Buzzfeed: “Obama Loses Cool, Snaps at Staffers” (Not)

WTF?

Video

There was a little mix-up at President Obama’s speech in San Jose this morning; he didn’t have his prepared remarks at the podium.

So Buzzfeed headlines their article like this: Obama Loses Cool, Snaps at Staffers in Speech Mixup.

OK, folks. Watch the video above. Whoever thinks this is “snapping” is hallucinating. He didn’t even raise his voice, and he said it with a smile, in a joking manner.

Seriously, Buzzfeed. WTF?

UPDATE at 6/7/13 10:38:01 am

Fox Nation jumps all over this ridiculous story and adds some dishonest distortion of their own: ‘Uhhh…Uh…Uhhh….People!’ Obama at Total Loss for Words When Staff Forgets His Speech - Fox Nation

President Obama strolled out to the podium today in San Jose, CA and was immediately at a loss for words. Not only did the President not have teleprompter, his aides forgot his speech.

“My remarks are not sitting here,” the President declared awkwardly. “I’m uhhh….people….oh goodness….uhhhh…folks are sweating back there right now.”

President Obama, who’s often mocked for an over-reliance on scripts, shifted uncomfortably smiling for several moments buying time. An aide sprinted out with a hard copy of the speech, tripping at one point, adding to the drama.

Un-freaking-believable.

Obama has learned how to be a scary angry black man without actually being angry. You see he hides his rage at America and all that is great about her by smiling and making jokes. That’s how diabolical he is.

OT.

foxnews.com

A list that I can’t really comment on since I have only been to one of the sites.

And the historical comment about Mel Gibson’s character from “The Patriot”, Francis Marion, and Monmouth doesn’t make sense. “Battle of Monmouth” and “Battle of Monmouth Courthouse” are the same event. And I don’t think Francis Marion ever served north of the Carolinas. Perhaps a bad reference to the “Battle of Guilford Courthouse”.

Then again, we’re talking FOX and historical accuracy and fact checking.

12 Beauzeaux  Fri, Jun 7, 2013 10:25:11am

It’s truly horrifying the lengths these clowns will go to put out the “angry Black man” theme. They’d shit themselves if ever confronted by an actual angry Black man — especially someone lacking the President’s impeccable manners.

Alex Pareene:

If an audience exists for a BuzzFeed of the right, BuzzFeed will happily be the BuzzFeed of the right, because capitalism. In fact, they are already producing cheap viral crap for conservatives to like on Facebook. Recent attempts include What It Feels Like Being a Conservative on the Internet, which went viral but was deemed “fail” by the BuzzFeed community, and “7 Things Democrats Would Have Freaked Out About if Bush Had Done Them,” which was voted both “win” and “fail.”

The author of that latter piece, Benny Johnson, was hired (from Glenn Beck’s the Blaze) basically explicitly to create viral conservative content. (Well, and regular viral content, too.) He’s also recently big-upped Utah Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz and — pay attention, NRCC — counted down “13 Ways Republican Can Win the Internet.” (I can sum up: It seems that the RNC postmortem was tl;dr.)

Actually one of the things this points out is Obama’s lack of self-absorption. If this happened to Bush, he’d make a comment about himself. He always saw things as they related to him.

But Obama’s comment was a wry self-aware comment about how his staffers were going to react.

Obama and Kennedy are/were the two wittiest presidents we’ve ever had. Maybe Lincoln, but since we didn’t have 24/7 back then, hard to tell.

I think a fun little experiment would be to go back through (non-famous) speeches/writings from Nazi Germany, replace “Jew” with “Muslim”, then make a twitter account putting out a steady trickle of them and see how many right-wingers like/retweet/whatever twitter does for approval.
