Glenn Beck: 65 Years From Now, Gay Activists Will Be Arresting Christians

Wingnuts • Views: 28,205

Glenn Beck began this segment by playing a 54 year old audio clip of an attorney general warning young people not to “become” homosexual because they would be hunted down and arrested. Beck and his pals correctly mocked this person (whom they didn’t identify), and Beck called it an example of “heterofascism,” and that no one would ever be so crazy as to say anything so ridiculous. But as Right Wing Watch pointed out, he is wearing a cap to honor Pastor Ken Hutcherson of Seattle, one of the most vehemently anti-gay pastors around who had recently passed away.

Then Beck quickly devolves into his own unique lunacy.

Beck (and by extension the kind of filth he gathers to his fold) are the kind of people who assume if they hate you, you would if you could treat them, the way they’d treat you.

All Glenn Beck is showing us is the depth of his depravity. In 50 years, bigoted Christians will live like the Amish, disconnected from all the modernity they hate, clinging like spider monkeys to their tired old traditions, and they’ll be most likely laughed at.

Which, sounds like a fate worse than death to a hack like Glenn Beck.

This is the same kind of demagoguery that gets paranoid simple-minded whites to believe that blacks are preparing to lock up whites in FEMA concentration camps.

Numerically small groups fighting for equalit—like gays and blacks before them—will not be in a position any time in the foreseeable future to carry out such extreme acts.

3 ObserverArt  Wed, Jan 15, 2014 2:03:43pm

So, is this like the fear that once Obama was elected there would be reparations to correct the wrongs slung against people of color by those that messed with them and held them back in an earlier time?

The answer you’re looking for is yes. He wouldn’t have it any other way. Literally, he is INSANELY paranoid and won’t hire anyone who doesn’t think like he does.

9 EPR-radar  Wed, Jan 15, 2014 4:31:24pm

Glenn Beck gets everything wrong, as usual. The attitude of the prosecutor from 54 years ago can only be viewed as “heterofascism” from today’s point of view. Back then, it was SOP.

Of course, a big chunk of the US right would like to go right back to those attitudes of 54 years ago (or worse).

10 Internet Tough Guy  Wed, Jan 15, 2014 4:31:36pm

I’m sure it’s completely coincidental that Beck will be dead 65 yrs from now.

The Mrs. Fish and I talked a little bit about this the other day. See, American Christians have this persecution complex because America refuses to let them make all the rules. What “we” don’t get, though, is that Jesus didn’t want us to make all the rules. So what we wind up with is a bunch of Christians sounding like the petulant children they are, while in other places in the world, Christians are under REAL persecution and we do nothing to help because we’re too self-centered to see it. And we think that this is okay! Ugh. I need to get off my soapbox now, but man, does this get me hot under the collar.

Following the announcements out of this year’s SHOT Show, so far at least five different companies have announced new subcompact pistol models … which is exactly what America needs more of, the most problematic and criminally conducive class of firearm. Some of the shit being announced is so cringe worthy. The industry is overdosing on its own ego.

Nice at least to see that Chiappa is going to make the model 39 lever action .22lr, and with the original half cock safety instead of the hammer block. Marlin has become a joke over the last couple of decades and they can probably expect to continue seeing other companies cannibalize their product line, they certainly deserve it. It’s nice to see that some kind of market for classic lever action wood rifles still exists in the modern tacticool environment.

Actually, I don’t. I have no real need for a home-defense firearm and probably won’t wind up purchasing one, in the end. It’s not an argument I’m prepared to support, so ask someone who actually keeps a weapon for home defense.

And how break action double barrel shotguns are so much cooler than pump or semi autos. Purchased a 90 year old LC Smith earlier this week on consignment, made a ridiculously low ball offer not really expecting the seller to accept.

More on that international child pornography ring.

Global pedophile webcam ring smashed by joint police operation

worldnews.nbcnews.com

“An international pedophile group that arranged “heinous” child sexual abuse on live webcams has been dismantled by a joint operation between U.S. investigators and other forces across the world, officials said Wednesday.

“Children have been rescued from a living nightmare,” said James Dinkins the executive associate director of the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “The group responsible for these heinous crimes mistakenly believed that they could use technology to avoid detection, but they were wrong.”

(snip)

“The investigation began after British police found indecent videos on computers on a routine visit to the home of a registered sex offender.”

It appears that it is actually a good thing for some people to be monitored closely.

On my humble budget I went for a Remington 700 in police SWAT trim. .223 Got it from the famous B&B when they went bk. When I shoot it it’s accurate to 1 moa. When someone good with a rifle gets ahold of it it shoots better.

Where work always need be done is to try to sway anyone that does buy into Beck BS (met a few) if you can by pointing out how crazy some of his shit is and wrong for our country and to subtly make them feel like they too are crazy by association without calling them out per say.

It isn’t easy but you can always get a word in, a post on a forum, a comment at a news site. And by doing it in “nice” way and not mean-spirited you might get someone to at least consider there stance.

Slow erosion by highlighting the stupid is all that will work.

Speaking of wheel guns, S&W announced that the Model 66 revolver was going back into production. Stainless steel, adjustable sights, six shot .357 magnum/.38 special with, interestingly enough, a Canada legal 4.25” barrel length. The barrel is a tensioned two piece similar to the old Dan Wessons - not user replaceable but with the accuracy improvements it brings. MSRP? $850. It’s going to be a long layaway for me … :)

They also finally made a 5 shot .44 Magnum on the middle sized L frame. Model 69…

Tonight’s food pr0n action:

Risotto and Shrimp

Parmesan risotto and seared shrimp. Plus for the risotto was using some of the smoked turkey-based broth from Christmas time - it added some nice additional flavor hints that regular chicken broth just doesn’t have. However, I had to penalize the dish heavily since I did not use a good aged and strong Parmesan. What I did use was pretty flat in flavor and made everything suffer. The shrimp was pre-cooked and frozen. Key with it was searing it in a hot pan while still frozen. That got the sear flavors on the outside while just thawing the rest of the shrimp without overcooking it further. And a glass of a nice white wine to go with it all.

What are the Lizards eating tonight?

Nice. My supper is gone, but I’ll share.

Just a simple penne pasta in a browned butter garlic sauce with steamed broccoli on the side.

Penne because I’ve found no other pasta as adept at dealing with the, well, oiliness of the browned butter garlic sauce.

Because all that is, is:
melt a stick (half cup) of butter over low heat. Add a head of garlic (peeled and chopped) to the melted butter. Cook garlic in butter over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter starts to brown and the garlic goes golden. You can increase the heat to medium to speed the cooking.

Timing is key. Start the sauce when the pound of dry pasta goes into the boiling water. The sauce should be done about the time you toss the noodles into a colander to strain. Put the pasta back in the pan, pour the garlic butter over the top, and toss to mix.

Notice I didn’t salt. You can, and indeed if you’ve no problem I almost recommend it. Almost. Me, I prefer to grate a little parmesan or romano on top which has its own salt (from its processing). On the other hand if you’re seeking a salt-free dish with flavor, here you go.

Last thing: I was making for six. Reduce appropriately.

Man to get $1.6M for humiliating 3-enema ordeal after traffic stop

A city and county in New Mexico have agreed to settle for $1.6 million their portion of litigation brought by an arrestee who said he was subjected to a humiliating hospital anal exam involving three enemas, a colonoscopy and more after a traffic stop last year.

The city of Deming and Hidalgo County got a search warrant to authorize the examination of David Eckert after he was pulled over for failing to yield to a stop sign when exiting a parking lot on Jan. 2. It was based on a police dog’s alert to the alleged presence of drugs near the driver’s seat of his vehicle and a claim that Eckert appeared to be clenching his buttocks, according to the Associated Press and Forbes.

[…]

There are still two doctors and one hospital that have not settled, ‘and that portion of the case is ongoing.’

I love that dishes can get great flavors from relatively simple ingredients and what is essentially quick and easy preparation. About as fast and easy as pulling and heating sauce from a jar. And you have a much better control of what went into the dish.

There are still two doctors and one hospital that have not settled, ‘and that portion of the case is ongoing.’

And they’re the one’s with a professional admonition to “first do no harm,” the ones who were in the best position to put a stop to the police abuse. Instead they helped carry it out. I hope they’re punished hard financially over this.

Bondo. Wonderful invention.

A miracle cure for anyone who’s ever worked with sheet metal. It was my go-to when I tried to patch up the rust holes on the Mrs. Fish’s Fishmobile. Unfortunately, those holes were beyond even the almighty power of Bondo, and I would have to cut them out and weld them (which is definitely beyond my capabilities at present).

I suspect in the world of Mighty Samson, acquiring a can of Bondo requires a four week safari followed by a nighttime raid on the Temple of RaBen, and a wrestling match versus a dragon with a swtichblade.

Some of the finish fillers body shops use now are really advanced. Tough, good adhesion and very sandable to a fine finish. Goes on real creamy too. Add that to modern welding to patch in some metal and you can fix those dings right up!

re: #46 Feline Fearless Leader

Looks Yum! I often cook grilled shrimp with garlic cheese grits.
Tonight…New Orleans style Sloppy Roast Beef Po Boys.

I miss them so. It was my go-to meal after a late night on the town in NOLA.
Pretty good recipe here

Got a good family food anecdote.

After my parents got married there was obvious discussion about favored foods. Apparently one of my father’s favorites at that time was sloppy joes. So my mother tried this recipe, that recipe, etc. for sloppy joes and just could never hit on one he liked as good as his mother’s version.

So, during a visit to her in-laws in coal country Pennsylvania my mother got a chance to interrogate her mother-in-law on what the secret was for making sloppy joes the right way.

Which was browning the ground meat and then mixing ketchup into it.

(Shows how getting a liberal education can end up making you out think yourself.)

When I was in college (yikes! 30 years ago!), I stumbled across a copy of the old Gold Key Star Trek #1 in a used book shop. “All comic books $.25,” the sign read. I got my greedy little fingers on it and sold it shortly thereafter at a comic shop for $25.

My greedy little fingers were also poor little fingers, and back then $25 was good for a whole week of mad money.

Of course, now the damned thing is worth something like $500. I guess when it comes right down to it, I’m not too far removed from Homer Simpson.

We went to see Lone Survivor then out to eat with some long time friends tonight who are very Republican and religious. They had no idea how much my views have changed in the last year and that I am now a democrat and no longer a Christian. I tried so hard to avoid talking about politics and religion and then couldn’t restrain myself when they started the bashing of Pres. Obama. We argued for at-least an hour about equal marriage rights for gay people and they finally had to resort to saying that gay people shouldn’t have the same marriage rights because they don’t share the same Christian family values. It got so bad that I finally had to say that I don’t believe in Jesus or the bible anymore and they gasped so loud everyone around us looked at us. They also gasped when I said I agree with almost everything Obama has done and that I think the healthcare reform is a great thing. Every time I used facts and logic, they changed the subject and got so mad at me. My husband kept changing the subject but it didn’t work. I don’t think they like me anymore at all. I’ve lost so many friends and family that I’m numb to it. As we were talking to our separate cars they said that Republicans were going to take over the senate next elections and that Obamacare will be repealed and I said Hillary will be our next president and they looked at me with utter disgust. I might as well have been a serial killer in their eyes I’m pretty sure. One of the best lines was when they tried to convince me that they never saw any racism in Alabama where they are from except for reverse racism. Another doozie was that disabled war veterans only live in poverty because of poor life choices and because they don’t want help. I laughed out loud at the one and could barely contain myself.
