The Sad Strange Story of Tila Tequila

Wingnuts • Views: 31,749

For those of you who’ve never heard of her, Tila Tequila (originally Nguyen) is a “reality show” star who thinks she is a rapper. Originally a nude model, she parlayed her career into being a “professional” celebrity, like a third rate Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton.

Well, in the middle of last year she suffered a brain aneurysm due to a drug over dose and went into rehab to recover. How is that recovery going? Not well, apparently.

Since that time, Ms. Nguyen has decided to abandon her attempt to convert to Judaism and embrace Nazism, and is now on a mission to spread the truth about one of history’s great misunderstood leaders, Adolf Hitler.

Yes, Hitler.

Tablet magazine reported on Monday that Tequila, who came into national prominence through the dating show A Shot At Love in 2007 and 2008, posted a photo illustration of herself on Facebook bearing an armband adorned with a swastika and an SS hat while standing in front of the entrance to the Auschwitz prison camp.

The caption for the picture states, “Tilisis is the GODDESS of LOVE & WAR! [sic] Learn your facts!” In another post Monday evening, Tequila — born Tila Nguyen in Singapore in 1981 — wrote, “I am She, the Queen who hath come to save you from this dark world filled with NWO parasite invaders,” an apparent reference to the “New World Order,” a popular boogeyman figure among conspiracy theorists.

She also responded to criticism of the image by linking to a Dec. 7 blog post in which she defends Hitler, saying his history was rewritten after the defeat of the Axis in World War II.

“I am not going to sit here and say that I hate Jewish people because that is not the case nor is this about Jews,” Tequila wrote. “It is about Hitler and his side of the story that was never told since he was not the victor. However, those of you with a closed mind can think I am being anti-semite all you want because I already told you that I am not, nor will I repeat myself again.”

To show how she’s embraced her new beliefs, she recorded a new song “It’s Going Down!” to explain them, bending all her marginal music talents to come up with the lyrics.

Every time you hear my name it’s going down, goin down X 4
Feeding yo mind with GMOs
while givin yo babies flo flo
not flo rida but flo ride
that shit that burns yo third eye

Jewluminati motherfuckers hate me
Oh no they don’t wanna date me
Nor you nor you nor you too
Worldwide Genocide blame it on the jews

So now they call me a nazi
no bitch I’m just good at yhatzee
Espionage is my middle name HA!
I got you good while rolling through yo hood

Hitler no Hi Tila
Hitler no Hit Tila
Hitler No Hi Tila

Her fellow travelers at Stormfront don’t know what to think:

“It’s insulting to Adolf Hitler to have that promiscuous, degenerate, mongrel defending him. She makes me want to vomit.”

“The sad part is this no one will listen to her.”

“I congratulate her for finding the truth.”

“Brave woman to throw her career away for truth. Jew Hollywood and media will never hire her again.”

“Very, very strange. Her entry almost seems copied and pasted from this website. I wonder if she wasn’t somehow ‘encouraged’ — either overtly or covertly — to promulgate this information in an attempt to discredit it. I, for one, am quite skeptical.”

“She sounds perfectly lucid to me.”

“She’s not a truther, she’s a plant.”

“We need more people like her spreading this type of message. As long she does not preach racial mixing, has no kids, and eventually commits suicide, it is all good.”

“She’s got 2 million followers. People will listen to her. The Zionist veneer is finally crumbling.”

“I posted a supportive comment on the page. I think we all should to show her that she is not alone in her beliefs.”

And perhaps inevitably…

“Is she of Jewish racial ancestry?”

Unfortunately, I doubt we’ve heard the last of Tila Tequila.

Hell, these days, a media darling crashing and burning seems to bring in more viewers than when they’re riding high. We seem to get almost a perverse pleasure as a culture in watching the rich and famous reduced to drug addicts, invalids, or prisoners.

This is a video which is making the rounds on the internet. It’s a clip of four different Christmas songs sung by children with deaf parents. In the center there’s a blond girl with the name of Claire Koch. Both her parents are deaf but she’s hearing fine. The first language she learn however was sign language. And here she’s “singing” the songs with her hands and face. Quite lovely actually to see and I’m sure this will make your day.

The course of this lawsuit is going to be very, very interesting. I’ve always maintained that charter schools are not “public” schools in the legal meaning of the word since they are run independently of a public school district, and should not receive public funding. They do their own hiring and are not considered public employees. I don’t think the State has the legal grounds to use tax dollars to fund these schools, either, nor do I think the Federal govt should use tax dollars to issue “vouchers” or tax credits for these private schools.

Superior Court judge says charter schools unconstitutional

Maybe the psychedelic mushroom theory explains it.//

According to the theory, the legend of Santa derives from shamans in the Siberian and Arctic regions who dropped into locals’ teepeelike homes with a bag full of hallucinatory mushrooms as presents in late December, Rush said.

“As the story goes, up until a few hundred years ago these practicing shamans or priests connected to the older traditions would collect Amanita muscaria (the Holy Mushroom), dry them, and then give them as gifts on the winter solstice,” Rush told LiveScience. “Because snow is usually blocking doors, there was an opening in the roof through which people entered and exited, thus the chimney story.

Which not only shows that Caribou Barbie has no understanding of how to run an economy, it also shows she has no grasp of history whatsoever. Bush Sr. raised taxes to address the deficit and debt in the wake of his boss’ runaway spending that had precipitated the downfall of the USSR. Yes folks, it was a Republican addressing the deficit in a manner that the public agrees today is the right way forward, rather than hacking away at the budget with an axe and hoping the things killed are ones you oppose.

Yeah, I think we might be seeing a young woman with mental illness here. I don’t think this has as much to do with her aneurysm as it does with having some form of mental illness, most likely long before any other medical issue came into play. I remember her vaguely from maybe MTV or VH1 or something like that, she reminded me of Paris Hilton, not interesting and only on TV for some notorious reason. I’m sure some asshole is behind the scenes looking for a way to exploit this for money.

Which says a lot more about our culture than it does about Ms. Nyguen. It’s sad that no one loves her enough to take her aside and try to help her sort out her life.

I’m sick of some jobs having qualifications lists that read like a single internal candidate’s resume, and which would require me going back and getting another degree or two. Others have qualifications that are vague enough that I can easily argue for my transferable skills to give me the right experience, only to end up on the short list and getting the “we’re going with someone else” email. Those laundry lists can be pretty amazing at times. It’s like the HR person who places the advert just went through all the acronyms used in the company’s internal documents or something.

A great deal of job advertisements have always been about formalities anyway. Many jobs are pre-wired for particular individuals and only the laws of the land get the companies to run job adverts for various reasons.

It’s Blueberry Pie this week!

We’ve had Blueberry Pie before, but it’s the favorite.

Blueberry is probably the very best pie in the entire known universe since forever. Not that I’m biased.

I’m a good cook, but I don’t bake, not in any meaningful sense of the word.

I do the “Artisan Bread in 5 minutes a day” thing, but that’s just making a stiff batter, letting it sit in the fridge, and then grabbing a chunk and letting it rest and bake. Not really “Baking - Baking”. I think the part about baking that scares me is that it’s Chemistry. Things have to be in right ratios, different shortenings / sugars behave differently. I’d rather cook than bake. I admire those who bake, and will eat all their stuff.

Reality - which BadHair and his ilk of “developers” will always deny:

Communities of Southern Chesapeake Bay Find Sea Level Rise Heightened by Sinking Land

Communities and coastal habitats in the southern Chesapeake Bay region face increased flooding because, as seawater levels are rising in the bay, the land surface is also sinking._ A new USGS report released today concludes that intensive groundwater withdrawals are a major cause of the sinking land, or ‘land subsidence’, that contributes to flooding risks in the region.

“From a practical viewpoint, sea level is relative to the land surface,” said Jerad Bales, Acting Associate Director for Water at USGS. “Whether the water is rising or the land is sinking, or both, the effect is the same: greater vulnerability to coastal storms and loss of important coastal habitat, both of which result in economic losses.”

The new study presents a variety of data and findings from previous studies to examine land subsidence in the southern Chesapeake Bay region.

Previous USGS studies have established that the Chesapeake Bay region has the highest rates of relative sea-level rise on the East Coast. The sea-level rise rates around the Chesapeake Bay range from 3.2 to 4.7mm/per year with 4.4 mm/yr in Norfolk. (A penny is about 1 mm thick.) Land subsidence alone causes more than half of the observed relative sea-level rise in the southern Chesapeake Bay.

While there are several factors influencing land subsidence, aquifer system compaction, caused by extensive groundwater pumping in the Virginia Coastal Plain, is a major cause in the Norfolk area. Land subsidence has occurred around Norfolk at an average rate of 3 mm/year since 1940.

I’m sick of networking and gladhanding and trying to talk my way into a job. I’m tired of drawing unemployment. At this point, I’m just done. I think I’m going to go to the unemployment people tomorrow and have them rip my resume to shreds and have them help me find something. Or my university’s career center. Or both. I just know that I’m past the point of being patient in my job hunt.

What type of job are you looking for?

Any random GOP statement on science more richly deserves lie of the year, but Politico isn’t actually trying to evaluate what the real ‘lie of the year’ is.

I’m continually amazed by the simplicity of the ‘factchecking’ branding: just by calling themselves ‘factcheckers’, they crown themselves with objectivity despite having no real method, no actual standards, nothing but ad-hoc, contingent reasoning every time, both to how they judge things as false and true and how they evaluate the magnitude of something.

They also provide great ammunition for people who want to cite stuff on messageboards, which unfortunately is a pretty fantastic model.

It’s ironic that ‘factcheckers’ are leading the charge in further devaluing the already-almost-useless US media.

Yet “Abstinence-only education works” doesn’t even have a prayer to win as ‘lie of the year’. Nor does ‘climate change isn’t happening.’ That they pointed out that Romney was lying when he said that Jeep was moving production to China was accurate, but that also wasn’t in any way the biggest or most important lie told, even by Romney, probably even by Romney in that week.

The GOP platform is composed largely of lies, lies about economics, science, and culture. Not just equivocations or political-reality-means-we’ve-got-to-phrase-this-this-way, but just outright, top-top-bottom, actually-its-the-opposite lies.

This touches on a particularly relevant terror of mine. I am in fear of imminently being laid off, and being unable to find similar work any time soon thereafter.

I am a reasonably competent Linux admin. Sadly, my main weakness seems to be that I know enough to know that I don’t know every fucking thing off the top of my head, which isn’t true for 99% of my much younger Dunning-Kruger competitors who proffer themselves as Linux “experts”. They’ve successfully installed Ubuntu on three(!) different machines and set up open CIFS shares, and they’ve sort of heard of Kerberos, they think. But they’re Real Go-Getters With ‘Upper Management’ Written All Over Them.

I live in such fear of being called on my bullshit — actually expected to deliver — that I don’t lie on my resume, and I don’t lie in job interviews. This is seen by everyone I know as a terrible idea. Apparently, employers assume everyone exaggerates their abilities in interviews and on resumes, so someone who is completely honest will be judged as having much less ability than they truthfully claimed to have. People want to hear you say that you’re a magician who can do everything immediately. They don’t want to hear you say that you could do x immediately, y after referring to your notes, and z after a few hours of reading documentation.

On top of that is a common attitude that if you’re 40+ and not either in or pursuing some kind of managerial or executive position, there’s something wrong with you.

blah, never mind. Shutting up now.

First it was “John Doe” for Walker, now it’s Christie looking like a crooked SOB.

NYT: Chris Christie ‘Suspiciously Connected’ To Revenge Traffic Jam

The column Tuesday on the alleged “New Jersey Traffic Conspiracy” noted two of the three access lanes allowing drivers from Fort Lee, N.J. onto the bridge to New York were closed last summer shortly after the town’s Democratic mayor, Mark Sokolich, declined to endorse Christie’s re-election bid. Sokolich has indicated he believes his lack of support for Christie led to the traffic jam, which the column said temporarily turned his town into a “parking lot.”

At a hearing on Monday, the column said several witnesses indicated they share Sokolich’s suspicions, including Patrick Foye, who is the executive director of the agency Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, which oversees the bridge. Foye was appointed by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D).

The Times column said bridge workers were told the lane closures were caused by a non-existent “traffic study” and Foye said it was ordered by David Wildstein, a Port Authority official and longtime Christie confidante. Wildstein announced on Friday he will resign from Port Authority effective Jan. 1. According to the column, Christie denied he played any role in the lane closures and called the theory politics played a role “crazy.”

If it’s the company I’m thinking of here in town, that would be a great place to work. Sure, ask away. I’m looking for something in biz dev, business analysis or strategy, or what they now call “client success” or relationship management. I’m analytical, good with people, like to network (when I’m not job hunting, anyway) and I like strategy and problem solving, but a straight sales role isn’t for me. I’m finding that most sales positions are cold call intensive and I hate that. I’m not interested in being a telemarketer.

With an MBA and almost 20 years of combined experience with tons of transferable skills I’ve gained along the way, I should be able to find something already. Gah.

Job search SUCKS.

Unemployment SUCKS MOAR.

I don’t understand why Rand Paul, etc. believe that cutting off unemployment benefits will “motivate” unemployed people to “look for work” instead of “sitting around all unemployed & moochin teh unemployment.”
THEY ARE ALREADY TOTALLY LOOKING FOR WORK.

What Rand Paul, etc. want is for “overqualified” professionals to become desperate and take low-paying jrrbs at Walmart and McDonalds because HURR HURR FREE MARKET and then Wally & MickeyD have a larger labor pool and can offer MOAR PART TIME & LOWER MINIMUM WAGE JRRBZ.

Fuck that shit.

Bezos’ Blue Origin space venture loses protest over NASA’s launch pad

nbcnews.com

“The Government Accountability Office on Thursday rejected a protest from the Blue Origin space venture that has been holding back action on NASA’s plan to hand over control of its historic Launch Complex 39A to a commercial operator.

“The decision is a setback for Blue Origin, which is backed by Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos — and it’s a positive sign for SpaceX, the rocket company founded by tech titan Elon Musk.

“On one level, the tug of war over Pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida has been portrayed as a battle of the billionaires. On another level, it’s a battle over how NASA’s surplus space resources will be used in the wake of the shuttle fleet’s retirement and the space agency’s shift toward commercialization.”

It’s fascinating to watch Twitter cliques form, especially when they form around a particular, previously-established *-ism. Predictably, they usually adopt all the jargon and conventions of that *-ism in an ongoing attempt (conscious or not) to attain and maintain status within their preferred mutant chimp community. This is very basic primate ethology.

Large social media footprints are overrated and ultimately meaningless. Look at the original subjuect of this thread. She got famous just because she had a lot of social media traction. It didn’t do her any favors and arguably made all her problems worse.

I’ve got an MBA that focused on digital and social media. I’ve got Tumblr, Instagram, Google+, Reddit, and Pinterest accounts that have never been used. I have a 12-year old LiveJournal account that’s dormant except for one or two posts a year. My Twitter feed is more active as a source for things to retweet unless I involve myself in a debate. My Foursquare account only gets used when I remember it’s on my phone. My Facebook page is the one place that I’m active on but I’ve got my privacy settings locked down pretty tight so only family and RL friends see my posts.

There’s a point where social media gets to be too much. I focus my attention on FB and keep HootSuite open to find tweets and things to talk about. The rest are just there because I’m sentimental and can’t delete them (my LiveJournal) or I picked them up in grad school and never paid attention to them again.

stalkers

the fact is, it’s much too easy for stalkers to get aholt of serious information about you on the web to really stalk you in real time and space

if you have a first name, a profession or college attended, and a municipality of residence, within 15 minutes you can be looking at a picture of the person’s house, not to mention know their age and the last five places they lived

if you have a last name as well, it can be done in less than five minutes

that’s why i advise anybody posting anything on the web to think twice and then again before posting anything that could help anybody find out who they are - and imho you should never, ever, use your real name on a public social network site

Nah, you’re probably doing it right. I don’t consider Twitter to be something that should be taken seriously. It’s the Internet version of going to a bar. You walk in fully understanding that many, or maybe most, of the other people in there are drunk. They’ve all got something to say that they think is really great, but the reason they think it’s really great is because they’re drunk. Sometimes they’re right, in spite of themselves. If you hang around in the bar long enough, you’ll probably wind up drunk yourself, even though you promised you’d only have a couple. Eventually, someone will say something that makes a lot of sense to you in ways you haven’t considered before. That’s how you know you’re drunk, and have become part of the crowd.

At the end of the night, you’ll get tired of all the drunken yelling and interaction, and if you’ve had a bit more than was good for you, you may find yourself feeling somewhat ill. You’ll spend the next day or two thinking nothing good about the Twitter pub.

But sooner or later, you’ll be back.

BTW, is game of thrones on again with new episodes? I haven’t been keeping track.

I don’t think they’ll be ready with the next batch until late spring 2014.

I don’t use any social media whatsoever, and only blog under a couple of pseudonyms. I just found out these people have my real name, address and phone number—and I have no idea how they got it. They call themselves the “Social Network for Small Businesses”. My internet “footprint” is very small.

There is NO, absolutely NO, privacy on the internet.

I’ve noticed my credit card purchases are effecting the pop up ads I’ve been getting. How they connect my visa account and my IP is a pretty neat trick.

I keep thinking the White Walkers will finally figure out that they could have gone underwater around the end of the Wall, and die of shame.

Fated to birth,
Fated to death,
Fated to fiet
Fated I am I am.

Not sure if this verse takes up 8 seconds of thrash metal, or 20 minutes of doom metal. I’m partial to the latter, but [ dot dot dot ]

re: #234 RealityBasedSteve

Like to see more on that please. Just using TN. as an example. Population is about 6.5 million, assume equal distribution of gender and date of birth.
3.25 million males / 365 possible birthdays = 8,900 males in TN that share my date of birth.

I’m not sure I doubt you, but would like to see more.

RBS

I just realized a flaw in my calculations. I was thinking of date of birth as “birth day” but I didn’t factor in the year. That changes things. Here I’m going to play physic’s class and say “assume a perfectly smooth sphere in a perfect vacuum on a frictionless surface”.

Lets toss in a range of 80 years. (I know that people live past 80, but it’s going to be far out in the right hand end of the curve)
3.25 million men in TN
29,200 possible birth dates in 80 year span (dropping leap years)

3.25 million / 29,200 = appx 111 males between newborn and 80 could share my date of birth (including year)

I confess to mulling over whether to post this story or not, because as someone who leans rather far to the left, I prefer to think that all the dumb is over there on the right side of the aisle.

And I know that when it comes to grammar and spelling, e-mails are often an exempted species…

…but holy cow, really?

I’m going to leave the (sic)s in the story, exactly as written:

Auburn lawmaker draws fire for comments about truck drivers

The Maine Republican Party on Wednesday released an email in which State Rep. Brian Bolduc, D-Auburn, railed against noisy trucks and questioned the intelligence of truck drivers.

“We need more police survalence (sic) to crack down on this s**t,” the email said. “They rumble past our homes before they get to the bridge and to turn onto mill street (sic) especialy (sic) those god damed (sic) lumber trucks. They release those breaks (sic) and our floors and windows rumble and the sound scares pets and children in our homes. You would think the drivers would have enough common courtesy not to do this infront (sic) of residential homes but then again one look at them and you can see they probably dont (sic) have a whole hell of allot (sic) of brains in their heads.”

“I want something done about it pronto,” the email said. “I want a cruiser stationed on this road (you can use my driveway) every day between 630 am and 8pm (wich (sic) is when the traffic is running) for a week and i (sic) want to see citations stacking up or ill (sic) have every damned resident of this town who lives on a busy road in that city council chamber!”

If this is Inglish for the 2ist Centery, I want nothing to do withit.

Yeah, I was a bit of in my memory. I do find the phrase

appx 111 males between newborn and 80 could share my date of birth (including year)

very amusing for some reason though.

Thanks!!!! I’ve got to check that out more when I get a chance later on. Zip code does make perfect sense however.

If you were a 20-something HS dropout/gamer, you could no doubt find something with a govt contractor.

Apparently. My husband would love to land an entry level BAH job with his 20 plus years of exemplary military service, 3 master’s degrees, and actual FBI-performed top secret SCI, etc. But nope—can’t even get an interview.

It is a civil war: GOP elites, attempting to save their political asses have seceded from conservatism.

But Conservatism will prevail, at least within the GOP…
