Black People Riot!!! Oh, Wait - White Woman Shoves Elderly Black Man Over Zimmerman Verdict

He only wanted to dedicate a song to Trayvon
Music • Views: 38,690

A woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly jumping on stage at a music festival and attacking a legendary musician after he dedicated a song to Trayvon Martin, according to police and eyewitnesses.

The woman, who police identified as 43-year-old Dinalynn Andrews Potter of Barstow, apparently yelled, “it’s all your fault” before shoving 73-year-old Lester Chambers, his family said Sunday.

“She had a crazed look in her eye,” said Kurt Kangas, a friend of Chambers who ran to his aid. “I saw the devil there.”

Chambers was performing at the Hayward Russell City Blues Festival downtown when around 5:15 p.m. he dedicated Curtis Mayfield’s hit “People Get Ready” to Martin, the 17-year-old shot and killed by George Zimmerman.

Aren’t there a lot of white-trash tweakers around Barstow and Bakersfield? No offense meant to any people of the Caucasian persuasion who may happen to live in the Central Valley.

Not sure how long that will last if one of them is supposedly shopping a book deal.

They’ll eventually make themselves known in public, but I really can’t fault them for the outcome. Bad law, bad policing, and prosecutors putting on a poor case all came together to produce the result we saw over the weekend.

Reid Says He’d Take Up A Vote On 20-Week Abortion Ban

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said Sunday he would allow a vote on the Senate floor on a bill that would ban abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy, but emphasized that such “fringe issues” should not be the focus of Congress.

“It’s the Senate, we’ll take it up,” Reid said on NBC’s Meet The Press, adding, “I think we should deal with the problems that affect this country. We need to do something to help the working class and stop worrying about fringe issues.”

WTF Reid?

Reid Says He’d Take Up A Vote On 20-Week Abortion Ban

WTF Reid?

He’s always been anti-choice.

Senator Reid, reflecting a pro-life view, believes that Roe vs. Wade should be overturned. He stated in a 1998 National Political Awareness Test that he believed “Abortions should be legal only when the pregnancy resulted from incest, rape, or when the life of the woman is endangered.”

Heh. To be fair, he’s apparently voted several times for bills to prevent RR protestors from being able to block access to abortion clinics, and has consistently voted for better access to sex ed and birth control (even co-sponsoring a bill with Senator Clinton to that effect).

But he’s a Nevada Democrat, which makes him a “blue dog” in a lot of ways. Probably why he was tapped for Majority Leader; theoretically he could find common ground and a reasonable negotiating position with GOP Senators better than most.

Right, KTVU used to be a respectable local, independent news organization-even in its earlier years as a Fox affiliate. Less so now. Of course all TV news seems to be going down that road.

I think it does more to damage KTVU’s image than Asiana’s.

But reports I’ve seen since then indicate that KTVU already had the names, then called NTSB “to confirm”.
And when they called they got an intern who probably thought “WTF?” and everyone had a nice laugh and then put it on the air.
Besides, why would anyone at KTVU even think about calling anyone to confirm names that were an obvious attempt at a bad joke?

Fun with math. Trump and Hoft come up with a doozy.

Obamacare was enacted in 2010 - so the 10 year estimate is for the 10 year period.

Note the chart they’re referencing. They look at Obama’s baseline. Then compare it to the 2013-2023 period.

That’s not the same as 2010-2020. The proper comparison would be to examine the 2010-2020 period, as adjusted each year’s estimate from the CBO.

So you’d see how the CBO scores the 2010-2020 period comparing apples to apples.

Looking at what happens in 2023 is three years beyond what the initial CBO scoring did. Not apples to apples.

Not that Trump, or Hoft, care.

Definitely poor phrasing, but it’s a forgivable mistake.

I worked in the gaming industry for several years and interacted with Asians of many nations, and I guess my point was that it’s a little bit inaccurate to assume or imply that “Asians” in the US are a monolithic block. Each Asian country’s citizens have their unique traditions, attitudes and self-perceptions (and, like all good humans, prejudices). To assume that “Asians” respond similarly is to demonstrate a lack of insight.

You can’t really judge how another nation’s citizens are going to perceive damage. This does NOT originate from Korean-Americans. It originates from South Korea. What we consider merely harmless and stupid might just be perceived differently by the offended party.

Gohmert: Kill immigration reform and Hispanics will say, ‘Republicans really like me’

Gohmert said that Republicans needed to make it clear to immigrants that comprehensive reform was being stopped to “preserve a country that Hispanics will want to come to.”

“If we are not willing to follow the law, we’re going to lose that, and I’m afraid that people do not realize how serious things have gotten,” the Texas congressman said. “But, yeah, we could possibly pay in the polls in the short term. But just as you’ve had more and more African-Americans realizing, ‘Wow, we have one party that’s pandered to us, doled out government benefits, kept us from reaching our God-given potential.’”

Republicans, however, Gohmert said, wanted Hispanics to learn English “because we want you not to be a ditch digger because you can’t communicate. We know you are smart enough to be president of this company and to be president of this country if you’re born here.”

“And if we don’t communicate that message we could pay for it,” he warned. “We could in the short term, but in the long term, I think you will see people start waking up and go, ‘Wow, I’m Hispanic, these Republicans really like me.’”

Now if we going to fulfill Dr. King’s dream of a color-blind but character-based society, we must have a transcendent standard of character and conduct by which to measure the conduct of men. Heroic teen saves Pennsylvania girl from kidnapper

Boggs and a friend, Chris Garcia, walked outside again only to discover a swarm of police in the streets. They were all searching for 5-year-old Jocelyn Rojas, who was taken by a man while playing in her front yard just two hours earlier.

Boggs and Garcia hopped on bikes and began peddling frantically. Suddenly, about a half-mile away from the apartment complex, Boggs spotted her in a dark red car being driven by white man, said to be approximately 50-70 years old.

The two boys followed the vehicle for about 15 minutes as the driver took a winding path through shady neighborhood streets before realizing the teens were onto him. That’s when the man reportedly pulled over at a stop light, pushed his young victim out of the car and sped away.

Wait, Louie, I though you didn’t believe in evolution.

I think Louie is trying to pull a “AH HA!” moment. Where by if you believe in Evolution, then you can’t support gay marriage, and if you do support gay marriage, then you don’t believe in evolution.

GOP logic.

Somehow I missed this piece of crap first published in the Miami Herald in 2012, but feel my instincts about Z were absolutely spot on, even as he seemed to try to appropriate street talk for himself. Sure, it’s old stuff, but it shows his core thinking.

Sorry, GZ, you’ll never make it to law school, not with your semi-illiterate self. I rather doubt you’ll make it through a 4 yr degree.

That seems to be a common “gotcha” thing with creationists: “oh yeah, well if gays can’t pass down their genes, how did homosexuality evolve? Checkmate, libtard!”

It, of course, requires willful ignorance of the research done by biologists on the origins of homosexuality and how it might produce evolutionary advantages for the herd.

196 Kragar  Mon, Jul 15, 2013 2:20:08pm

Because if nature has taught us anything, its that those thousands of other species which have exhibited homosexuality are all on the verge of extinction.

Gay marriage: Peers approve legislation
Same-sex marriage in England and Wales is a step closer to becoming law after the House of Lords approved the change.

Peers backed a government bill paving the way for gay couples to marry. It is set to become law by the end of the week, with the first weddings in 2014.

Labour’s Lord Alli said its passage meant “my life and many others will be better today than it was yesterday”.

But Tory peer Lord Framlingham said the “ill-thought through” change had been “bulldozed” through Parliament.

Peers approved the principle of same-sex marriage last month, despite efforts by opponents to “wreck” the legislation.

MPs had earlier done the same, in the face of opposition from many Conservatives, the Church of England and other faith groups…

Apologies if this has already been posted:

dangelber.com

Self defense jury instructions in FL prior to the stand your ground law changes:

The defendant cannot justify the use of force likely to cause death or great bodily harm unless he used every reasonable means within his power and consistent with his own safety to avoid the danger before resorting to that force.

The fact that the defendant was wrongfully attacked cannot justify his use of force likely to cause death or great bodily harm if by retreating he could have avoided the need to use that force. “

Corresponding part of the Zimmerman jury instructions:

If George Zimmerman was not engaged in an unlawful activity and was attacked in any place where he had a right to be, he had no duty to retreat and had the right to stand his ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he reasonably believed that it was necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.

This pretty much kills and buries any argument that SYG wasn’t the root legal cause of this mess.

WASHINGTON—Following Sunday’s not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial, an exasperated and speechless nation could reportedly do nothing other than wish black teenagers good luck out there, saying that they’re definitely going to need it.

“Yeah, I don’t know what to tell you other than keep your wits about you and hope for the best,” Alexandria, VA resident Michael Klein advised the nation’s 10 million African-American youths. “Honestly, I’d recommend just staying inside after sundown if you can.”

“Try to stay safe, okay?” he added.
