Rachel Maddow interviews Tim Huelskamp about SOTU, Huelskamp Benghazis

Wingnuts • Views: 22,014

Rachel Maddow began her interview with Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R - Rubber Room) with a question about a comment Huelskamp had tweeted accusing President Obama of politicizing the military when he ended the State of the Union speech by praising the bravery of Army Ranger Cory Remsburg, and his courage as he has battled back from being in a coma and nearly dying.

Huelskamp’s reply is a world salad that would make Sarah Palin proud.

GOP “logic”: When Obama acknowledges the troops, it’s an act of “politicization”; when a GOPTP acknowledges the troops, it’s “honoring” them.

I happened to watch the SOTU on MSNBC because I knew they would cover the whole thing without talking heads butting in telling me what to think. So, I left it on and was glad I did. That bit of TV was worth watching. I thought see was going to reach through the camera and grab him by the throat, drag him back through the lens into their studio and kick his ass. I’d put my money on Maddow any day.

I keep saying this, but do guys like Huelskamp have the least bit of self-awareness of how stupid he appears going full ‘nut like that? Do they watch the videos after, or are they that full of ‘nut bull they really do not see it as being crazy? And if all that is for their supporters back home, I’d have to consider moving out of that district.

Hell no. He is likely in a safe seat and will probably raise millions for treating a woman like shit on TV. It was embarrassing to see a politician sound no different than the trash that frequents Freeperville. But, they (teabaggers) know their base.

Poll: Huckabee Is Now The GOP’s Top Choice For 2016 After Libido Remark

Uncle Sugar has apparently provided Mike Huckabee with a polling bounce.

The latest survey from Democratic PPP released Wednesday showed the former Arkansas governor surging among Republican voters nationwide in the wake of his head-scratching comment about the female libido.

According to the poll, 16 percent of GOP primary voters said they would prefer to see Huckabee as the party’s presidential nominee in 2016, making him the top Republican in the field. Only a month ago, PPP showed Huckabee polling at 11 percent and trailing both New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) among GOP voters.

Costco pays its employees more than its competitors, and it’s doing gangbusters business. It’s got a happier workforce, and the company’s profits are still the envy of most retail.

If Costco can do it, in a market niche with razor thin profits, why not in other lines of work (industry sectors)?

Except that many other industries treat workers like crap, and don’t care about fostering a work ethic because the employees are disposable.

In my neighborhood they built a super Walmart about 8 yrs ago or so. It was always busy, seemed to be doing well. Then about 5 yrs later they built a second one about 3 miles down the same road, another super Walmart. They then literally walled off half of the first store (the other half has sat empty since then) and made it smaller. I have no idea why, unless the actual idea was to just own two big tracts of land and not pay any taxes on them. Meanwhile a lot of smaller businesses that were around before Walmart are gone now, hardware stores, a couple smaller groceries and pharmacies all gone. I still have no clue why any business would do that, there’s plenty of space on this particular State Route to spread the stores out farther so both could do a good amount of business.

There is a decommissioned church and school at this particular intersection. Walmart put in a bid to develop the property, but citizens felt that it would bring down property values, push out smaller businesses and lower overall worker pay.

Why would they think that? They are just prejudiced against successful business!//

re: #93 Romantic Heretic

I’ve watched stores and factories do this; Times get tight, they have 3 people doing a store or job at a mill/factory/shop. What to do? Get rid of one worker. The two left pick up the slack, work harder and more often than not get it done. The management is now convinced they are Mensa members. Time goes by and they look to cut costs and overhead once again. What to do? Cut that second guy. Now the remaining worker either by necessity or loyalty or whatever works his ass off. The management is Truly Genius’s and reward themselves appropriately. Eventually that remaining sucker walks gets fired or moves on when he’s had enough. Now every single person who is hired to do that job quits after a short amount of time because it’s impossible to do every single day. Nobody stays. Do you know what the problem is? Management does. Lazy people.

Poll: Huckabee Is Now The GOP’s Top Choice For 2016 After Libido Remark

[Embedded image]

Only a month ago, PPP showed Huckabee polling at 11 percent and trailing both New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) among GOP voters.

Clearly, the corruption just isn’t getting the job done.

I’m afraid the Governor will have to go full-blown whackadoodle if he hopes to remain in contention for the nomination.

re: #91 A Mom Anon

I take it they’ve survived without it then?

Mega stores take small businesses and turn the owners from makers to takers, yet the right loves big business.

Interestingly, the first quote from Reagan is not about protecting freedoms, which he didn’t, but “the people,” which is interesting. In light of the oft-repeated truism about one’s safety being in direct proportion to one’s liberty.
