Did all the Lizards suddenly leave the nest?…it’s too quiet.

Less disturbing than the previous one.

Except for that one typo.

But I liked the way the lyrics were done. You could see some past ones and some to come.

I found I can make that stop playing (right click for controls). Supposedly I can change the speed on it, but that didn’t work.

Hey now..That is a pretty damn good song..I liked it but I also think it was a very creative way to display the lyrics during the video. Don’t you just hate it when all you get are words scrolling on the screen like movie credits? Nice touch.
( ’ I was a cloud in your mouth ..’ What the hell does that mean? )
I give it 3 out of 4 stars

Russian Neo-Nazi ‘Occupy’ Group Tortures LGBT Youths

“Russian Neo-Nazi” always sounds especially bizarre to me, given Hitler’s stated desire to effective destroy Russia and ultimately ethnicly cleanse all Slavs from areas west of the Volga River.

Perhaps some of those groups are Cossacks, as many Cossacks fought for the Nazis during WWII.

51 Carlos Danger  Sat, Jul 27, 2013 4:59:08pm

Oh my God, these people have a blind spot a mile wide:

I believe in Aslan’s right to hold and propagate any opinion. It’s a right that, ironically, Christians do not have in most Muslim countries.

Evangelical Christians like me will find this book very frustrating. I was disappointed in the book. I don’t recommend it.

Now I get it! If the liberal press is touting a book about Jesus than there must be something wrong with it and there is! It’s written by a Muslim…

What would anyone expect from an Islamic author whose religion is bent on lies, deception and subterfuge. Specious work at best.

Azlan was raised in a fairly relaxed Muslim household, became an evangelical Christian, but converted to a Sufi variant of Islam.

Place bets on how many people reacting to him (1) don’t know that, (2) figure it’s some kind of taqiyya, (3) are going to be all the more harsh because of his departure from Christianity.

re: #51 Carlos Danger

Heh. Yeah.

I’ve read a fair bit of the historical Jesus stuff and it informs my personal faith highly as does my studies of Judaism. The human aspect of the incarnation is quite critical to any real understanding of the religion. That said I have my own issues with the idea of presenting Jesus as a member of the zealots though it’s probably who the Romans associated him with and why he was executed.

But the thing is if you were to hand those same freaking out “evangelical christians” a copy of, say, Marcus Borg’s “Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time” they’d freak just as hard if not more so. If it doesn’t conform to their fantasy of Christ then they don’t want to hear it and they become good little Daleks — “EXTERMINATE!”

As long as we’re dealing with fundamentalists here, and the slippery slope of “biblical sources”, here’s someone who lived whilst the Bible was codified: St. Helena. You know, the one who found the True Cross.

On some date between 15 May and 17 June 326, Constantine had his eldest son Crispus, by Minervina, seized and put to death by “cold poison” at Pola (Pula, Croatia).[229] In July, Constantine had his wife, the Empress Fausta, killed at the behest of his mother, Helena.

Yeah, real strong saintly material there.

Practices like that are probably what led Julian the Apostate to remark:

‘Let every seducer, every murderer, every man guilty of sacrilege, every scoundrel, come unto me without fear. For with this water will I wash him and straightway make him clean. And though he should be guilty of those same sins a second time, let him but smite his breast and beat his head and I will make him clean again.”

Of course Julian was an out and out pagan who was into some pretty wild rituals himself.

She has two sisters named Barbara and Lois and two brothers named Leslie and Kenneth.[1] She won the Miss Minnesota beauty pageant in 1984, and was third runner-up in the Miss America 1985 pageant. (Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson was also a Miss Minnesota winner, and also won the Miss America title in 1989.)

A trained concert pianist (her talent in the Miss America pageant), Green sometimes plays keyboards with Mike Huckabee on his show. […]

He won’t veto anything Art Pope and the ‘baggers propose. Compare to his tenure as mayor of Charlotte:

Although the mayor has limited powers in Charlotte’s council-manager form of government, McCrory made use of the mayoral bully pulpit to push his ideas and used the veto 22 times. McCrory announced in late 2008, shortly after his gubernatorial campaign, that he would not seek an eighth term. McCrory is the city of Charlotte’s longest serving mayor.[12][13] en.wikipedia.org

McCrory has always been nothing more than a salesman and yes man for his bosses.

Shooting sports super-gouger “Cheaper Than Dirt” is pushing booze as an essential part of any survival outfit. No, really.
45 Survival Uses for Alcohol

The best liquor for its many different purposes is Everclear. Everclear, made by Luxco, is pure grain alcohol. You can purchase Everclear in 95 percent alcohol content or 75.5 percent. The higher alcohol content is more popular and more effective for survival use. Everclear is illegal in Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and banned in Chicago (of course.) If you live in a state that restricts the sale of Everclear, you may substitute high-proof vodka. Of course, after SHTF and no laws exist you can start moonshining.

If you choose an alcohol other than vodka or Everclear, such as whiskey or gin, purchase at least 70 proof or higher. This ensures the alcohol will burn.

Among the suggested uses are various forms of sterilization and cleaning, but why not just lay up a supply of specific sterilization chemicals (such as isopropyl alcohol) for this? Other suggested uses include “weed killer,” “Molotov cocktail,” and “starter fluid for IC engines.” First, booze will not kill weeds, and who would worry about weeds after the proverbial stuff hits the fan anyway? It would make a piss poor, not to mention expensive, Molotov cocktail compared to gasoline. Gas might be in short supply, but not as short as your stock of beverage alcohol. This suggestion is like wanting to substitute cake for bread. As for starter fluid, you can get a case of this for the price of a couple of fifths of Everclear, and the specialized product will actually work.
Finally, the author, a mystery woman known only as “Suzanne,” keeps referring to the stuff as “ethanol alcohol,” which is a redundancy. It can be called either “ethanol,” or “ethyl alcohol,” but not both at the same time.
In any case, every little bit of disinformation will help in keeping a lid on these fantasists and thwarting their ambition to take over if civilization ever does start to come unglued.

Cold Lake oil spill leaking for months: Documents

Underground oil spills at an Alberta oilsands operation have been going on much longer than previously thought, according to new documents. Files released to the Toronto Star show the spills were discovered nine weeks ago, but new documents show that bitumen has been leaking since the winter.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. operates the Primrose oilsands facility three hours northeast of Edmonton where four ongoing underground oil blowouts have contaminated forest, muskeg, a lake and have already killed dozens animals including beavers, ducks and birds. According to a government scientist who has been to the site, neither government or industry are able to stop the spills

Speaking of Wisconsin:

Our best bet: coal

[…]

The arrogance of the Obama administration to drastically alter our energy policy without congressional oversight is outrageous on its own, but when that policy change is based on an unproven social crisis it is even more galling. Many of us believe we may be experiencing a trend in climate change, and also believe that energy conservation and efficiency are laudable goals. However, many of us do not believe in man-made global warming or that our insignificant activity is somehow affecting the climate.

I beg our citizens to study both sides of this debate as I have for the last 10 years. America loves nothing more than a good social crisis to fret about. But when the government changes policy on dubious science and a political agenda, ratepayers will suffer.

[…]

The implications of these proposed regulations affect all Americans, not just those who mine or burn coal, and they could prove especially detrimental to our economy and way of life in Wisconsin.

We’ll have to wait to see how the president’s plan materializes in the coming months, but I am fearful about the outcome of any changes that might undermine the role of coal in our energy mix. While the president, pundits and environmental groups have cited environmental concerns and tapped into the uptick in recent extreme weather to justify the newly proposed regulations, they seem to have disregarded many of the “real world” concerns that would accompany coal’s departure from our energy mix, including increased electricity prices and hundreds of thousands of lost jobs.

Wisconsin relies heavily on coal to fuel our electric needs: More than 60% of our electricity comes from coal. That’s true for families, small businesses, and the like — but it’s most important for the manufacturing sector that drives the economy and is heavily dependent on the reliable and inexpensive energy coal affords. States that use coal as a larger share of their electricity generation have cheaper electricity rates, and in Wisconsin, maufacturers and all businesses need unobstructed access to coal-generated electricity to fuel the economy.

[…]

Coal is on the cutting edge of clean energy technology. Its abundance and affordability continues to fuel America, as it has for centuries. […]

Wisconsin for Coal! Maybe that could be a campaign slogan?

My kinda mom. Also, my wife. That’s the way things roll here in Wisconsin, Hoop.

I was present for most of the protests after Act 10 was ‘shoved down our throats.’ My son, 13 at the time joined us. As did my 13 year old & 15 year old nephews. Actually, Hoops.. my 15 year old nephew held up a sign that you’d probably not approve of.. then he went on to start a young Democratic group in a pretty damn right-wing part of the state. Good on him.

On top of that, after marching around the Capitol many, if not most of those there went to local businesses and drank some brew and ate some food. Now, compare and contrast that to the ‘brown bagger’ tea patriots that protested on the same grounds.

In fact, take a trip.. I suggest going to the Great Dane, or one of the many Bar & Grills on and around State Street and asking some of the servers - who, were the better patrons. It aint gonna be the tea patriots.
