Let’s Call Ted Cruz’s Fake Filibuster What It Was: Theater for Morons

Sheer idiocy
Politics • Views: 14,015

Texas loon Ted Cruz has ended his absurdly stupid fake “filibuster” today, just in time for his appearance on the Rush Limbaugh show.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) ended his 21-hour-plus marathon protest against ObamaCare with a plea to his Senate GOP colleagues to “unite” in a bid to prevent Democrats in the upper chamber from funding the healthcare law in a bill to keep the federal government running.

“I would call on all 46 Republicans to unite, to stand together and vote against cloture on the bill,” Cruz said, spurring applause.

UPDATE at 9/25/13 10:29:50 am

And it gets even stupider and more offensive, because before ending his monumental yak-a-thon, Cruz compared his speech to the Bataan Death March. Good grief. What the hell is wrong with these people?

So Cruz did all this crazy shit so he could make a case to people who do not understand how the Senate works that he opposed ACA?

Says the guy who just voted FOR cloture.

OK, different cloture vote. In any case. This is all political theater. A joke really.

Does Cruz really have no historical perspective? I get that this guy is a right wing hack. But really, first he likens his Republicans who oppose defunding ACA to the people who appeased the Nazis. As a Slovak-American, a hearty fuck you to you on that Teddy. And then he compares his 21 hour bullshit to the Bataan Death March which you know, operative phrase being “death march.” So fuck you Ted Cruz.

From someone who knows more people than he should have to who have had to deal with cancer, Mark Levin can go fuck himself sideways with a pitchfork for the cancer analogy.

People with cancer (or other similar types of pre-existing conditions/ailments) but denied health insurance because it is a preexisting condition would now be able to get health insurance as a result of Obamacare eliminating the pre-existing conditions exclusion.

Levin is simply put a right wing asshole. As I said, this guy and his fellow right wing nutjobs would embrace real Soviet style policies as an alternative to Obama. They have no real ideology. Their ideology is they hate the left and anything Obama proposes. I mean look at how many of them have responded to the first lady simply saying that drinking more water is a good idea or eating more fruits and vegetables. Their hate is their ideology.

Oh, I’ll curse. Usually with frak, but Levin’s nonsensical ravings of a lunatic mind hit home when I’ve seen several people close to me stricken with cancer and know that their health is so fragile and that if an insurer were able to deny them reupping health insurance, that they’d be in real trouble. Now, under the law they cannot be denied health insurance.

I’ve never had cancer but I do have a heart condition so you’re preaching to the choir. The ban on denying pre-existing conditions to me was one of the best things of the reforms. It sickens me to see the Republicans and right act like they want to defund ACA because they have the best interests of the lpeople at heart. Bullshit, this is all about opposing Obama’s policies simply because Obama proposed it. This legislation was more closer to what the Heritage Foundation proposed in the mid 90’s but oh no a black centrist Democrat proposed it in 2009, now we’re going to act like it’s the most radical reform ever.

Other countries have got to be watching this shit and uttering WTF IS WRONG WITH THEM? Fighting over making sure as many people as possible have healthcare? Seriously? It’s bad how? It’s like Hitler? FFS.

I remember time after time when my son was little we were denied coverage for various types of therapies because autism is a pre-existing condition. I didn’t mind doing so, and don’t regret it now, but I had to give up a shot at a career to learn more about brain development and pediatric neurology and brain function than I ever wanted to learn ever, so I could stay home and be the therapist(s). I’d have a degree (mostly paid for by my employer at the time) and be managing a large retail store right now, maybe even had my own business or something like that, if insurance had covered one damned dime of the things my kid needed when he was little.
Ted Cruz and the rest of these maniacs fuck right the hell off.

It’s insane but even more insane are the people who accept the status quo because they believe the propaganda about health care systems like the one your nation and many other first world nations have. The U.S could be a much more healthy nation if we weren’t so paranoid about government and health care.

We know people who are moving out of OK because there is some crazy provision here that even regular medical stuff isn’t covered for their son because he has autism. Like he got strep throat—no coverage for doctor visit or antibiotics. And the other therapy is all out of pocket as well. They are going back to … TX. Apparently Perry and company haven’t managed to damage the schools enough to make them as bad as the ones here in OK.

The ‘pre-existing’ thing was definitely the case here in Alabama—autisitic Gdaughter couldn’t be insured for a fall or a rash. HOWEVER, that stopped here under the devilish commie provisions of Obamacare. Your state might vary.

60 ContraryLemming  Wed, Sep 25, 2013 3:04:41pm

My guess? He’s angling for the vice-presidency slot in the next election. He knows that by doing this, he sews up the GOP’s dingbat base. The nomination goes to a centrist (?) like Christie, and Cruz slips in to make sure that the hoopleheads in the plains states & Deep South turn out in sufficient numbers.

Or, he’s just another incarnation of The Smiler.
