Glenn Beck challenges Pat Robertson for 9/11 derp of the day

Beck takes the opportunity to accuse President Obama of treason
Wingnuts • Views: 31,262

My apologies to anyone made dumber by the following.

Just the other day, Glenn Beck was complaining that everyone thinks that he hates President Obama while insisting that he doesn’t, claiming, as proof, that he had never even called for Obama to be impeached.

That was, of course, a lie … and today he took things a step further on his radio program by accusing Obama of treason.

Furious about the speech President Obama delivered on Syria last night, Beck asserted that any military action against the Syrian regime would be for the benefit of al Qaeda, which would make Obama guilty of aiding and abetting the enemies of the United States of America and “that makes him a traitor.”

People whose agitprop could be viewed as treason in a country without the strict treason definition that the US has in its constitution really should not be yapping mindlessly about treason.

Still, Beck is doing better than ever before — because in the annual Celebrity 100 list of the most powerful celebrities that Forbes released a couple weeks back, Beck ranked No. 23 with an estimated annual income of $80 million. By way of comparison, last year Beck ranked No. 30 with an income of $40 million, while in 2010 he was No. 43 on the list with estimated earnings of $35 million.

Ron Paul is a lousy messenger for anything. Even a statement as simple as 2+2 = 4 needs special scrutiny coming from Ron Paul.

However, the 9/12/01 party line that the terrorists attacked us “because they hate our freedoms” is BS.

Of course 9/11 was blowback. Our international actions have consequences, and one of these consequences is that lots of extremists have beefs with the US that they will act on, given the opportunity. This simple observation is in no way an assertion that these beefs the terrorists have with the US are in any way justified.

Goldfinger, he’s the man
The man with the midas touch
A spider’s touch
Such a cold finger
Beckons you to enter his web of sin
But don’t go in

Golden words he will pour in your ear
But his lies can’t disguise what you fear
For a golden girl knows when he’s kissed her
It’s the kiss of death from Mister Goldfinger
Pretty girl, beware of his heart of gold
[. From: elyrics.net .]
This heart is cold

Golden words he will pour in your ear
But his lies can’t disguise what you fear
For a golden girl knows when he’s kissed her
It’s the kiss of death from Mister Goldfinger

This heart is cold

He loves only gold
Only gold
He loves gold
He loves only gold
Only gold
He loves gold

Anniversary of 9/11 attacks.

Anniversary of attacks on US consulate in Benghazi. GOP pushing the crazy to 11 thinking that the Administration didn’t do something or is covering things up.

CBS News reports that the Administration’s efforts to improve security is lagging.

But… and you knew there was a but, the reason they’re lagging is because the State Department’s $2.2 billion request for funding those security improvements hasn’t been acted upon in Congress.

CBS News asked the State Department about the delays, and it said it has requested $2.2 billion to to fully fund the reforms.

A bill in Congress to authorize that money has yet to come up for a vote.

“I would have liked to have seen the Congress move more expeditiously on this,” said Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “But at a time of fiscal cliffs, at a time of fiscal challenges, I have to continue to convince members that this is the right thing to do, it’s right by our diplomats, it’s right by our security interests.”

The State Department has made improvements, including training for diplomats headed to dangerous posts, but a common way to respond these days is simply to evacuate — like the department did last week in Beirut when there are concerns about our embassy there.

That’s on the GOP. Thank the sequester too. The same GOP that is kvetching like a banshee has sat on the aid request to make sure that security improvements to reduce the chances of another attack like that in Benghazi happens again.

Only a fraction of the forces are in place.

I think if people knew and understood that a lot of Obama’s problems have been caused by a Republican House that controls the purse strings and also has many members who literally see their agenda to oppose him at all costs and means, they’d make John Boehner minority leader again quicker than you could say Glenn Beck is a whiny bag of dicks.

This week Apple launched the new iPhone 5 which will hit stores on September 18. However, the debut was overshadowed by the news that Koch Industries are to buy the electronics company Molex for $7.2 billion - a company that is one of Apple’s component suppliers.

Such a move is a slap in the face for liberal Apple fans who will now be faced with the dilemma of filling the pockets of “left-wing hate objects” if they choose to buy their favorite Apple product, The Daily Beast reported.

This actually bothers me.

The planned series, which does not yet have a date to go on the air, will be a prequel rather than a sequel — which, for rabid “Bad” fans, who continue to obsess over every possible outcome of the series, means the Saul character does not necessarily survive. The new show will cover the evolution of Saul into the colorful character “Bad” fans have come to love.

Well conservatives got their victory against public workers today and the right wing groups are out with their ads about how great Scott Walker is. But everything isn’t perfect here for him in Wisconsin.

Sportsmen’s grant adopted despite warnings over loss of federal funding

GOP lawmakers plunged ahead with a controversial $500,000 grant to a politically connected sportsmen’s group even though U.S. officials had warned Gov. Scott Walker’s administration that the move endangered $28 million a year in federal money, records show.

Thedecision by the Walker administration and top Republican lawmakers to quietly handle the problems with the now-canceled grant left the public, Democrats and even some Republicans in the dark. It also ended up putting state taxpayers entirely on the hook for the grant.

Also Wednesday, the United Sportsmen of Wisconsin Inc. reacted to a Tuesday report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel by apologizing for making yet another misrepresentation of its tax status. The conservative group said it had hired a new attorney in an attempt to sort out its botched accounting and apparent failures to comply with state and federal law.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service sent two sharply worded letters to the state Department of Natural Resources after lawmakers on the budget committee hastily slipped the grant into the state budget. The letters said the proposal would cost the state $28 million in annual federal money because the DNR would not have adequate control of how the grant funds were used.

Man I need a drink.

Our first computer when I was a kid was a Mac actually. But we got a PC because my brother and I wanted to do gaming. It’s all kind of funny in that way since we got a Playstation instead of a N64 because I was given the wrong impression that the N64 would not have sports games and the rest is history. While you’re at it tell him I got annual ethics training from Army lawyers.

Wingnuts having mass orgasms, want VLAD FOR PRESIDENT!!!

After decades of preaching “American exceptionalism,” look for them to fall over themselves applauding Putin for advising against teaching people that they’re exceptional and to instead push equality.

Al Qaida is probably next. They also don’t like the US government very much, which seems to be Greenwald’s only criterion these days.

The Putin op-ed is interesting. IMO, it means that Russia sees US public opinion as an important factor in the Syria situation.

One hopes that if Russia/Syria start playing games about the CW removal, that will end up being reflected in US public opinion.

Assuming the US is not stupid enough to agree to a toothless UN resolution, the games I care about would relate to Syria not complying with the UN resolution.

Just wait until public opinion changes against him. It won’t be important then, and we should really not think of it as important now. Not needing to attack is a win. For everybody. Syria is not going to run away. The UN cleaned up Saddams house pretty damn well and he stayed in power. As we later found out, he did not have anything left. The UN can do it again. Will? Dunno.

GOP Bill Aims To Ban Junk In Food Stamp Program

A Tennessee Republican introduced a bill on Tuesday that would limit the kinds of food that food stamp recipients can buy, according to The Hill.

Rep. Phil Roe said he wants the national food stamp program to have same standards as state-level programs started in Wisconsin and South Carolina that aims to stop an estimated $2 billion of unhealthy food purchases made with funds provided by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

“By giving SNAP recipients more nutritious choices, we can take a meaningful step towards ending hunger in America,” he told The Hill.

re: #103 Vicious Babushka

Found on the net, a troll hammer for wing nuts that want to minimize the bin Laden operation.

For your amusement and future reference, here’s what Bush has said about bin Laden at various points in time, depending on how he was trying to spin things:

“The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him.”
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

“I want justice…There’s an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, ‘Wanted: Dead or Alive,’”
- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI

“…Secondly, he is not escaping us. This is a guy, who, three months ago, was in control of a county [sic]. Now he’s maybe in control of a cave. He’s on the run. Listen, a while ago I said to the American people, our objective is more than bin Laden. But one of the things for certain is we’re going to get him running and keep him running, and bring him to justice. And that’s what’s happening. He’s on the run, if he’s running at all. So we don’t know whether he’s in cave with the door shut, or a cave with the door open — we just don’t know….”
- Bush, in remarks in a Press Availablity with the Press Travel Pool,
The Prairie Chapel Ranch, Crawford TX, 12/28/01, as reported on
official White House site

“I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.”
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

“I am truly not that concerned about him.”
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden’s whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

The thing I keep noticing is that chocolate is on the list they want to ban. Now, I’m married, and for a few days each month the main thing that keeps me in one piece is that I purchase chocolate for her.

I think of women told they cannot have chocolate, and think that these idiots will be putting their names on the forms that say this, and wonder if we’re ready for that much carnage.

Before world war 2, our enemy was the Russians. Then along came the Nazis, and the Russians were our friends in world war 2. So if Al Qaeda was the enemy, and Syria is the enemy now, I don’t see the problem with working with Al Qaeda against Syria. They wouldn’t really be our enemy anyway, if we stopped killing Muslims and talking trash about Islam.
