Confederate Flag Guy Identified

Oddly enough, he seems to be a right winger
Wingnuts • Views: 49,788

Here’s the guy who brought the Confederate flag to the White House yesterday: Michael Ashmore.

Since he links to “Conservative Preppers” (survivalists) and a group called “Redneckers,” I’m guessing he probably isn’t a liberal, planted to make conservatives look bad.

(And yes, a lot of right wing blogs are trying to use that hoary old excuse.)

Way to associate the Corps, “always faithful”, with the flag of a rebellious splinter would-be nation that was unwilling to stay faithful to the bonds of the nationality that you yourself claim to love.

Dunderfuck.

Not that I disagree with the services available to veterans, but the cognitive break there is…typical, I guess.

re: #32 Vicious Babushka

This has already been totally debunked, but even if it was true—the solution is to RAISE THE MINIMUM WAGE not LOWER BENEFITS.

[Embedded content]

Speaking of.

Let’s assume a person has a full-time minimum wage job, somehow. At $7.25 an hour times 40 hours a week times 52 weeks a year, that comes to $15,080. Now let’s budget this.

Say rent/mortgage whatever is $500 a month. Pretty damn low, but we’ll roll with it. That’s $6K a year. Now you’ve got to feed yourself. I feed myself on about $75 a week, but I’m one of those yuppies that only eats fresh or fresh-frozen, so let’s take that down to, say, $40 a week or so to feed a single person. That’s another $2080 a year, we’re up to $8,080. Gotta have utilities, keep the lights on and be able to call people or emergency services; now this can vary a whole hell of a lot, but my personal utility bill for spartan gas/water usage (I use less than one billing unit of water/gas per month) and keeping a ‘75 house temperature-controlled in Georgia runs about $180 a month in the summer. Throw in $20 for a cheap landline, no TV or internet at all, and you’ve got $200 a month, or $1400 a year — we’re up to $9480.

Gas is currently $3.34 a gallon national average, according to AAA. Let’s assume a 12-gallon tank (most consumer vehicles seem to hover between 10 and 15 gallons), and a fillup a week to get to work and back. That’s $2,084 and some change per year for gas. So now we’re up to $11,564.

We’ve got $3,516 left over for the year from our full-time job, which is $293 a month after bare essentials. I haven’t counted clothing one’s self, I haven’t counted the cost of things like soap and toothpaste, vehicle maintenance, home maintenance, medical care… you know, minor and unimportant shit like that. There damn sure isn’t any entertainment factored into that budget. And none of this takes any dependent family into account — this is a single person living solo and taking care only of themselves. No mouths to feed except their own.

Yeah, clearly the proper solution is to eliminate the minimum wage and let it go down. That’ll get our economy jump-started alright.

Dislikes: Libtards, jews, negroes, MSN, fluoridation, fags, evolution.

ETA: I wrote this before looking at his profile, damn…I was right on…
