A woman who was at the Boston marathon to cheer on a friend was identified today as the second person to die in the terrorist bombing.

Second Boston Marathon Victim Identified as Krystle Campbell

No time indicated on ABC’s page, except today.

Reading about Krystle and earlier Martin Richard is a good reminder of the human costs of these tragedies. These victims are our friends, sons, daughters, cousins, etc. That’s what makes it so heartbreaking and then eventually we forget the victims and remember only the perp which is natural I suppose given mass deaths but damn still. I still remember reading about the one professor at the VT shooting, a Holocaust survivor who sacrificed himself for his students. So some things stay with you long after the story fades from the pages.

Lot of my friends went to Tech and were at VT when the shooting happened. I just remember seeing the victims in the papers and thinking that it could have been any of them. It fortunately for me wasn’t but others weren’t so fortunate.

Just beautiful. Reminds me of the 2001 World Series, after the Yankees lost Game 7 to the Diamondbacks, when both teams had a very nice postgame ceremony honoring the memory of September 11.

But given the historic rivalry between the Yankees and the Red Sox, the Yankee’s current gesture is very special.

Michigan-Louisville NCAA title game draws 23.4 million viewers

Michigan’s loss to Louisville in the NCAA men’s basketball championship game last week was watched on television by an estimated 23.4 million people, the Nielsen company said.

It was easily the most-watched program on prime-time television last week, beating its closest competition by more than six million viewers.

The game drew more viewers than the NCAA championships during each of the past two years, which both had around 20 million viewers. Connecticut defeated Butler in the 2012 championship game and Kentucky beat Kansas last year.

Last year my mom passed. I had brought her up here to help her live out the time she had left. It’s is one the hardest thing you can do, but afterwords you have the peace of knowing you have given dignity and kindness to the one you cared so much about.

Spent the day working with HR to arrange taking time off as needed, talking to various people as a POC in case of emergency and other assorted fun stuff. Then has to head to my kids’ school for a parent teacher conference and got stuck in a lockdown because a man with a gun was spotted across the street.

So big fun all around basically,

Spend as much time with him as you can. I was only able to see my mom once after she was diagnosed and I’ve regretted it ever since. Don’t make that mistake.

Can’t stress how important hospice can be. It literally saved our family’s mental health during mother-in-law’s last months a few years ago. And gave mom the dignity of spending that time at home with family.

Matt Barber: Religious Freedom & ‘Gay Marriage’ Cannot Coexist

“Gay pride” necessitates anti-Christian hate. It must. “Gay marriage” and other “sexual orientation”-based laws do violence to freedom and truth. They are the hammer with which the postmodern left intends to bludgeon bloody religious liberty and the Judeo-Christian sexual ethic.

According to the unequivocal moral precepts of the Judeo-Christian tradition – explicit throughout both the Old and New Testaments – homosexual behavior is a sin. Sin is evil. Homosexual behavior is the central, defining characteristic of so-called “gay marriage.” Therefore, “gay marriage” is evil. Christians are obligated to avoid sin – to “do no evil.”

I know; it’s not popular to speak such simple truths in today’s politically correct world. But I’m not out to win a popularity contest.

Go fuck yourself Matt.

There will be lots of photos of suspect packages and suspects floating around - and some will have FBI logos on them if Alex Jones has anything to say about it - when the FBI identifies the bags, which is going to be soon, they’ll have brand new ones to hold up for the cameras and say, “Anyone with a picture of an asshole carrying this, please call us.”

Perhaps he needs to be reminded of this:

Omagh Bombing

The Omagh bombing was a car bomb attack carried out by the Real Irish Republican Army (RIRA), a splinter group of former Provisional Irish Republican Army members opposed to the Good Friday Agreement, on Saturday 15 August 1998, in Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Twenty-nine people died as a result of the attack and approximately 220 people were injured.

or this one

1996 Manchester Bombing

The 1996 Manchester bombing was an attack carried out by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) on 15 June 1996 in Manchester, England. The bomb, placed in a van on Corporation Street in city centre, targeted the city’s infrastructure and economy and caused widespread damage, estimated by insurers at £700 million (£1 billion as of 2013). Two hundred and twelve people were injured, but there were no fatalities.

and another

1993 Bishopsgate Bombing

The Bishopsgate bombing of 24 April 1993 occurred when the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) detonated a truck bomb on Bishopsgate, a major thoroughfare in London’s financial district, the City of London.

One person was killed in the explosion and 44 were injured; damage initially estimated at £1 billion was caused. As a result of the bombing the “ring of steel” was introduced to protect the City, and many firms introduced disaster recovery plans in case of further attacks.

Ironic since he is calling for more security cameras, though I guess he would know, at least from the other side.

Star Trek looks really good. Trailer did its job.
Those, photos from HDH don’t have any timing hints. Are they from the same camera? It appears that people seem to be thrusting forward. If the two shots were just a second or so apart, I don’t think that the seating area would look so empty? Then again if this is the second bomb, then people sitting may have gotten up, and vacated that area in the 11 seconds between blasts. I just hope that some wise asses don’t start sending in Fotoshpd stuff.
