Daily Caller commenters spew misogyny and racism in response to story about Michelle Obama

Wingnuts • Views: 35,080

The story, by Caroline May, is about a Gallup survey which revealed that Americans ate less healthy this year than they did last year:

Despite first lady Michelle Obama’s healthy living push, American eating habits deteriorated in the first 10 months of 2013, compared with 2012, according to a recent survey.

According to a Gallup survey released over the Thanksgiving holiday, the percentage of adults reporting that they ate healthy all day “yesterday” has been consistently lower all 2013 compared to 2012.

Gallup reports that in most months during 2013, “healthy eating has been at its lowest in Gallup trends since 2008.”

All Ms. May needed to do was include the “Michelle Obama” and “healthy living” dog whistle, as well as this photo:

for the commenters to start barking at the moon:

Does this cow believe anyone will follow her requests to eat healthy when she has 9 frickin’ pies for Thanksgiving? Where was her gluten free, low calorie, low carb menu?

=====

Agreed—she needs to shut her “pie” hole! Not to mention, in addition to the 9 pies, they had “sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing, oyster stuffing”…

=====

Does anyone believe that the potatoes were mashed with 1% milk instead of cream or “I can’t believe it’s not Butter” instead of actual real butter—did they use low-fat cheese for that mac and cheese; maybe tofu instead of bread cubes for the stuffing—doubt it!

To everyone in the Federal Govt—especially the Obama’s—STOP TELLING US HOW TO LIVE OUR LIVES! GET YOUR BIG NOSES AND BIG BUTTS OUT OF OUR BUSINESS!

=====

Nobody cares what racist-lady thinks.

=====

When you’re stoned her fanny doesn’t look so big

=====

Hey, Moochie: What does a woman do about a big, wide behind?

=====

Who are your daughters real sperm donors?

=====

Mammalian ova have been cloned, producing female offspring, at least in farm animals, but I repeat myself.

=====

The Queen sits on her throne munching on Kobe Beef and lecturing the proletariat on what THEY should do. Reminiscent of Al Gore chastising us little people for our existence while burning fossil fuel like there is no tomorrow.

=====

The irony is that her hip measurements and the IQ of people who listen to her are IDENTICAL!

=====

de frst ug ga ly ben carryin roun 2 big ole watermelons ta set oon afer she don waddles to an fro de hous.

=====

Has she looked at her own backside lately ? Heck she don’t even need a mirror OR to turn around to see it !!

=====

Well you know, she doesn’t set a very good example, with that huge backside and all….

=====

Michelle is so fat, she fell in the Grand Canyon and got stuck. Credit to Dave Chappelle for that gem.

=====

Look how truly ugly she is, and ask yourself, “Would I take any kind of advice from her?”

=====

A picture of “Mooshelle Odumber” is the wrong poster “Boy” to emulate, she looks like an advertisement for a banana farmer.

=====

Looks like she has a linebackers mouth piece in her mouth.

=====

We ain’t afraid to call a spade a spade. The People who work for a living are fed up with this preposterous fake posing as a do-gooder.

This pure hatred. These folks don’t think First Lady, Michelle Obama has any business expressing any opinion. The strange thing is that after the FL established her “Let’s Move” program, the results of a study were revealed here in GA that showed that a significant majority of students between the ages of 5-18 couldn’t pass a physical fitness test. Also, the level of childhood obesity here is one of the highest in the nation. Our GOPTP governor, Nathan Deal, was suddenly interested in obesity and physical fitness and announced a plan to address these issues. When the FL announced her program, the GOPTPers here went crazy, but when Deal said the same thing she did, not one of them challenged him. Such is the hypocrisy of the GOPTPers.

Which drives home that the issue with them is the messenger and not the message itself.

On the plus side, Michelle’s push for healthier eathing may cause more of them to eat as unhealthily as possible. On the minus side, it will take years for it to kill them.

Because really, who cares about that when there’s a colored lady to mock?

I remember reading comments about Michelle on the bowhunting forum, about her being fat, or being a cow, and since I’d seen a number of these guys, in person and in pictures, I wondered who they were to call anyone else fat.

But hey, they managed to combine racism and misogyny in one tidy package.

I’ll never get why “eating unhealthy food” became a point of rightist pride.

I mean, I suppose it’s bound up in the masculinity/macho/”daddy party” thing but it seems so obviously, transparently self-destructive.

Like a lot of problems, the increasingly unhealthy eating habits of Americans is complex and has no simple solution, so actually addressing it would require them to have above room temp IQs.

Three black students arrested, waiting for a bus while black

Three African-American students were busted for waiting on a bus while black in Rochester, New York. The three were arrested Wednesday morning when a police officer told them to “disperse,” and they refused, and even witnesses said they did nothing wrong. When the young men tried to explain to the officer that they were waiting for a school bus, he arrested three of the players who were 16, 16 and 17 years-old.

Same reason why driving a big, gas guzzling pickup or SUV is a point of pride, or why stories of electric cars failing or windmills being birdslayers are so popular: Conservatism has become simply the opposite of what Conservatives think Liberals believe. Pretty much.

These days, there are conservatives who think that “Poor people can buy flat screen TV’s in America while rich people can’t buy toilet paper in a socialist country” is a rational argument. Right wing thought has descended into nothing but talking points and bumper sticker slogans.

You know, a lot of folks on the left HATED Bush. Some took it over the top with ‘BusHitler’ etc. But I don’t remember anyone hating Laura Bush AT ALL, let alone with the venom that one sees on the Right aimed at Michele Obama.

And it’s self-feeding. It used to be that nasty shit like that had kind of a built-in feedback inhibition, so that when it went beyond a certain point when it went too far, they’d tell the offenders they’d gone too far. Now it seems like there’s feedback activation, so that extreme and offensive the comments drive others to be EVEN MORE extreme and offensive.

Posted about this in the morning dead thread.

834 is a transmission report that the insurers need to get enrollments processed.

The 834 Transaction is the HIPAA-compliant Benefit Enrollment and Maintenance Transaction. Its purpose is to electronically transmit enrollment and dis-enrollment information.

In 2004, DHCS implemented a 4010 834 solution, however, this was implemented along with a supplemental transaction that held eligibility history.

The HIPAA 5010 version of all transactions is scheduled to be implemented on January 1st, 2012. DHCS will implement a compliant 5010 834 on this date. The current FAME file will continue to be made available for a short period of time after this date to allow plans time to transition. Once this transition period has been completed the FAME file will no longer be made available to managed care plans.

The ideas that maybe people would benefit from a promotion of healthy eating, that kids would benefit from more activity is met by screams of “NANNY STATE” and “SOCIALISM”. (of course, WADR, they cry socialism on any proposal that doesn’t involve selling small children into forced servitude in the zinc mines).

The far right wing has no cohesive plan or proposals. They have only the goal of negating anything presented that doesn’t rely on the survival of the fittest and wealthiest.

In short, they’re trying to keep this turd of a story going by saying “Well yeah, okay, the administration met the deadline it set with the results it set, BUT it still has problems!”

When you’re reduced to asking about 834 errors, you’ve run out of story. Kinda like how when you’re reduced to complaining that it takes too long to sign up for cheaper healthcare, you’ve run out of steam in demanding repeal.

It’s the usual problem with the media, they hype things into the fucking ground, then when their predictions of doom don’t come to pass, the smart ones quickly disassociate themselves from the smoking crater by changing the subject, while the dumb ones camp out next to the crater in hopes that they can make a story out of the rising puff of smoke.

re: #116 Kragar

The max speed in the section adjacent to that curve is supposed to be 70 mph, before slowing to 30 mph in the curve (slower if the train is stopping at the station just beyond the derailment location).

Speed was definitely a factor, but the question turns to whether there was a mechanical failure of some kind - that either resulted in brakes failing or the locomotive continuing to provide power or both, or whether the engineer failed to heed speed limits in this section.

The engineer is talking with investigators, but initial reports had claimed that the engineer had tried applying the brakes with no effect.

Now to discuss this post. I beleive Mrs. Obama was targeting School kids eating habits. Maybe the GOP mocks this but they probably don’t care if kids grow up looking like a bowling ball. This is something all Americans should support. I really don’t give a fuck how much food, Cigs and Booze the rest of adults consume. They are adults afterall. We protect our children thus we make sure they are adults before smoking and drinking. Kids don’t know better..So the first lady is raising awareness of over eating.

I still do it to kill boredom.

Eventually it got to be boring in and of itself. You can only hear “The Second Law of Thermodynamics says it’s impossible!” or “How come there are still monkeys?”, or my personal favorite, “All Mutations Are Deleterious!” before it just gets old.

It got so it reminded me of the joke about the prison, where everyone’s heard the same jokes so many times they just assign them numbers and instead of telling the joke, you say the number (“It’s a good joke, son. It’s your delivery that’s the problem.”)

After years of being programmed to think the word “drone” connotes EVIL OF THE MOST HEINOUS KIND, it’s sort of amusing to see lots of libertarian techies on Twitter trying to figure out if it’s OK to think Amazon’s drone delivery system is a cool idea (it is), or if it means they should get even MOAR paranoid.

That’s what I don’t understand - why people who believe that God allows people to sin or not, and suffer the consequences while still living, do not believe that God would let us fuck up the atmosphere. I conclude that it has nothing to do with their notion of God, and everything to do with hating Liberals.

So the deranged wingnut who was my friend in high school (and excellent bass player in my band) had a pair of Facebook posts that made me chuckle. One, apparently (via Breitbart) the “last lead smelter” in the US is being shut down by the EPA as a sneak attack on the 2nd amendment (never mind the health effects of lead)….and then in the very next post (they seem to come in rapid fire 3s and 4s) points out how crime has dropped dramatically…..which those of you based on planet earth will know could be (I would argue is) attributed to the decline of lead in the atmosphere (in wingnut land, it’s because of white people armed to the teeth).

I would de-friend him, but I actually was close to the guy in high school. That dude seems gone now, unfortunately. I never see him post anything about music (which is where we became friends).

I wished him a happy birthday (and he thanked me for it). We also had a conversation about the evolution of recording devices from the mid-90s until now that involved one of the other guys in the band (who is now a Portland techie and more liberal than I am), so I suspect the good guy is still there. He’s just using Facebook to rant and rave and nothing else. ‘Tis a shame.

re: #230 Schadenboner

I was raised by right wing evangelicals (one of whom was Catholic previously). And still there was no conflict with science. I was taught that science was our human way of explaining God’s creation. I was never discouraged from learning, I never asked for a book I didn’t get. I had little boxes with little drawers (used for screws and little pieces parts in my dad’s garage)that were full of rocks and shells and fossils and leaves, all labeled with both common and latin names. I had a microscope, a telescope and was told I was smart and could be a scientist in a time when girls were not encouraged to do so. It’s only in the last 20 yrs or so this ignorance has been attached to politics to make science the bad guy and somehow Anti-God. It’s insane and it’s dumbing down the whole country. It’s dangerous too. My parents messed up A LOT with raising me, but the one thing they did right was encourage my intellectual curiosity. It didn’t rub off on my siblings, who are now farther right than my parents. It’s sad and maddening.
