Great Moments in GOP Election Fraud: Dinesh D’Souza Indicted

Politics • Views: 17,831

You know how conservatives are always issuing dire warnings about election fraud, and demanding tough new voter ID laws in disadvantaged areas to make sure the lower classes don’t cheat?

Well, um, yeah. Dinesh D’Souza Indicted Over Campaign Contributions.

NEW YORK — Dinesh D’Souza, a conservative commentator and best-selling author, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for arranging excessive campaign contributions to a candidate for the U.S. Senate.

The candidate was Wendy Long, a Republican who sought to unseat Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand as New York’s junior senator in 2012, according to a person familiar with the case. …

The indictment said D’Souza directed individuals to contribute a total $20,000 to the campaign of an unnamed Senate candidate in 2012 and then reimbursed them for their contributions.

Federal law in 2012 limited primary and general election campaign contributions to $2,500 each, for a total of $5,000, from any individual to any one candidate.

One of the more benign effects of religion zealotry as applied to politics. I’m sure D’Souza justified this stupidity (and the fraud) on the grounds that he was thereby opposing the Armies of Satan.

They aren’t interchangeable. Justin Bieber is an undisciplined 19-year old. His wrongs are those of weakness. He needs to be taught to be a proper man.

By contrast, the wrongs of Dinesh D’Souza have been born of malice and calculation. In his case punitive action is needed to impress upon him that fraud will not be tolerated.

Bieber is a menace to public safety, D’Souza to the rule of law itself.

Normally I’d get annoyed by anyone putting that little twerp next to a band with actual talent. HOWEVER, sending him overseas with only Jello Biafra and/or Henry Rollins for company might be the wake up call he needs.

Thread this morning thought of adding him to the Iron Maiden line-up solely to serve as Eddy-fodder.

Send them both to Kiev so that the Ukraine uprisings finally get noticed on American TV.

It does strike me a bit strange how little interest there is in the Ukraine story. There has been some discussion here so I assumed there would be some interest among progressives. Nope. I can understand the unrest in Thailand wouldn’t generate much interest from Americans since Thailand is far away and the people are brown(ish). Ukraine is much closer, white people and good quality riot videos. Maybe we’ll have to wait until a Republican or Dem picks a side, then everybody else will know who to oppose. At the very least we’ll have to wait until the republicans blame Obama for whatever the end result.

I was surprised to see that he is only 19 years old. I have a working computer that is older than that (486 DX2), as well as assorted shoes, socks and possibly underwear. It seems like I have been hearing his name in the background buzz of pop culture for decades but that can’t be right.

BTW that street racing via using your posse to block traffic is not uncommon. D_L just had a frustrating incident on Hwy 605 just last Sunday. The traffic was blocked like a rolling stop that CHP does. Then the 3, 2, 1 hand gesture and two guys were off racing. Then twice more. She hit 911 to alert CHP but all the cars had paper over the plates.

Seven cars involved. D_L had her own gesture to provide but that was little satisfaction.

An out-of-town heist becomes a nightmare for a crew of French burglars when they mistakenly rob the head of the Chicago mafia. Unaccustomed to the ways of the American underworld, it is not long before they have the mafia, the FBI and a couple of street gangs on their backs as they attempt to make their way back to Paris. he law-school dropout has an interesting story to tell and plans to pen the details in his upcoming book, “Negative Liberty,” which he says “won’t be a manifesto,” but will “leave a couple of zingers… for the young, disaffected radical towards his own political and social development.”

When he’s not creating revolutionary new weapons that can be made from home, Wilson works with the libertarian developer group Unsystem, where he places the final touches on the soon-to-be-released Bitcoin anonymizer Dark Wallet.

“If Bitcoin represents anything to us, it’s the ability to forbid the government,” says Wilson. “DarkWallet is your way of locking out the State, flipping the channel to one beyond observation.”

Here’s a story that’ll trip Alex Jones’ trigger:

Military gives Utah police MRAP, grenade launchers

The Department of Defense recently gave the Utah Highway Patrol a mine-resistant ambush protected vehicle (MRAP), various weaponry and other military surplus equipment as part of their 1033 Program.

According to an audit conducted April 2013, Utah’s law enforcement agencies have received $2.8 million worth of military gear. In total, 62 local police forces and three statewide agencies have enlisted in the program, but it was the UHP that most recently received an MRAP, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

“Obviously, it is intimidating,” Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Lepley said of his office’s newly acquired MRAP. “But that isn’t its primary purpose. It’s saving lives. I can drive this right through the middle of a gunfight.”

Since 2011 Utah police have received multiple MRAPs, four grenade launchers, 1,230 rifles, 17 .45-caliber pistols, medical gear, camera equipment, pliers, emergency blankets, and various other equipment.

Oh man, wow. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with this.

London Underground: Victoria Line Suspended After Concrete Poured into Control Room

London’s Victoria tube line is currently suspended after an engineering team flooded a control room with fast-setting concrete.

Photos appearing on the UsVsth3m website appear to show a signalling engine room covered in cement, as well as submerged controls panels.

Transport for London (TFL) said contractors were working on the new station in an area next to the Victoria line signal control room. This work involved the use of water and cement which then “leaked into the room” resulting in the disruption.

Hundreds of underground trains are set to be hit by the delays, causing travel chaos for potentially thousands of commuters during peak times.

The MRAP is not a police vehicle. It’s a military vehicle designed for a specific threat. Buried bombs. All SWAT needs is ordinary armored trucks like what we see Brinks or FedEx use. That’s 5 MPG, too much weight for streets and high maintenance costs forever. LAPD had a Bradley. Guess what it’s used for now? It’s a relic. A reminder of a bad idea on display at the police museum.

Hey I hear some B-52’s are coming up next for retirement. I’m sure they will be much better than helicopters for LAPD.

Seriously. I’m all for recycling and re-purposing but WTF? Though I can see a use for pliers and emergency blankets do we really need fucking MRAPs and grenade launchers in the hands of our police forces? This is lunacy.

SWAT vehicles are getting less like Brinks trucks and more like MRAPs anyways. The results of IED attacks against older armored vehicles have been analyzed and newer designs have incorporated the lessons learned. War stimulates technological change and in this case that change involves improved blast protection.

Moreover, in cases of a suspected IED or even for a meth lab an MRAP’s blast protection might be the difference between life and death.

Rotary grenade launchers can also be used to fire tea gas rounds, pepper spray rounds, ‘rubber shot’ rounds and ‘rubber baton’ rounds. They are effective riot control delivery systems. Honestly, its unlikely the UHP was given any high explosive rounds.

Well okay just two questions. Here in the USA- What IED attacks? And why SWAT rather than bomb squads? The only valid argument for them I think any way is the price,

Short term cheap long term costly.

1. All homemade bombs are IEDs. What I was considering was a scenario where an MRAP was used to approach a suspected bomb.

2. The MRAP could be used by both units.

Full preparation for the next OWS protests then. I feel much better now.

Wouldn’t a bomb guy still have to get out to attend to/disable the bomb or send in a bomb robot?

The robot can be deployed out the rear hatch with the MRAP facing the suspected bomb. The robot can then be controlled remotely while the operator remains protected within the vehicle.

A more basic question.

What are the direct expenses of maintaining an MRAP even if its unused, and what are the subsidiary expenses that would arise from its use (such as gas, road damage).

I mean, up front, it’s free, but what’s the back end, particularly if it’s going somewhere where maintenance is cutting into a small county budget.

They could deploy a robot out of a soccer moms van. Dude, it’s overkill. Squared. Hell Sochi needs then more than small town USA.

So a small county gets this MRAP. Expense aside, WTF? Oh, lordy, Johnny set off another stink bomb in the high school locker! Send in the MRAP! Have we really gone that insane?

That I’d have to research. I should note though that this particular MRAP is owned by a state agency. However, another MRAP was recently transferred to the Fort Pierce, FL police department.

About Dinesh D’Souza, I’m embarrassed to say that I actually purchased his DVD, 2016. I was thinking about doing a business deal with a right-wing guy whom I really liked (although I decided to back out of the potential deal). But I really did like this person, and he implored me to watch the 2016 DVD. I wanted to appreciate his point of view (OK, I already said I’m embarrassed), so I bought the DVD on amazon (please don’t do the same) and watched it (yet another mistake).

D’Souza’s DVD was one of the saddest exercises in self-insult I’ve ever seen. One particularly sad scene was when D’Souza, narrating to the camera, COMPLAINED that he and his video crew had to sneak up on Barack Obama’s various friends and relatives, because those people invariably tended to avoid him. He said this as if those people were treating him unfairly! Of course, those people were, very simply, responding as any civilized person would respond to unwanted harassment by a hateful, delusional nutjob.

Ben has parted ways with reality.

Unlike liberals, conservatives don’t believe societal standards must be legislated.

So, I just couldn’t help but seize on this. What do Republicans do with government, but make laws, to enforce their social standards? I’m trying to figure out just how fucking retarded Ben Shapiro actually is.

So his acumen at electioneering is on par with his skill at political analysis, history, anthropology, sociology, documentary making, marital fidelity…..

I dunno, his scam to get Bill Maher off the air a few years back worked quite well. D’Souza is kinda a proto-O’Keefe.
