I was out there but they told me and my wife to leave because I am a felon. They don’t seem to understand that they are all felons now for intimidating law enforcement with deadly weapons. So don’t tell you that they need people. We sold everything we had to buy supplies and quit our jobs to be there 24/7. How dare you ask for help and shun us dedicated patriots!

They are going around doing background checks. I was down there for a week doing over watch and other things. I was not causing problems. Even stood armed next to a cop. I volunteered my info so they wouldn’t waste an hour doing a check. Our founders where criminals for taking a stand. Why am I any different when I have never been to prison yet I am a political enemy to the established oligarchy so they have papers that make me seem like a common criminal, who by the way, still deserve their rights to vote and own a firearm. If they don’t have those rights then they are not American citizens and therefore have immunity under their despotism. So, anyone trying to “get” me would find someone not even technically under their jurisdiction any longer. As far as I am concerned my government is a fascist enemy. Unlike all those loyal Nazis, I will not tolerate despotic rule over me and my family. My family has bled for this nation and our freedoms and I will not let their sacrifice go unanswered without my own sacrifice. So let them call me a criminal. Let them smear my name all over the place. George Washington would be proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with me and my wife. Who cares what all these loyalists think. They will think what they are told to think, so why should we care? We need to quit quibbling and bickering with each other and stand together.

And the scrubbing should commence shortly (warning: another InfoWars link):

Raw Story Connects Las Vegas Shooters to Alex Jones

The emerging narrative in the Las Vegas shooting now includes Alex Jones.
Raw Story, a liberal news blog, has placed Jones at the center of the controversy. “Jerad Miller outlined his political views, which were largely based on conspiracy theories promoted by Fox News and Alex Jones, in his social media postings, and he posted frequently about firearms and violent revolution,” writes Travis Gettys.
Jones and the liberty movement will now be implicated in the murder of police officers by way of insinuation. This is a repeated pattern.

Jerad Miller liked to dress up in a Joker costume and only liberals prance about in costumes.

Jerad was often spotted outside the couple’s Bruce Street apartment wearing camouflage when he wasn’t dressed as Peter Pan to go to work as a street performer and typically ranted about conspiracy theories.

He and his wife also dressed as the comic book villians Joker and Harley Quinn, neighbors said.

So he has evidence that they were advocates for nationalizing private business? Were they advocating for greater taxation on the top in order to fund social welfare programs? Or is it that they just adopted the they symbolism of an extremely racist organization, that happens to contain the word socialist, that tends to spout off about undeserving minorities stealing their money through welfare and that is what is keeping them down?

Lafayette CopBlock is a community of individuals united by the shared goals of police accountability, promotion of individual rights and dissemination of effective tactics to use while interacting with the police. facebook.com

Lafayette police confirmed that the shooting suspects had ties to Lafayette.

Lafayette police chief Pat Flannelly said, “We were contacted in the early morning hours by Clark County, (Nev.), coroner’s office asking us to follow up with possible relatives here. We have information they were here for a time. … They have ties to the area.”

Sure because Harry Reid could totally find TWO people who would be willing to turn themselves into conservative whackjobs, plant themselves at the Bundy Ranch and then be willing to KILL themselves, all so gun control could come to America.

Bearing in mind that all those other supposedly “staged” shootings made absolutely no progress in accomplishing that.

Yeah, that sounds totally plausible.

Yeah Loughner was Giffords. Holmes was the Aurora shooter. Sigh, been too many of these. In any case, I’m growing more supportive of gun control laws. We’ve got a serious problem with gun violence in this country and it’s a damn shame that whenever a politician wants to discuss it, he immediately gets bullied by the very powerful gun lobby.

You’ve called yourself, proudly, a classical liberal. Classical liberals are laissez-faire, anti-labor-laws, and in modern terms are libertarians. Whatever way you vote, you devote your time on LGF to tired, hackish magical balance fairy attacks, ping-ponging between lambasting liberals for not being serious to attacking Ta-Nehsi coates for writing too much.

You’re not a conservative, or a Republican, or a liberal, or a Classical liberal. For that, you’d have to be consistent and not just have this addiction to making a fool out of yourself over and over again.

It feels like we have one of these every week. Meanwhile in most other Western countries, mass shootings are extremely rare. What’s it going to take I wonder? I really do think there is a serious priority problem with the firearms lobby in this country. A lobby that routinely values firearms over human lives.

The Fox News echo chamber will chose to either:

1) ignore the events in Las Vegas;
2) highlight those tragic events as an example for why concealed carry gun laws should be the rule of the land;
3) offer the default answer: this is all somehow Barack Obama’s fault;
4) advance a lazy, intellectually bankrupt, and morally empty deflection: black people in Chicago shoot each other all the time!;
5) argue that these people are “sick” and “crazy”, so why are we even talking about their politics?;
6) lie and commit an intellectually rapacious and craven assault on the historical record by suggesting that white supremacist Nazis are in fact really “liberals”.

Much like with the Men’s Rights Movement it appears to be a political party based on legitimate grievances with the government and primary political options that has been hollowed out and worn as a suit by, at best, republicans who are not social-cons.

Thought experiment: how would people respond differently if they had been associated with OWS?

Excellent for exposing hypocrisy all over the place!

I’m curious to see if the people who were okay with using “enhanced interrogation techniques”, ethnic/religious profiling, and police spying on law abiding citizens when Muslims were the target demographic will still be okay with those things now that they themselves may very well “fit the description”.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that such things will now suddenly be seen as slippery slope threats to constitutionally protected rights. //

No, no, I don’t think he is. You may not realize how often you do it, but it’s pretty consistent that if it’s from or of the left you disparage, question, or otherwise attack it. If it’s extreme right you also do it, but anything left gets this.

And the most telling point is that if it’s indeterminate and you attack it, you most frequently attack it as a left-leaning issue.

So no, he’s not imagining it. If you think you should be in the middle or even moderate left, you need to rethink either your stance or your behavior.

I don’t get why you are so peevish about someone suggesting a possible reason Miller chose to sport that particular costume. Sure, lots of innocent kids dress as all sorts of horrific things for Halloween, but in this case we are looking at someone who was involved in a mass shooting wearing the same costume as another perpetrator of a mass shooting. They can decide not to let him stay, but they can’t deny they drew him like a magnet.

Reached Sunday, the rancher’s wife, Carol Bundy, said the shooting and the April standoff against the federal government were not linked.

That’s not her decision to make.

“I have not seen or heard anything from the militia and others who have came to our ranch that would, in any way, make me think they had an intent to kill or harm anyone,” Carol Bundy said.

His profile picture shows two knives and the word “PATRIOT,” using a stars and stripes motif. He wrote a great deal about the Second Amendment, calling it a “Freedom Thing.” He criticized domestic spying. He cited Patriot gun rights activist Adam Kokesh. He “liked” Three Percenter Nation, a Patriot group headed by a former Alabama militiaman; Operation “American Spring,” a failed recent Patriot attempt to mount a huge protest in Washington, D.C.; and the Alliance Defending Freedom, a radical anti-LGBT Christian organization. He also cited a series of smaller gun rights groups approvingly.

The Millers then crossed Nellis and walked to a nearby Walmart, according to investigators. They said Jerad Miller walked inside the store, fired a shot and shouted about the beginning of a revolution, telling everyone to get out of the store. They said 31-year-old Joseph Wilcox, of Las Vegas, who was carrying a concealed weapon, was inside the store and saw the commotion. They said Wilcox told his friend he was going to confront the gunman. They said Wilcox confronted Jerad Miller, and Amanda Miller walked up behind Wilcox and shot him in the ribs. Wilcox collapsed and later died.

So yes, he was trying to be that “good guy with a gun” he was told he should be by the NRA, and it got him killed.

I’m willing to concede that we don’t know if he would have been willing to confront the gunman even without having his gun on him. That’s really the key sticking point, isn’t it? If he was the type of person to confront no matter what, versus someone who only felt able to do so because he was carrying.

I expect nothing will come of this anyway. We couldn’t get any kind of regulation passed after Sandy Hook.

Apparently Red State is already trying to do that.

It’s the MO after every tragedy. “How can we use this tragedy to bitch about the left and avoid any sensible conversation about firearms?” Erickson, Hoft, the whole bloody lot of them are fucking little sissies who hide behind their guns.

Frankly when does a good guy with a gun become a bad guy with a gun and how are we supposed to know? If we looked at Elliott Rodger, say, we’d see an average looking 22 year old. We wouldn’t know about his deep rooted hatred of women and hatred towards men he felt were taking women he felt were his. I find the whole “good guy with a gun” thing distracting frankly.

Exactly. Seems like everyone is a good guy with a gun until they shoot someone else, and then they become the bad guy with a gun.

And that story is why I’m opposed to CCW and open carry, period. These are not jobs for ordinary citizens, they’re jobs for police, and telling citizens they should do this kind of thing is incredibly irresponsible.

All three of the victims were armed. Two of them were trained law enforcement.
The poor guy who got shot in Wal-Mart should have run away instead of trying to confront the shooters. Unfortunately the NRA has convinced people that a gun is a magical totem which protects your from bad people.

re: #204 Rightwingconspirator

I don’t cede the use of the term into the distortions promoted by the NRA. Then the harshest anti gun critics use it to broad brush honest folks that do have guns and maybe a CCW when some crook uses a gun in a fight or a robbery.

Every cop in or out of uniform is a good guy with a gun. Every security guard with a gun. every Brinks guy. Bad apples exist in all walks of life of course. The guy deserves the praise we reserve for brave people that step up when lives are at risk. Including those who have CCW.

The rhetoric is genuinely upsetting to us moderates. With all due respect to our kind host I don’t like seeing the poor guy tainted with the “Killed by the NRA”

I don’t know him. I think it insults him.

I’m telling you, as a friend, that I think you’re picking a bad time to take a stand on this. Emotions are raw right now.

I also don’t want to cede “Allahu Akbar” to the terrorists, but when they use it every time they blow themselves up or attack/kill someone, there’s not much I can do about it. Trying to defend it when details are still coming to light and people are upset isn’t a good idea if I want to convince anyone.

Freepers are reacting just like you’d expect:

Oh, great.

BOHICA time, I guess.

It’s almost TOO convenient.

Well Harry Reid DID say SOMETHING would happen…

…where the two bragged about being present for the standoff between militia members and the Bureau of Land Management.

Photos or they were just lying LaRouch dems.

Another lie from lamestream drive-by media.
The shooters were revolutionary leftists of the OWS sort. Without exception, all of the wanton murder sprees and assassinations (or attempted asssination) of the last 150 years has been done by a DemonRAT: Lee Harvey Oswald, James Earl Ray, Sirhan Sirhan, John Hinckley, Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, Nidal Hasan, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. The list of murderous leftists fills a book. In America’s history, there has not been a single true Conservative engaged in such violence. Why? It’s an established fact that Conservatives value life but liberals do not.

And so it begins. The Left has their talking points.

So? Dianne Feinstein had her picture taken with Jim Jones, the crazy Jim Jones of Jonestown/Guyana/poisoned koolaide/mass suicide infamy.

Does anyone blame her for the crimes that Jones later committed, including the assassination of a U.S. Congressman who travelled to Guyana to investigate the cult?

These two Vegas cop killers were booted off the Bundy property. I’m sure Harry Reid will praise the Bundy’s for their actions in giving these two the heave ho. (I don’t really need a sarcasm tag, right?)

One person actually tries to point out that the shooter wasn’t a lefty or a liberal, and that the video interview of Miller at Bundy Ranch proves he was there, but so far their posts are falling of deaf ears.

Lots of denial over at the fever swamps.
