying to back away from the Friends-of-Hamas-derp in which he finds himself with his rag, is trying to accomplish at NR/NRO.

It’s no more substantial than Townhall, no fundamentally less racist than Takimag (except explicitly racist comments are removed, other than from the archives).

The entire segment of Americana known as “conservatism” is collapsing under the weight of it’s tarnished history.

No wonder there is a neo-neo-libertarian movement trying to redefine itself. And it is also clear that most 20-somethings today are not interested at all in carrying the water for their racist and ignorant grandparents.

‘Religious Liberty’ Panelist: Compromise is of the Devil

The ADF’s Fiedorek focused on the “great peril” to religious liberty posed by the “agenda to expand sexual liberty and redefine marriage.” She said in the conflict between sexual liberty and religious liberty, “people of faith” are “the ones being marginalized.” She recounted a litany of such “persecution,” including now-familiar stories of a New Mexico photographer and a Colorado baker who were penalized under state anti-discrimination laws when they declined to serve same-sex couples celebrating commitment ceremonies. Fiedorek compared cases in which businesses are required not to discriminate against gay couples to requiring an African American photographer to take pictures at a KKK event or a Jewish baker to create a cake decorated with a swastika. She called it “particularly atrocious” that Catholic social service agencies were being required to abide by anti-discrimination ordinances – and were being “forced” to close. She began and closed her presentation with quotes from the movie Chariots of Fire, ending with one that includes, “Don’t compromise. Compromise is a language of the devil.”

Because in spite of what one’s intentions are, discharging a firearm is inherently dangerous. Even at the range, with all safety precautions in place you need to keep your head in the game. In an occupied home in an occupied neighborhood your intent pretty much has to be lethal in order for it not to be reckless.

Police called after man refuses to remove pasta strainer from head

A Motor Vehicle Commission office in New Jersey called the police on a man who refused to remove a pasta strainer from his head while having his driver’s license photo taken.

Aaron Williams, 25, said his pasta strainer was a religious head covering and that he had a right to wear it, according to a South Brunswick Police Department report obtained by The Smoking Gun.

Police informed Williams that a pasta strainer was not approved by the MVC and convinced him to take the photo without it.

If she’d actually shot him then the law would be on her side. Even if she invited the husband in, under Castle Doctrine there’s no reasonable expectation for her to retreat to the garage - the judge got that part completely wrong. I agree that the case is a travesty and that 20 years is a completely outlandish and unjustifiable punishment. However warning shots are intrinsically dangerous and society is right to treat them as such.

Good thing I’m not defending the LaPierre’s argument, just like I’m not asking you to defend Biden’s reckless idiocy. If you want a less than lethal option you get a taser or some pepper spray. If you pull the trigger on a warning shot you own whatever gets broken downrange, and own the fact that pulling the trigger without a clear, immediate, justifiable target is in and of itself a reckless decision.

What of Biden’s recommendations do you consider reckless?

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking really. That it’s a critique of the minority, relatively powerless religions in the U.S., such as Jews, Muslims, and Sihks.

Which honestly strikes me as fucked up and not a noble stand to take at all.

Going outside, to an exposed position, and emptying a double barreled shotgun at an unspecified “problem.” If a lethal response is warranted, then Castle Doctrine says you’re in a much more legally defensible position by staying indoors. Going outside, shooting twice and leaving yourself vulnerable and without cover seems kind of stupid, but that’s just me.

Context for the Biden shotgun thing:

Joe Biden’s Shotgun Advice Could Land Jill Biden in Jail

In a Facebook “chat” Tuesday, the vice president said that he had advised his wife, Jill, to fire a shotgun in the air from their Delaware home’s porch if she was concerned for her safety.

“I said, ‘Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out and put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house,’” Biden said.

“You don’t need an AR-15—it’s harder to aim,” he added, “it’s harder to use, and in fact you don’t need 30 rounds to protect yourself. Buy a shotgun! Buy a shotgun!”

However, Delaware law would likely make his suggestion illegal—unless the shots were fired in self-defense in a truly life-threatening situation.

A sergeant with the Wilmington, Del., police department explained to U.S. News that city residents are not allowed to fire guns on their property.

The sergeant, who preferred not to be identified, said that Wilmington residents are also not allowed to shoot trespassers. “On your property you can’t just shoot someone,” he said. “You have to really feel that your life is being threatened.”

The younger FO is the attention-slug here and closest to being a lap cat. He climbed up while I was doing a crossword while dinner was cooking to get a few pets and ended up lying on his back cradled on my left arm with all four paws in the air while his head got scritched. I do disagree with the specifics in Feinstein’s bill and don’t think anything she or Biden has brought to the table is going to do anything to reduce gun violence. For the most part though my criticism is that they are’t doing anything to target compact handguns, which are the one used in the vast majority of firearms crime.

Think that has more to do with going after weapons that are fairly easy to argue serve no legitimate legal purpose, i.e. hunting or self-defense. An effort against handguns would have been pretty much DOA.

Capital gains and other investment income was taxed as regular wage income from 1986 until 1996, when the capital gains rate was reduced. It was further reduced as part of the Bush tax cuts, and over the last decade, it has reversed the equalizing effects of taxes and allowed for massive income gains for the wealthy that translated directly into increased income inequality:

At the very least they should shift them into the Silencer category under the NFA. Require an ATF Form 4 and $200 tax stamp for all purchases and transfers. If we actually gave a shit about impacting gun crime in some meaningful way that’s what we’d do.

Doable might be shifting them into the AOW category, which reduces the tax stamp to $5.

Yeah, what she did should be and is a crime. Certainly sounds like an interesting route to consider. Question is, would it pass muster before SCOTUS. Scalia in Heller acknowledged that the 2A has limits, but those limits have not yet been defined.

I think it’s a lot more likely to pass SCOTUS than the kind of uncompensated taking of private property that’s in the NY SAFE Act and that Feinstein’s proposing. More importantly it’s a lot more likely to have a real, measurable impact on gun crime, which I was under the impression was the actual goal here.

In the above video Biden says the following:

If AR-15’s are harder to aim and use, then that kind of undermines the argument that they should be outlawed. They can’t at the same time be more conducive to mass murder while also being harder to aim and use. The advice to his wife to go out onto the porch, to an exposed position, and then empty the two rounds from her weapon into the night also doesn’t strike me as the sanest, most tactically sound or legally defensible idea ever.

Somebody in favor of renewing the AWB should tell Biden that’s he’s not helping the cause with this argument.

GDF, I’m sure you get this, but for discussion-
Biden mangled that whole thing. Step out and show yourself with a gun? That is easily some of the most foolish, dangerous advice I have ever heard spoken. The shotgun thing is good advice for a person that wants something deadly and easy to aim and operate.

That discussion, like that same discussion with anyone looking at defensive options really needs to include highly trained and experienced defensive expert instructors. I happen to be a guy that went through the gamut from sophisticated electronic alarms to martial arts to simple weapons to firearms.

None of this distills down well to talking points. Not a bit of it.

In these pages I have seen so much crap that revolves around anger at crime, the NRA and the RWNJ. All well and good for blogging.

Well at some point the irrelevance of all that to actual personal choice has to be declared. Straw men, exaggerations, hyperbole. These are the things preventing rational intelligent discussion, reform and policy. The big stats are good to know. Like how unlikely it is to get hit by lightning. National Geographic says the odds are one in 1/775,000. Pretty safe. Unless maybe you golf in Tampa bay a lot. Now those odds are very different.

Those thinking about self defense need to look at their circumstances carefully.

While I could go with AOW, the main reason it won’t happen is those small handguns are the growth industry for gun makers. Just look at what’s being pushed on the Ruger or Smith & Wesson/Walther web sites. There’s enough lobby money there to keep the “concealed carry” category safe from any significant federal regulation.

Fear doesn’t justify recklessness. What she did should have been a misdemeanor, a few weeks and a suspended sentence. If she’d shot the husband then it’s not a crime. Ask yourself if the genders were reversed if you’d be okay with an abused husband (and they do exist) inviting his estranged, abusive wife home, then firing a warning shot through a wall with children in the house?

I think it’s a kind of chauvinism to cut a woman greater slack for behaving recklessly in the face of fear. It plays into the same sexist argument used by those who don’t think they have a place serving in front line military units.

Our disagreement isn’t gender based. I certainly know that women can be threatening and abusive. I also know men who wouldn’t shoot the mother of his children even if she was coming at him with a weapon (I know in this case the man was unarmed) or was otherwise threatening, but might discharge a gun to scare her.

I think that if she was justified in killing him then she was justified in trying to scare him. Our disagreement comes from my background in criminal defense. If she had a self defense defense to killing him then she had the same defense to firing to scare him. Her choices were kill him, let him beat her, or try to scare him away. But if they’d offered the sentence you would impose I would probably have recommended she take it.

That bold portion is an excellent point. I’m not a gun advocate really I’m a self defense advocate. People need to have room to defend as they best can. Since we rightly punish excess force so much, we need to also be fair to those who try to use less force and make a mistake. Well said Majacita. BTW how did you choose that nic?
