Landing was safe. They’re hooking up one of those tow vehicles. Always amazes me that one of those little things can pull a fully loaded airliner.

It’s also because when they recruit people, the politics are paramount over the skill.

I get regular email updates from some of the job sites I use. I got one the other day from a gun rights group here in Texas looking for a new executive director. This is the beginning of their job description:

[Group name redacted] is looking for an energetic, motivational self-starter with excellent communication and media skills for the position of Executive Director. The right candidate will be enthusiastic about shooting sports and adamant about Second Amendment rights. The candidate must be up-to-date on the issues surrounding firearm legislation and news as well as deeply involved in shooting sports, whether that be hunting, shooting competitions, or shooting education and safety. The right candidate will be able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including gun enthusiasts, legislators, media and the outside community, and parents and educators.

It goes on and on like this. You have to scroll down to the bottom of the ad to see any actual job requirements.

When your politics trumps everything else, you’re going to end up hiring True Believers rather than the best person for the job.

Well, as an artist I have a feeling is has to do with hate. Hate gets in the way of creativity. A closed mind can’t be open to seeing.

That does not mean a hateful subject can’t be made into art. Usually in that case the artist is using hate to lead to understand which leads to acceptance and love.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Candy W. Dale has denied Gov. Butch Otter’s motion for a stay on her decision overturning Idaho’s ban on same-sex marriages.

After Dale’s ruling on Tuesday, Otter requested that an emergency hearing before Judge Dale take place before noon Wednesday on his request for a stay. Otter asked that no marriages be permitted until “completion of all appeals.”

Dale denied both of Otter’s requests.

Bad ass cat! He didn’t even hesitate to go in claws first. And the cat kept checking to see where the dog ran off.

Was that an American Bull Dog (Pit Bull)? I know people have nice things to say about many of them, but that reminds me of an attack out in front of my house about a year ago.

A guy was walking his Pit up the street and my next door neighbor was out with his little French Bulldog. My neighbor saw the Pit and asked the guy if he was cool. The pit owner said yeah, not a problem.

Just that quick, the Pit saw the French and went right after the little guy. The Pit bit into the back of the French and picked it up and was about to shake it in his teeth. The owner had to kick the shit out of the Pit to get him to drop the French.

My neighbor was way pissed…but had no time to argue, he grabbed his little dog and jumped in his car to take him to a ‘vet about a mile away. Took some stitches, but his dog was okay overall.

Scary shit how fast it all happened.

I had a cat that would chase dogs.

My next door neighbor would call me laughing, and tell me, “your cat is chasing my dogs around my (fenced in) yard.

But the cat was part of the social group with my bloodhound and two German shepherds. They tended to leave him alone.
