Sorry to be OT right off the bat, but here’s the NWS snow forecast map for the current winter storm:

NWS snow total forecast through Tuesday, February 4

Lizards in the affected areas, stay warm!

Aside from the commercials and the Puppy Bowl, the best thing about Super Bowl Sunday is the food. I got one of the greatest appetizer/breakfast ideas ever from a friend today— Mini Chicken & Waffles. It annoys me that I never thought of it before:

Tiny frozen waffles topped with pieces of applewood smoked bacon and a chicken nugget, then drizzled with maple syrup or honey. I plan on making this sometime this week.

That looks really good…maybe could use some sharp cheese as well?

This is a great little film - you rarely get to hear a director explain his approach in this much depth. I found it fascinating.

And you’re where in relation to Lexington? I’m down near Clarksville, not looking at too bad, and it’s so wet that I doubt that there will be any accumulation.

This is probably my favorite of his films. Very curious to see what he’s going to do with Ant-Man for Marvel.

I’ve already made a note on that one…. sounds like a winner.

I’m on the northern edge of the only dark blue spot on that map (in eastern Kentucky, just south of the Ohio River).

**sigh**

Still pouring down rain here, but I just heard from a friend about 35 miles west of me and she says it’s a very heavy snow there now.

11 Justanotherhuman  Sun, Feb 2, 2014 2:36:07pm

Hmm. Was 67 here but the sun is going down and starting to get cooler now and down to 50 tonight. Lovely, sunny, we were in and out all day. : )

Rain and 57 tomorrow; same Tues. So tired of having to stay inside because of the weather. Sigh.

BTW, am I the only one here who isn’t going to watch football?

12 Backwoods_Sleuth  Sun, Feb 2, 2014 2:37:20pm

I’ve read accounts on twitter that Billo interrupted Obama 48 times in this interview.

I think the 48 interruptions were from a previous interview, but someone is probably totaling this one as we write.

Americans need to hold Allen West to the same standards they would for a white war criminal.

re: #19 Pie-onist Overlord

Exactly. Obama should be able to get away with:
Starting a war with false evidence.
Selling arms to the Iranians
Having an affair with an intern
Pardoning associates to keep them from testifying against you

21 blueraven  Sun, Feb 2, 2014 2:50:09pm

Several times O’Reilly started a question with…some people say…

Obama came back with…yeah, because you and your TV station push that view

Thunder sleet should probably be more common than thunder snow.
I’ll have to listen because the rain here just turned to freezing rain/sleet.

N.J. Democrat says has seen no evidence Christie knew of traffic scheme

It’s starting to look like the whole thing might be bullshit.

32 Backwoods_Sleuth  Sun, Feb 2, 2014 3:07:26pm

hahahahahaaa!

If there was really a god, this would happen before every WH press conference…

If such evidence does exist, a state panel investigating the closures has not yet seen it

Too soon to dismiss it all.

I’d watch with the sound on if the football commentary was delivered by Kermit and a few other muppets rather than the current clown posse.

Even if he did not know about the scheme ahead of time, if he knew before going to the press that there was no traffic study or that the closings had been perpetrated by people within his office and did nothing, then that’s as damning as being the guy who gave the order.

I was curious the other day whether they’d consider rolling out an opera star to do the anthem, but didn’t look to see who was going to do it. Nice to see that they went that route and thus the anthem was well sung and without much undue theatrics.
