Erick Erickson Shows Us Once Again How the Right Wing Really Thinks

Horrible people

I actually had a little internal debate with myself over the wisdom of posting this, because Erick Erickson is so clearly trolling with this horrible comment, and I resisted giving him any more publicity. But since he’s now deleted the tweet, it should be preserved to show how today’s right wing really thinks, and the kinds of disgusting evil thoughts they’re not embarrassed to put out there in public: Fox’s Erickson Directs Liberals to Coat Hanger Sales Site After Texas Abortion Bill Passes.

Erickson was gloating over the Texas Senate’s passage of the most backward anti-choice legislation in the US. Today he tweeted quotes from Bible.

Folks, take a look at what’s going on here. This really is the face of the American Taliban.

UPDATE at 7/13/13 5:59:59 pm

Erickson says he deleted his tweet because the company to which he linked objected.

Not because it was so vile he felt ashamed.

The second tweet there disturbs me more than the first, in a way.

The first tweet shows me that Erick Erickson does not understand the subject of the second tweet at all. God isn’t big on taking malicious glee at the discomfort of others.

So ‘justanotherhuman’ had the right of it:

Go to hell, Erickson.

A horrid nasty bit of offal. That’s the nicest thing I can think of to say about him.

As I said a few days ago, I remember quite clearly a woman on our street, a young mother, who died from a back alley abortion. In 1972. This isn’t some stupid joke and it’s not only liberal women who have abortions. It’s not a fucking political game, women are going to die. Again. Erickson should have to sit through looking at photos of women who died from botched abortions and septicemia from nasty kitchen “clinics”.

I really hate these fucking assholes. They HATE Americans, they really do. And they have the nerve to say they want their country back? Oh Please. They keep getting their way, there won’t be a country left to do a damn thing with.

Never trust the fuckers that are energized by the prospect of a future chance to hurt their opponents with impunity.

The scariest shit that’s happened in history, it’s never been about left/right. Left/Right is localized, zeitgeist-bound, and relative. Even indices of authoritarianism are bound by context. The real horrors come from the politics of irrationality and ego, the people that can’t assess facts from their strong feelings, whose incomprehension and bias equally color science and religion into chauvinism.

Erickson:

I must offer up my sincerest apologies to the kid killing caucus that took it on the chin or other body parts in Texas last night.

After days on end of abortion supporters in Texas holding up coat hangers and then, yesterday, throwing feces, urine, and tampons in defense of killing kids, I tweeted out a link to a coat hanger wholesale store.

The kid killers were offended.

I suppose no one actually has physical evidence to support this charge of urine/feces throwing.

Don’t count on it. In 2004 the hysterical left was so screwed up that George W. Bush won re-election. I see the left acting now the same way they were acting in 2004 over Snowden. So between that and gerrymandered districts, I still see trouble for sane people.

Now, I expected them to be offended because I was mocking their hyperbole. But they actually seem to think I was seriously suggesting some policy for the GOP.

I am so sorry. I forget that feminists and other pro-abortion activists really are as humorless as they are stereotyped to be.

In the future, I promise I’ll remind myself constantly you people really believe throwing tampons and raising coat hangers can stop the will of the people who overwhelmingly support prohibiting late term abortions. And I will act accordingly.

In the meantime, again, you have my apologies for offending you for thinking I was being serious instead of accurately realizing I was mocking you and your outrageous hyperbole and lies.

He thinks coat hangars are ‘hyperbole and lies’. They are not. They are history. The battle is against them being the future, too.

No, given the level of malice he’s exhibited I’d say he’s a psychopath, not a sociopath. Sociopaths have no regard for the feelings of others, but psychopaths are often actively sadistic: They cause pain deliberately because they enjoy hurting people.

He’s a lowlife lying ass liar. He didn’t delete the tweet because the company objected to his using it. The lying weasel deleted it because of the negative feedback he got on Twitter. He always says sh*t and then runs like a coward when someone confronts him. He was on my city council, and he did the same thing. Basically, he’s a big talking coward who retreats when someone has the guts to question him about something he says. When Megyn Kelly confronted him last month about his comment about working women ruining” our society, or some such mess, you could see him shriveling up before your eyes on TV.

I don’t think EE is a sociopath or a psychopath. I think he is talking big because it makes him feel important and he is able to pretend to himself that women don’t ever really need abortions.
He’s kind of low on empathy, and I don’t like what I’ve seen of him, but to call him mentally ill is to distance him from humanity. The problem is that he is representative of ordinary humankind and is engaging in behavior that we all could, if we didn’t stop and engage our higher mental powers.

I’ve watched in horror as this religious right anti-woman craziness has gained in strength in the past decade. I thought this debate was over in America long ago, but obviously I underestimated the right’s crazed, obsessive persistence.

Yes, but they shouldn’t be. It might be possible to divert a sociopath by showing him that he doesn’t have to inflict harm to get what he wants, whereas a psychopath fill inflict pain anyways because he gets off on it. The difference between the two are thus of great import.

When you apologize for being an ass to someone, you don’t stab them in the back while doing so, or use it as an oppurtunity to attack.

I’m pro-choice, at least for the vast majority of the pregnancy, e.g. to week 24. “Safe, legal, and rare” seems like a reasonable goal in regard to abortion. And excellent access to sex education and contraception, to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the first place.

Now I must say I can appreciate the pro-life viewpoint. I don’t agree with it, because I just don’t think government can make it work, as evidenced by the literally millions of unsafe abortions in this country before Roe vs. Wade. But emotionally, I can relate to being pro-life. I would go so far as to say that abortion is one issue where I’m not totally certain of my own feelings.

So I was thinking about this whole issue recently. The last thing in the world that occurred to me was GLOATING (like Erick Erickson). I was thinking in terms of heartrending life situations and life decisions. The whole idea that for some people, this is about power over others, that they live to impose their theocratic views on others, simply was off the radar for me.

So, I was mildly stunned to read this post. I would have expected a comment from some well-known pro-life person like “OK, now, the unborn are protected. Their families will thank us someday.” Instead, I get “I win, you lose, I have power over you, you’re weak and powerless and you’ll probably hurt yourself very badly with a coat hangar.” Yes, as is often pointed out here at LGF, many of these right-wingers are really sick.

That’s why I despise calling them “pro-life” because they’re simply misogynistic anti-abortion proponents who thump their bibles at anyone who doesn’t think as they do and accept male authoritarianism.

They repeatedly cut programs and care nothing for the children who are carried to term nor the ones here. If they were truly “pro-life”, they would also be against the death penalty and war as well, and have no problems with a woman making decisions pertaining to her own life situation.

No, they’re reactionaries who want everything their way, and the rest of us can hit the highway. There is absolutely no compromise of any sort with them.

Yes, these people are so pro-life they drool over the death penalty, cream themselves over war, want to end programs that help the poor and hungry children, do not want health care for anyone (just die, and die quickly for all they care), want guns in the home of every American and want them easily available even to those who should never have them ever, and have been dancing on the grave of Trayvon Martin since Zimmerman’s verdict was announced. These fetus worshipers are not pro-life and never have been…they are nothing but control freaks, the abusive boyfriend or daddy figure using the abortion issue like every other piece of red meat, social issue they dangle in front of the noses of their hopeless lemming followers.
