George Zimmerman’s Brother Compares Trayvon Martin to Georgia Baby-Killer Suspect

Black teenagers with middle fingers
US News • Views: 39,560

Robert Zimmerman, Jr., brother of Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman, continued his everything-including-the-racist-kitchen-sink PR offensive on behalf of his brother by repeatedly tweeting a photo comparison of the teenager his brother shot, and De’Marquise Elkins, the 17 year-old who has been detained in the murder of a Georgia infant. Both pictures feature the young men flipping the middle finger at the camera, with the caption “A picture speaks a thousand words…Any questions?”

Zimmerman has, thus far, tweeted the comparison to the Anthony half of Opie and Anthony, Michael Moore, the NAACP, and a Breitbart News editor, as well as the NRA. If Zimmerman’s point is that anyone who uses that gesture is a murderer, then they’re going to have to arrest the entire Garden State Parkway. If you suspect that wasn’t his point, you might be right.

No, George W. Bush is white and from a good family, so he can’t be a scumbag killer. Scumbag killers are lower-class blacks, silly.

/I wish I was kidding, but that’s how some people still feel.

Why? Because that’s now how it’s done. For what? Apparently the cause.

If he’s trying to convince people that he and his brother are scumbags, he’s doing a great job.

The conservative cult looks worse every day.

So every 17 year old that’s ever flipped the bird is someone who deserves to be shot? Got it.

These people are sick. For all of the victim blaming that TM has gotten you would think he’d been a rape victim or something.

McVeigh was wearing a t-shirt with those words and Lincoln’s picture on it when the Feds nabbed him.

However, “sic semper tyrannis” is also Virginia’s state motto (which, IIRC, the Zimmermans hail from) long before Booth uttered that phrase at Ford’s Theater and it’s the city motto of Allentown, PA.

Still, most Americans associate it with Booth.

It’s older than that. Booth associated the phrase with the assassination of Caesar, even though nobody’s been able to prove Brutus ever actually said it.

Nah, they just spent months getting drug through the mud, until it came out that the prosecutor, an attorney general up for reelection, had pressed forward with the case despite exculpatory evidence and having never spoken with the victim, and then willfully hid evidence from the defense. Meantime, the media spent its time chewing the boys to ribbons to assuage racial biases, Duke canceled the team’s season and expelled the accused, and the Duke faculty made utter asses of themselves by publishing a joint editorial ripping into the school’s athletics programs.

Mississippi State Rep. Jessica Upshaw found dead

Simpson County Coroner Terry Tutor says state Rep. Jessica Upshaw has died.

Tutor said the Diamondhead Republican died Sunday.

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation spokesman Warren Strain says the crime scene unit is at a home in Mendenhall, investigating her death.

Neither Strain nor Tutor would comment about the cause of death. Strain says it does not appear to be a natural death. The Clarion-Ledger reports the lawmaker died from a gunshot wound to the head, citing state Capitol sources.

Simpson County Sheriff Kenneth Lewis tells The Clarion-Ledger that she was found at the home of former Mississippi State Rep. Clint Rotenberry, who has not been arrested.

“We can’t really call what happened yet. I don’t know if it’s a suicide or what,” Lewis told the paper.

Possibly not unrelated: The guns and ammo hoarding frenzy continues unabated, despite the (utterly predictable) failure of the Pelosi assault weapons bill. Shooting super-store Cheaper than Dirt has ONE 5.56 assault rifle on its website, a Smith and Wesson M&P priced at $1795.00 (twice what it was a year ago). The only .22 LR semi-auto rifles they have are Walther Uzis for nearly 600 bucks. They do have a handful of .223 ammo types available, for about a dollar a round. Manual action .22s like the Crickett are in stock but even they are going for very high prices.
I knew, of course, that a great many people believe with all their hearts that Obama and the libruls are coming for their guns, all of them. It is still scary to see this graphic illustration of just how many such true believers there are, and that they are serious enough to act on their fears at the cost of literally billions of dollars.

The gun ownership rate (~35-40% of American households) has remained relatively flat, maybe even dropped slightly in the last few years. Thus most of the buyers already own guns, in many cases quite a few guns. They’ve bought into the hysteria, literally, and the NRA probably isn’t really all that upset about it, since they’ve done nothing to disabuse gun owners of the fear that Obama wants to confiscate all their firearms.

Gun manufacturers aren’t doing too badly either. Guns are such durable items that most owners don’t feel a constant need to purchase new firearms. Unless they’re “gonna be taken away by Obama.”

Are aircraft carriers about to become an endangered species in the United States?

Budget pressures at the Pentagon have renewed a debate about the value of the US Navy’s giant aircraft carriers, with critics arguing the warships are fast becoming costly relics in a new era of warfare.

With the Pentagon facing $500 billion in cuts over the next decade, a Navy officer has dared to question the most treasured vessels in his service’s fleet, saying the super carriers are increasingly vulnerable to new weapons and too expensive to operate.

“After 100 years, the carrier is rapidly approaching the end of its useful strategic life,” wrote Captain Henry Hendrix in a report published this month by the Center for a New American Security, a Washington think-tank with close ties to President Barack Obama’s administration.

Changes in naval warfare mean that carriers “may not be able to move close enough to targets to operate effectively or survive in an era of satellite imagery and long-range precision strike missiles,” Hendrix wrote.

Thieves Steal Entire Bridge in Western Turkey

Earlier this month, the inhabitants of a small village in the Golcuk district of the Turkish province of Kocaeli awoke to find something different.

The village’s main bridge over a local creek — all 22 tons of it — was gone.

According to the Turkish publication Today’s Zaman, the dumbfounded villagers, who used the bridge to reach their orchards, alerted police about the theft on March 11. Police suspected that thieves dismantled the 82-ft.-long span to sell it as scrap metal — probably for about $12,000, noted Gizmodo. Authorities are still investigating the matter.

George Zimmerman is going to walk. There is no way they can come up with enough incontrovertible evidence to convict him.

The role that Stand Your Ground played in the incident will remain “academic”, i.e., the gun nuts will shout until they are blue in the face that it had nothing to do with it at all.

And the role that the police played will also remain unclear, too much time and evidence has been destroyed or ignored.

Heavy snow flurrying going on in Philly - with it starting to turn into slushy slop on some of the intersections. Lots and lots of happy commuters as a result. (And reports have it that Punxsutawney Phil has gone into hiding.)

Big crane and little crane finished putting together red crane and then disappeared into the night — leaving the street clear to be snowed on. So I get to look forward to a red crane boom looming overhead for the next year or so. :p

On the sports front all sorts of typical odd college basketball results. And in pro ice hockey the Penguins beat the Flyers in OT to run their winning streak to twelve games.

OMGzzzzz DHS MARTIAL LAW!!!!!

My comment will surely be deleted by the poster of that vid but I replied to his “DHS bought 2700 armored tanks…” nonsense.

No they didn’t, the vehicles in that contract that people are claiming were “bought” by DHS already belong to the Marines. The contract is with the NAVY not with DHS and it is to retrofit the vehicles with new chassis and suspension to improve their off-road capabilities. These are not new vehicles, they are ones returned here after use in Iraq and elsewhere in the middle-east.

This “2700 armored ‘tanks’ for DHS” nonsense has been completely debunked repeatedly, try looking up the facts.

Hopefully at least few non-idiotarian type people will see that before he takes it down and not fall for this bullshit.

I am also talking about the bigger questions surrounding this trial. I see it as given that Zimmermann will walk at this point. The question is one of what kind of society and legal framework we have created in which we legalize these sort of armed confrontations that lead to unnecessary vilence.

Thanks! I got one of those trial Blue Cigarettes over the weekend and it’s ok. I got a different e-cig last year but it tasted like shit. The Blue is good, but I think I would prefer taste that is a bit stronger. They offer strength options if you buy the rechargeable one, which I think I am going to get (one for hubby too, as he keeps saying he wants to quit, but if I don’t quit with him, neither of us will succeed). Hell, even if I cut back and don’t quit I would be happy. I smoke WAY too much! And I don’t really care about the smoking part itself, but the cost is outrageous. I think cocaine is cheaper than cigarettes. :-D

Good luck and good for you!!

North Korea ‘defeats’ US troops in new video

The four-minute video, titled “A Short, Three-Day War,” begins with images of a massive artillery and rocket barrage, followed by a large-scale land and air assault with North Korean troops streaming over the border.

The video was posted on the North’s official website, Uriminzokkiri, which distributes news and propaganda from the state media.

The video’s male narrator describes different stages of the invasion, including the destruction of forces under the US Pacific Command with “powerful weapons of mass destruction.”

“The crack stormtroops will occupy Seoul and other cities and take 150,000 US citizens as hostages,” he says.

The video shows footage of paratroopers jumping from the sky superimposed over an aerial shot of the South Korean capital, with North Korean military helicopters hovering overhead.

They sell kits for the ego twist that come in pairs. That’s what the wife and I are doing. It produces a good amount of vapor and there are a lot of flavors available for it (as well as variable nicotine levels).

We have a vapor store near us that we go to and they do ship out. They have a ton of flavors including cigarette, cigar and pipe tobacco. I prefer the tobacco ones myself since I was a smoker and while i like the exotic flavors I am not sure I could use them regularly (like a hookah).

As for myself, I wouldn’t mind seeing it disbanded. I didn’t like it from the moment Bush implemented it. I have no worry about the crazy shit those people worry about, I just don’t like an entity like that with way too much power over citizens. They have the incompetence defense. They believed it was true since they’re gullible idiots, so it’s not slander or libel.

And I’m serious, this is the legal defense in situations like this, and it’s perfectly valid under the first amendment. We don’t limit the speech of people just for being completely gullible evil-minded fuckers. In Britain, they do, but that can lead to people not being aggressive enough in their reporting, because you have to be able to afford to fight the court case.

On the whole, I think our system is better, since people can still libel in Britain, they just have to be sneakier about it.

NRA decides “Connecticut effect” is over, starts robo-calling Newtown residents

“I received one of these,” Newtown resident Christopher Wenis wrote on Facebook Thursday afternoon. “I was insulted and offended.” Wenis told The Huffington Post in an interview Friday night that in the 36 hours since he first posted his response, he received two more robocalls from the NRA, one later on Thursday night and one on Friday evening.

“I’ve got a 5-year-old son who went to preschool on the Sandy Hook Elementary School campus,” Wenis explained. “And this was a really hard week for me on a lot of levels. These calls were the very last thing I needed.”

Wenis said that he called the NRA twice to request that his name be placed on a “Do Not Call List”—first on Tuesday and again Thursday. He said an NRA phone operator assured him he would be removed from NRA call lists. But the calls kept coming. By Friday night, Wenis said, he was desperate to be left in peace.

The NRA insists it’s just calling its members and supporters in Connecticut, but the calls seem to be going to Newtown residents who are neither, and are pissed about it.

Wow, what a bunch of assholes (I mean, we knew that already but still…)

Jetblue Passenger charged with groping sleeping woman

In the document, the woman says that her alleged groper, who was traveling with his 12-year-old son, was trying to chat her up before the plane ever took off, and that “conversations throughout the flight all turned to a sexual nature.”

She was seated on the aisle and claims that she once volunteered to get something for the male passenger from the overhead bin so that he wouldn’t have to climb over her to get to his belongings. His response, according to the affidavit was to say, “I’d really like to climb all over you.”
The man admits on the record to having had one drink before takeoff and a couple more while in the air.

The female passenger eventually took something to get to sleep, but about 40 minutes before touching down in NYC, she says she awoke to find the man’s hand under her skirt and massaging her thigh.

By way of defending himself, the man allegedly said, “It’s not like I molested you. It’s not like I stuck my finger in your p**sy or grabbed your t*ts.” According to the affidavit, he admitted to authorities that he could have said those words.

Making things even more uncomfortable, the woman says he then told her, “I wouldn’t mind a massage right now.”

She says she left her seat, which allegedly resulted in the man asking her, “What’s the matter you don’t trust me anymore?”

The woman says she only sat back down right before the plane landed at JFK.

Several weeks after the incident, Port Authority Police investigators interviewed the man, who says he thought the woman was flirting with him. He claims she had told him he was attractive and a good dad. He believed the two had developed a “bond” and claims he didn’t think she would mind him putting his hand on her thigh, though he maintained that he never put his hand under her skirt.

He has been charged with simple assault.

I just…I mean God, I can’t believe people still think this way…

I keep wondering if Menendez will sue the Daily Caller for that whole story. I mean, they said he was going to the Dominican Republic and having sex with underage girls. If someone accused me of that and it wasn’t true, I’d sue them into oblivion. I mean, that’s character assassination and slander/libel. WTF.

Public figures have a higher standard to deal with than others. He might not want to go through the ringer but he’s pushing for the law enforcement agencies in the DR and US to prosecute those involved. If that goes back to Daily Caller’s top people, then they too will get prosecuted on a variety of charges including conspiracy, RICO, mail fraud (the catchall for interstate frauds), etc.

Moar freeloaderz taken from all product citizens:

NASHVILLE — Two nights a year, Tennessee holds a health care lottery of sorts, giving the medically desperate a chance to get help.

State residents who have high medical bills but would not normally qualify for Medicaid, the government health care program for the poor, can call a state phone line and request an application. But the window is tight — the line shuts down after 2,500 calls, typically within an hour — and the demand is so high that it is difficult to get through.

There are other hurdles, too. Applicants have to be elderly, blind, disabled or the “caretaker relative” of a child who qualifies for Medicaid, known here as TennCare. Their medical debt has to be high enough that if they paid it, their income would fall below a certain threshold. Not many people end up qualifying, but that does not stop thousands from trying.

Fischer: If People Made the Connection Between Gay Rights and Sex, It Would ‘Gross Them Right Out’

On Friday’s radio broadcast, Bryan Fischer asserted that the success of gay rights movement is dependent upon a deliberate effort to “keep the eyes of Americans off what it is that homosexuals do when they come together” because if people actually think about it, “it’s going to gross them right out” since people have a “visceral moral reaction” to that kind of “deviant behavior”:

Hmmm, nope. No visceral moral reaction here.

200 lawhawk  Mon, Mar 25, 2013 10:09:12am

People, especially the Tea Party, keep ignoring that income taxes are just one tax that people pay to governments (fed, state, local).

Payroll taxes to cover Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Fuel taxes.
Excise taxes on alcohol, tobacco, and cigarettes.
There’s sales tax in most jurisdictions.

The former (payroll tax) is taken out of paychecks, up to the statutory limits on income.

The latter is paid based on consumption. So, the more you drive, smoke, or buy, the more tax you pay.

1 apple
1 pear
1/2 c. ground almonds
2 Tbsp. red wine

Peel & dice apple & pear. Grind in food processor. Add almonds. Grind some more. Put into a plastic container & refrigerate.

Add the wine just before the Seder like after you’ve already had the 1st cup. If you forgot to add the wine to the charoset, pour another cup.

He was sorta the “voice of reason” when Rick approached him about Michon back at the prison. I figured he would somehow be involved with her rescue. I’m guessing there is going to be some massively unresolved events next week….just in time for the season to conclude. My guess….the Governor captures Rick’s daughter and renames her ‘Penny’. My 2 cents….

Yeah, ugh!

I’m only making a very small amount. I bought prepared horseradish to serve with the gefilte fish, so I just need to grind a very small amount for the seder.

It’s too cold to open a window. For this my kids had to leave Florida because I guilted them into coming here?

I overcooked the gefilte fish, but it’s probably better that way because in previous years it came out very mushy. Anyway, everybody like the fresh broiled salmon but I always make gefilte fish because…TRADITION!

One thing I’ve noticed about Walking Dead is that whenever characters do anything even remotely resembling noble gestures, they pay for it in the end.

Merle doesn’t turn over Michonne to the Governor — okay, toast.

Dale had that big “12 Angry Men” moment when he argued against killing Randall — shortly thereafter, worm food.

Lori chose to give birth to her daughter — dead.

Jimmy, Beth’s boyfriend from Herschel’s Farm, rescues Rick and Carl from the barn — oops!

Otis goes with Shane for medical supplies for the group — how’d that work out for ya, Otis?

I tell ya — when the zombie apocalypse finally happens, I’m stealing a boat and heading for the first deserted island I can find.
