Anti-Muslim Bloggers Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer Banned from Entering the UK

Wingnuts • Views: 32,321

Text of letter from Home Office to Pamela Geller (Robert Spencer received a similar letter):

The poisonous duo

Dear Ms. Geller

I am writing to inform you about the British government’s measures for excluding or deporting extremists under the Unacceptable Behaviour policy. The list of unacceptable behaviours covers any non-UK national whether in the UK or abroad who uses any means or medium including:

  • writing, producing, publishing or distributing material,
  • public speaking including preaching
  • running a website
  • using a position of responsibility such as a teacher, community or youth leader

to express views that:

  • foment or justify terrorist violence in furtherance of particular beliegs,
  • seek to provoke others to terrorist acts,
  • foment other serious criminal activity or seek to provoke others to serious criminal acts,
  • foster hatred which might lead to inter-community violence in the UK.

The list is indicative and not exhaustive.

The Home Secretary has considered whether, in light of this list, you should be excluded from the UK. After careful consideration on 25 June 2013 she personally directed that you should be excluded from the United Kingdom on the grounds that your presence here is not conducive to the public good. The Home Secretary has reached this decision because you have brought yourself within the scope of the list of unacceptable behaviours by making statements that may foster hatred which might lead to inter-community violence in the UK.

After careful consideration on 25 June 2013 she personally directed that you should be excluded from the United Kingdom on the grounds that your presence here anywhere is not conducive to the public good.

Much more accurate now.

Only way it’s a “victory” is if the GOP puts the spin on EF-5 and thinks that this will GOTV in November and next year’s midterms.

Well, guess what, they’re going to have energized Democrats GOTV to deal with after yesterday’s VRA decision - and that affects more people than gay marriage does (as in everyone).

Gay marriage doesn’t deprive anyone of their rights. It extends the rights and access to benefits to all persons who marry, not just those who are in heterosexual marriages.

The VRA Section 4 overturn deprives people of protection against disenfranchisement. And we’re already seeing states rushing to take advantage of this by introducing legislation to limit the right and access to vote and gerrymandering of districts. The same states that were previously limited through preclearance.

It isn’t (as I read it) here expression of an unpopular opinion. It’s her history of active support and incitement of hatred and riot - of encouraging others to act on their hatred ‘regardless of law or politically correct opinion’ (I think that was the quote, certainly an accurate paraphrase.).

Banned in Britain: UK Caves to Jihad - Atlas Shrugs

Britain capitulates to jihad

In a striking blow against freedom, the British government has banned us from entering the country. Muhammad al-Arifi, who has advocated Jew-hatred, wife-beating, and jihad violence, entered the U.K. recently with no difficulty. In not allowing us into the country solely because of our true and accurate statements about Islam, the British government is behaving like a de facto Islamic state. The nation that gave the world the Magna Carta is dead.

Again, as I’ve said many times before on this issue: They don’t have a problem with theocracy. They have a problem with the Wrong God being in charge. They couch this in terms of ‘freedoms’ and ‘objectification of women’ (when referring to Sharia) because contrary to popular belief, they are not stupid — only villainous. They know that “we have to put the Christian God in charge before the Muslim God gets there first” won’t fly in a largely secular nation, so they attempt to appeal to secular notions of liberty instead.

This is also why we have Intelligent Design instead of Creationism these days. They know they can’t win by saying that schools should teach god, so instead they say that schools should ‘teach the controversy’ about intelligent design, thus sneaking god under the table.

Thankfully the 1st amendment protects Americans from this, we do not have such luck.

You’re confusing Marx with Lenin. Marx was an economist, philosopher, and Socialist; Lenin was the advocate.

He’s not a whistleblower. He took a job to deliberately steal classified information. That’s not whistleblowing.

A whistleblower would be like the people at Enron who exposed the malfeasance going on there at great personal and professional risk.

Swastika and racist graffiti saying ‘EDL’, ‘KKK’ and ‘NF’ daubed on windows and walls of Redditch mosque that is still being built.
Police are hunting racist thugs who broke into a mosque early this morning and scrawled Nazi swastikas on the walls and windows.
The vile graffiti was spotted at Redditch Central Mosque in Worcestershire by officers who were investigating reports of a break-in at the place of worship at 4.30am.
The yobs are believed to have broken into the site, which is under construction, some time after 2am by forcing a gate before using paint from a builders’ cabin to spray the hateful messages.

They’re probably saying the same thing about all the people lining up for marriage licenses today.

It’s going to be fine. The states where this is going to occur are states that Democrats can’t win in anyway (mostly). Hispanics have mostly been an apathetic voting group. Imagine how apathetic they’re going to feel when they learn that the state has thoughtfully made it 10 times harder for them to vote than it is for suburban white folks. My guess is having white politicians sticking their fingers in Hispanic eyes will probably combine with the fact that the House isn’t going to take up the Immigration bill to create an absolute shitstorm in Texas.

This crap is why I keep pointing out the state’s interest: having a defacto and default power of attorney. If you’re unavailable (physical or mental) then an adult can act on your behalf. A child or animal cannot.

Multiple defacto/default powers of attorney are inherently unstable — there will inevitably be conflict between holders which would require resolution. It also negates the default disposition of property, giving the state no benefit over NO default. Therefore polyandry (whether -gamy or -gyny or group marriage) is dissuaded. That said law could be developed to deal with the circumstances; numerous cultures have done so in the past.

Penny Nance of Concerned Women for America claimed today that anti-gay marriage activists should get ready for “persecution” now that the Supreme Court has overturned the Defense of Marriage Act. Speaking on The Mike Huckabee Show, Nance warned that same-sex marriage is like “counterfeit money” that “takes at something that’s the real deal and diminishes it,” adding that the legalization of polygamy is coming next.

Later in the show, Nance said the government will “cast aside” around “two thousand years of tradition” and “hurt everyone” by recognizing same-sex unions.

Yeah, but the thing is that chat log is from 2009:

“those people should be shot in the balls” … “that shit is classified for a reason” … “these are the same people who blew the whole “we could listen to osama’s cell phone” thingthe same people who screwed us on wiretappingover and over and over againThank god they’re going out of business.”

Now recall this from Snowden’s first Greenwald interview:

Q: When did you decide to leak the documents?

A: “You see things that may be disturbing. When you see everything you realise that some of these things are abusive. The awareness of wrong-doing builds up. There was not one morning when I woke up [and decided this is it]. It was a natural process.

“A lot of people in 2008 voted for Obama. I did not vote for him. I voted for a third party. But I believed in Obama’s promises. I was going to disclose it [but waited because of his election]. He continued with the policies of his predecessor.”

So there’s a conflict here between Snowden’s narrative/timeline he presented to Greenwald and his extemporaneous IRC chat logs.

Lionel Hutz was probably available.

re: #22 Vicious Babushka

No matter how many of Geller and Spencer’s supporters scream about them being “silenced,” it won’t make a difference to the British government. They have their laws, and they’re following them. It never surprises me that some Americans think that, because they’re Americans, they can impose their system of laws and beliefs on other nations. Geller, Spencer, and their supporters are getting a much-needed lesson on a nation’s right to sovereignty.
