I find tornadoes to be beautiful and fascinating. Of course you never want to see people get hurt by them, but they are a natural phenomena and you have to take them into account when building in the area, just like homes in CA are built to earthquake standards.

Where Are The Tornado Shelters Across Oklahoma?

Note that for the cities that do have shelters, they are primarily there for people who are caught outside in severe weather. Emergency managers and meteorologists largely agree that having a severe weather plan ahead of storms and being able to shelter in place (unless you live in a mobile home) are your best bets for surviving tornadoes.

Moore has no public shelters.

Norman has two. The Irving Recreation Center (not FEMA rated) and the Whittier Recreation Center (not FEMA rated).

Edmond has no public shelters.

Oklahoma City has no public shelters.
