Ted Nugent Says He’s “Anti-Racist,” Then Compares Black People to Dangerous Dogs

Media Matters

It’s always a bit amazing to see right wing loons like Ted Nugent issue emphatic, categorical denials that they’re prejudiced or racist in any way, then segue right into blatantly racist hate speech.

National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent claimed to be “so anti-racist” that people “would be hard pressed … to find someone who has fought racism more than [he has],” moments before suggesting that African-Americans should be profiled the same way members of a community might profile a breed of dog that was attacking children.

[…]

NUGENT: I think that typically when you see the, I don’t even remember the term they use, but the gangs of blacks lately that have been just been going down the downtown streets and breaking windows on cars. We played the Milwaukee state fair a couple years ago and these black mobs were just attacking white folks coming out of the fair. And over and over again I watch the news and here’s a rape and here’s a burglary and here’s a murder in Chicago. 29 shot. 29 blacks shot by 29 blacks. At some point you got to be afraid of black and white dogs if the Dalmatian’s doing the biting.

Ted Nugent, of course, has also been a guest more than once on the openly racist Memphis-based radio show Political Cesspool, which regularly features people like David Duke, Pat Buchanan, and a host of other white nationalist Neanderthals. His name appears on their guest list, along with quite a few other names you might recognize.

(That guest list page has now been deleted from the Political Cesspool website, by the way.)

Ted Nugent is anti-racist in the same way that North Korea is a people’s democratic republic.

Seldom does the “protesting too much” label fit as well as it does to Nugent and his protestations that he is not a racist.

But..but..’bad dogs’ are good in the inverted world of bad-assed rockers, right?

Also,

We played the Milwaukee state fair a couple years ago and these black mobs were just attacking white folks coming out of the fair.

Is there any reputable news source that will confirm this allegation, or is this like the “Miami race riots” that happened after the Zimmerman verdict?

Watched the That 70’s Show Episode last night where they go to the Ted Nugent concert. My wife asked who he was, I explained. We skipped to the next episode.

Funny part of that episode though is when Fez and Hyde try to sell Ted Nugent shirts, but Fez had them printed as “Tad Nugent”.

Nugent: Stevie Wonder’s Florida boycott inspired by drug abuse

Speaking to right-wing talk show host and occasional Fox News contributor Andrea Tantaros on Tuesday, National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent declared that musicians like Stevie Wonder, who plan to boycott the state of Florida in the wake of George Zimmerman’s acquittal, are brain-damaged from a lifetime of drug abuse and must not know what they are doing.

“When you live in a fog of denial, usually inspired by a substance abuse — you know with all the lies about dope being a victimless crime, I think you’re listening to the victims of this dopey crime, because their brains are fried,” he said. “They’re either fried on substance abuse, and all of them know who I’m talking about.”

Nugent added that he thinks it is hypocritical to boycott Florida when the city of Chicago has one of the worst violent crime rates in the country. “Sometimes you can’t bring truth into a liar’s life,” he said, adding that he plans to boycott Chicago instead.

Can he boycott California too then?

Machine-Gun-Toting Police Chief Says Viral Videos Were ‘In Support Of The Constitution’

Gilberton, Penn. police Chief Mark Kessler said Wednesday he was exercising his First and Second Amendment rights when he posted profanity-ridden videos to YouTube, in which he fires machine guns and calls Secretary of State John Kerry a “traitor” for supporting a U.N. arms treaty.

In a phone interview with the Pottsville Republican-Herald newspaper, Kessler defended two July 15 Youtube videos that went viral this week, one up to 31,319 views Tuesday from just 3,280 views on Monday by that newspaper’s count. The videos show him in plain clothes firing automatic weapons while going on verbal tirades about gun rights.

“I think the video is in support of the Constitution — the support of the First Amendment, the right to express your thoughts and words freely without reprisal from any government,” Kessler told the Republican-Herald. “That’s why I used the vocabulary I did. As for the firing of the guns, that is my Second Amendment right. I have the right to keep and bear arms regardless of what the government says that I don’t.”

And ever since then, GOP fiscal policy has been very clear —- if they get into power, they spend like drunken sailors on their own priorities (e.g., tax cuts and wars), to line their own pockets and to deliberately increase the federal debt.

If the Democrats get into power, the GOP re-discovers its ‘concern’ for fiscal policy as a tool for obstructing anything and everything the Democrats try to do, and to use as leverage to gut long-standing programs such as social security and medicare.

JFK did roughly the same for his service. Was rejected from Army for health reasons, specifically back issues (he was a very frail man.)

But he used his family’s connections to pull the strings. He got into the Navy instead.

Instead using his family’s connections to keep him out of the war (ala GWB.), he used them to get into the war.

His older brother died in a pretty ballsy way. Love the Kennedy family.

I see that William and Kate have named the new addition George Alexander Louis. He is third in line to the throne, but as Jay Leno pointed out last night, it is a really slow moving line. Consider: Wyatt Earp and Rudyard Kipling were both still alive when the current monarch was born (in 1926, Earp checked out in ‘29, Kipling in ‘36).

He got into the Navy despite his daddy’s wishes. Remember, Joe Sr. was planning a family dynasty at the time. He tried like mad to keep his boys out of the service and, when that failed, tried to get them into roles that would keep them away from the fighting.

GHWB seems, and indeed always seemed, to have a sense of noblesse oblige that GWB lacked. Lied to get into the war when he was underage, instead of coasting to get out of one, for example, or his years as Ambassador and DCI.

Yeah, this might be the biggest difference between the Republicans of yore and today’s breed. Yesterday’s version had a sense of civic duty. Today’s version is about milking the country for all its worth, then dumping gasoline in and lighting the match.

Remember the “fuck you, pay me” scene in “Goodfellas”? Yeah, that’s how the right sees the country now.

There was a time when I sort of begrudgingly admired him as an idiosyncratic, rough-hewn individualist, but he has long since permutated into a major dickhead.

September 2, 1944: Ensign George HW Bush rescued by USS Finback after Bush was shot down during a raid on Japanese held Chich-Jima. After the war, the Japanese commander at Chichi-Jima and four other officers were hanged for EATING American PoWs.

Youtube Video

It was a damned close call:

Nine crewmen survived after being shot down in the raids. One was picked up by the American submarine USS Finback. He was Lieutenant George H. W. Bush, who later became the forty-first President of the United States. The others were captured by the Japanese and were executed and partially eaten as POWs, a fact that remained hidden until much later. The names of Flyboys were Jimmy Dye from Mount Ephraim, New Jersey, Floyd Hall from Sedalia, Missouri, Marve Mershon from Los Angeles, California, Warren Earl Vaughn from Childress, Texas, Dick Woellhof from Clay Center, Kansas Grady York from Jacksonville, Florida, Glenn Frazier from Athol, Kansas, and the Unidentified Airman, who was revealed to Bradley as Warren Hindenlang of Foxboro, Massachusetts after the publication of the hardcover edition

This x100. Even if we had a GOP that wasn’t batshit crazy on all the non-fiscal issues, their incredible debt hypocrisy combined with truly evil positions on the fiscal issues would remain as a total show stopper.

They really do want to tear this country apart just to have the fat cats squeeze another percentage point or two of the national wealth out of everyone else.

No one is louder.

Allegedly…

The Gordons created good, old-fashioned inner torment that has rarely been communicated so effectively ever since. They were formed in Christchurch back in 1980 and released their first album way back in 1981 on the band’s own label.

“When they played at the same size venue as Motorhead they required four extra PA sound systems. Saying The Gordons were LOUD is like saying the Beatles were a POP GROUP - not so much detonating as devastating!” Everett True, Melody Maker

“The Gordons drop every hint that they know a pop song or two, but refuse to play one…This is a juggernaut of a record. When you put it on not only will your lawn die, your Motorhead albums will shrivel in their sleeves, leaving only a sticky black gel smelling faintly of vodka. (8/10)” David Swift, NME

Nonsense. Everybody knows the loudest band in the galaxy is Disaster Area.

Disaster Area was a plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones and was generally regarded as not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but also as being the loudest noise of any kind at all. Regular concert goers judged that the best sound balance was usually to be heard from within large concrete bunkers some thirty-seven miles away from the stage, whilst the musicians themselves played their instruments by remote control from within a heavily insulated spaceship which stayed in orbit around the planet - or more frequently around a completely different planet.

The article doesn’t actually back up what you said. It says black teenagers who first fought among each other then attacked white fair-goers leaving the fair, and that one teen said he picked white people because they were easy targets. The idea that it was backed by racial hatred is supposition.

There’s a bit of an oddness that it doesn’t appear that anyone gave a shit about the black teens fighting each other.

re: #113 spiderbucket

The black community talks about violence, especially among teens, all the time. That you think they don’t shows that you’re amazingly ignorant about the black community.

What is happening out there is that crime rates have fallen amazingly:

Image: crimerate.gif

And yet people are obsessed with the idea that feral gangs of black teenagers are waiting around the corner to beat them up.

It’s racist because white people should, much more, fear white people than black people in terms of who will attack them. There’s far more white-on-white crime than black-on-white crime.

He’s being racist by pretending there’s some huge surge in black-on-white violence. There isn’t, and crime overall is way, way down, which we should be celebrating.

Does this help?
