Far-Right Extremists Chased Through London by Women Dressed as Badgers

Making fools of bigots
World • Views: 38,905

Any day you see a headline like this has to be a damned good day. Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller’s British allies on the extreme right, the English Defence League and the British National Party, were upstaged and shouted down today by women dressed as badgers.

And also, Brian May.

A rally by extremists from the British National Party and the English Defence League was dwarfed by opposition campaigners staging rival protests in London on Saturday 1 June.

Shortly after lunch, a die-hard core of around 50 BNP and EDL supporters was confronted outside parliament by hundreds of activists from anti-extremist groups including Unite Against Fascism and Hope Not Hate.

But in the event, both groups were upstaged by agitators of a different stripe. Decked out from head to toe in black and white, the group that won the day were campaigning for neither for race war nor ethnic equality, but an end to the government’s cull on badgers.

And it was the pro-badger campaigners who appeared to steal a march on the political activists.

Young women dressed in fake fur were seen chasing doughty nationalist supporters down London’s Whitehall as a large number of security forces in iridescent jackets looked on from police lines.

Led by Queen guitarist Brian May, protesters in fancy dress demanded an end to the government’s cull of badgers, brought in to stop the spread of bovine tuberculosis.

They chanted: “Smash the cull! Smash the BNP!”

The badger chicks seem ok but there’s not much to like about the antifa folks. Almost as bad as the people they’re protesting against. Last I checked all of the arrests today were antifa folks.

BNP candidate Clifford Le May was left with a bloody nose after being caught up in a rival enclave of human rights activists.

He looks to be about 50 or so, and here he is being beaten by a bunch of 20 year olds.

Sorry but that’s a shitty thing to do. As much as I dislike the BNP I’m not going to cheer people beating them in the streets. Antifa does itself no favors with shit like this, they only alienate people who would otherwise be on their side.

So just to check, you still find pepper-spraying unarmed women in the face who aren’t being in any way violent hilarious and awesome, right?

About Clifford Le May:

The political career of Croydon Central’s BNP candidate is in jeopardy as he is being investigated by his own party after ranting about “violent immigrants” in New Addington.

Clifford Le May is in trouble for his response to a Tory questionnaire encouraging residents to raise any concerns with London mayor Boris Johnson.

His reply was to write: “Stop ruining our community by stuffing New Addington with violent immigrants who have no right to live among decent civilised white people.”

In the questionnaire he also refers to his Tory rival for the Croydon Central seat, Gavin Barwell, as a “traitor to his race and nation”.

Farce or tragedy? I’m not at all sure that the dark forces which are stirring can be diverted by this kind of stunt. Time will tell.

What about unarmed women who are protesting the financial meltdown? Should they be pepper-sprayed in the face?

See, I ask, because when that happen, you thought it was hilarious, and said the only thing better than watching it was watching it in slow motion.

So whence comes this concern about violence, after celebrating it? Did you realize how wrong it was to cheer on the attack of those women?

18 Killgore Trout  Sat, Jun 1, 2013 5:10:31pm

I wouldn’t support violence against the Westburough Babptists or the Klan either. They are douchebags but they do have a right to believe what they want without being beaten.

Why the disconnect?

No, we are not looking at a solitary old geezer being attacked by a bunch of 20 year olds as you claim - we are looking at a scuffle involving several heavily built club bouncer type BNP thugs and some of the demonstrators:

And the pepper-spraying of non-violent female protesters (who you fatuously and stupidly identified as “Marxist trust-funders”, which turned out to be completely false) is one of those cases?

Why does pepper-spraying non-violent female protesters get a pass from you?

They are going to have to retire Dr. Who in another season or two. It has reached peak coolness and anything more that a couple seasons is going to be a letdown. Retire it and reboot in 10 years or so.

Mentioned this earlier. Bit of a shock, as I really, really liked the chemistry between Matt and Jenna as Doctor and Companion.

A little sad, especially as I just got yelled at by my own dad yet again, this time for leaving the fridge door open for 20 seconds while pouring myself a soda.

Last night, after drinking 4-5 Bud Lights through a space of 3-4 hours, he left the kitchen lights on for at least 2 hours while he slept.

My Birthday is in 2 weeks. I am hoping it is better than the last one.

My last one in picture form.

It’s worth catching up on. I really only started paying attention this last season but I’m going to go back and catch up on all the stuff that I missed. I remember the series as kid, so I remember it from the late 70’s/early 80’s. They kept the original feel and humor, the writing and acting are excellent. It’s really a very well thought out series.

Oculus Rift Co-Founder Tragically Killed as Bystander in High Speed Police Chase

It’s with heavy hearts that we report the tragic death of Andrew Scott Reisse, the 33-year-old co-founder of Oculus VR. A Santa Ana resident, Reisse was walking in a crosswalk when he was hit and killed at the end of a high speed police chase earlier this week, according to ABC News in Los Angeles.

I find his films translates better to Western audiences in general than most Japanese comedies do. That said most of the people I’ve shown Minbo to were already big Kitano fans, etc., so no explanations were necessary.

I think just knowing that the Yakuza think so highly of themselves, and that that’s the point of the satire— but yeah, it’s a lot more accessible than most Japanese cinema in general, especially comedy.

That being said, some Western people can’t deal with the totally side vignettes in Tampopo too, like the old woman squeezing peaches in the store.
