The “terrorists” have won
LGF • Views: 15,146

Here’s today’s massive wall of text from a dedicated follower who’s been emailing similar crazy rants for about two years now. Based on “her” previous communications, “Linda Jo” is actually a right wing religious fanatic, but you wouldn’t know it from “her” latest deranged screed:

May we have some more spying, please, says Little Moldy Green Football! any country, any state, any household, any individual, any baby, any disabled person, any prisoner, any teacher, any senator, any blogger, anyone online, anyone with a phone, anyone with a credit card, anyone with transcripts, anyone who buys a plane ticket or a book from amazon, anyone with traffic tickets or a record, there should be no limits whatsoever! Why? Because ONE of them just MIGHT be a fucking oggedy boogedy TERRORIST! Lets screw every individual in the entire country from having any right of privacy or rob them of the right to avoid government invasiveness becase CHARLES fucking JOHNSON thinks its ok to spy on anyone the government wants to, for however long they want to, without cause or reason, because it MIGHT KEEP us safe ??? EVERYone needs to be tracked and watched and we need to be paranoid and delusional and live in fear instead of being free to live our lives without being scrutinized and watched, is that your philosophy? why dont you market please spy on me gov tshirts on amazon to promote your insaneagenda, at least that way you could profit from your delusional utopian vision for America. You are fucking insane if you really believe this crap. what is this bitter envy you have over Glenn Greenwald anyway, jealous that his and Snowdens spying expose was more important than your long forgotten Dan Rather document fraud and you decided to ridicule it as if it was nothing? It is a VIOLATION of our right to privacy, and you dont think that right is important? If thats the case, the “terrorists” have won.

Linda Jo

Right Charles remember when you said the NSA needs to be beyond review?

From last year:

Hating on people and calling them stupid for believing in God. you don’t have to believe in God, nobody gives a rats ass if you do or you don’t but you sure think of yourself as some kind of almighty being who gets to judge people who don’t have the same beliefs as yours. Get off your high horse and try and be A little more tolerant instead of being so judgmental and divisive, isn’t that what you liberals cry about all the time? Why does it bother you so much that people have religious beliefs? why do you hate people who have faith in a higher being and go to church? why do you sit on your pedestal and claim the only right way is evolution? does it make you feel all righteous and knowing? You sound like a preacher, fire and brimstone to all who have religion! They aren’t ALL Republicans you know, or did you ever even think of that? Pelosi is a catholic, she believes in abortion, but she’s still a catholic or so she says. does that make her stupid? of course not, because your arguments have more to do with bashing republicans, she’s ok to believe in god because she’s a fucking democrat. It’s always fun to check in with the little green turds and see what the hypocrisy of the day is. May your little followers line your pockets with amazon commissions because maybe that’s really what you’re really all about! maybe that’s your “god”.

Maybe I’m naive, but I don’t feel substantially burdened by current surveillance tactics. Not in terms of “losing my privacy” or being subjected to “government invasiveness.”

The fears all seem so ethereal, almost imaginary. As if non-terror suspects will suddently be unfairly prosecuted or sent to FEMA camps. If I’m wrong and there are significant civil liberties violations, I’ll admit it and oppose such surveillance in the future. But for now I’d rather have some espionage done to possibly prevent the next 9/11, Oklahoma City, presidential assassination, etc, etc.

I know it’s fashionable to say Obama is weak, because he often prefers diplomacy to chest thumping. But the drone program and the surveillance suggest otherwise.

From earlier last year:

You really need to let Google know their description of your site:
“Weblog covering issues dear to both conservatives and US liberals”
…(what?) …is completely inaccurate and misleading. If you wanted to make it “smear conservatives and praise US liberals” that might work! I don’t know if at one time that description could have been valid or not, but it certainly isn’t now. It’s fraudulent and has nothing to do with what your site does, which is scour the internet for “news” you can use to slam Republicans and sneer and seethe and slander people as liars and racists, You don’t even generate most of the posts yourself, using contributors like “FemNaziBitch” to post content. Cute! If you don’t get it changed, I’ll file my own complaint because you’re a fraud. And for crying out loud, get over your Glenn Greenwald obsession. It’s kind of creepy. Thanks!

You’re welcome!

Griftwald has always attracted a lot of Paultards, if only because he supported Ron Paul in 2012.

“Whatever else one wants to say, it is indisputably true that Ron Paul is the only political figure with any sort of a national platform — certainly the only major presidential candidate in either party — who advocates policy views on issues that liberals and progressives have long flamboyantly claimed are both compelling and crucial.” ~ Griftwald

Bunch of whiny birdbrains. That’s one way to avoid discussing the empty chair who showed up for a debate, though, ..write a column about the Governor’s reluctance to keep funding a children’s tv show. Everyone loves Big Bird. No one said to chop off his head and cook him for Thanksgiving. Let the private sector keep feathering his nest. We have more important issues to resolve. Like how to pay for Julia from cradle to grave and make sure Sandra Fluke doesn’t go without condoms. I don’t recall a single liberal rant about the administration cutting security funding for our ambassadors overseas. But let a guy ask the question…does government really need to fund imaginary furry feathered Muppets? and you people start seething. Priorities!

Search for MH370: Live Report
By Justin Dear and (AFP) - 5 minutes ago

Sydney — 03:47 GMT - The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA)is due to hold a news conference with more details at 0430 GMT

03:45 GMT - Premature conclusions - Abbott is, however, warning against drawing premature conclusions.

“We must keep in mind the task of locating these objects will be extremely difficult and it may turn out that they are not related to the search for flight MH370.”

03:42 GMT - Satellite images - “The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has received information based on satellite information of objects possibly related to the search.”

“Following specialist analysis of this satellite imagery, two possible objects related to the search have been identified.”

Abbott says he has informed Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.

03:35 GMT - WELCOME TO AFP’S LIVE REPORT on the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 as Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott says two objects possibly related to the search have been sighted.

Abbott told parliament “new and credible information” had come to light nearly two weeks after the plane vanished.

He said an Australian air force Orion had been diverted to look into the objects. He did not specify where they were but Australia has taken charge of the search in the southern Indian Ocean.

What gives this paranoia its power is the story line that THEY are always watching— couldn’t possibly be true unless we’ve got the entire population of a similar planet watching everyone on Earth— so it’s a “surveillance state.” Really.

First some words FOR surveillance. You know the cameras in 7-11 stores? Lots of them. They’re “surveilling you” as you stalk the aisles looking for donuts. Well, no. They’re recording things for a day or two in a loop. Then, when a robber comes in, it’s amazing how many cases get solved by watching the tape. EVEN broadcasting on local channels. Police state?

Well, I’d like to see a police cars dashcam always on, for a whole shift. Never watched unless a) they need the tape to make a case, or b) citizen complains of brutality or misconduct. Recorder is unlocked and tape played back. Case made or dismissed. THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. Tech is being used to make us better and freer. Bad guys caught and ID’d. Prime facie.

Same thing goes for the dreaded, “they’re recording all the calls in ___ country.” Not listened to, but found if need be. I think the NSA has had this capability from the beginning, but now they’ve got themselves a searchable DVR. Did this call talk to that guy? What did he say? Oh, no problem. Or, so there’s the orders for the bomber. Get him.

The crucial thing is, what happens in this kind of society? Do we send out torturers in the middle of the night to Keith’s house to beat him up? There’s zero evidence of that one. The CIA torture thing? That’s a scandal. That crossed a big line. It’s behavior that leads us, if we let it, to a totalitarian world. The tech and smarts that found Osama? That’s a good thing.

Face it, if we stay at this level of technology into the 22nd century — if we survive that long — the world will be a huge experiment in performance art. Everything will be recorded, either by industry, or by government, or the people — whose iPhones got the great 1080p pictures of the Boston bombers. Everything will have an evidence trail. What’s crucial is, making our justice system and our political system the equal of this fantastic technology. There is NOTHING in this idea of the world being known through our networks of data that means that totalitarian world state is inevitable. Quite the contrary. The completely photographed and recorded world? That’s the Enlightenment.

Honestly I am still waiting for what I heard California did to go national, police officers have to wear glasses that constantly record everything they see/hear while they are on duty. Sounds like a great way to both gather evidence for trials and prevent incidents of police officers abusing their power.

I keep on saying…the genie is out of the bottle. Once the capability is there, it’s going to be used. You’re blindly naive to think it won’t and can’t be (cough cough Greenwald). Instead, you should think of solutions that take this capability as a given.
