Tech Note: New Feature: Drag and Drop Uploading

Drag, then drop
LGF • Views: 20,052

We have a cool new feature for registered users tonight — uploading images to your Image Library is now easier than ever. In the comment section, you can now upload an image simply by dragging and dropping it on the “Upload Image” button.

The feature is backward-compatible; if you click the “Upload Image” button, you still get the old-fashioned file selector, in case you’re stuck using a caveman browser that doesn’t understand the Javascript FileReader API.

It’s a drag and drop world now, baby.

UPDATE at 1/9/14 5:59:39 pm

Drag and drop image uploading is now enabled in the LGF Pages posting window, in the popup editing windows for Pages and articles, and in the LGF Spy.

(Note that you can also drag and drop images into the text editing box, just to give us all a bigger target.)

Create a PageThis is the LGF Pages posting bookmarklet. To use it, drag this button to your browser's bookmark bar, and title it 'LGF Pages' (or whatever you like). Then browse to a site you want to post, select some text on the page to use for a quote, click the bookmarklet, and the Pages posting window will appear with the title, text, and any embedded video or audio files already filled in, ready to go.
Or... you can just click this button to open the Pages posting window right away.
