Impressions of Jerad Miller: talkative, friendly, with political views that were all over the map: extreme libertarian/pro-Second Amendment.
Jerad Miller did not appear unhinged, did not stand out from other Bundy militia volunteers that morning. All had guns+ammo.
@Prospectus Good point. Apologies; 140 characters -> hard to explain. He rambled… said lots of things.
We spent half the morning with Jerad Miller in mid-April outside Bundy Ranch. He had an AK-47 and 9 mm Smith & Wesson.
Remember Jerad Miller telling us we live in a police state where law enforcement has too much power.
My interview with Jerad Miller in April: “I’m not afraid of death. I’m afraid of being a slave. I’m afraid of being under tyranny.”
Jerad Miller: “My call sign is Joker… If the government is going to label me a terrorist… Why not be call sign Joker.”
From our Jerad Miller interview: “There are… tons of regulations that we have to obey that they [the government] have placed on us.”
Our interview with Jerad Miller: “But they’re [government] not following the Constitution which we expect them to follow.”
Jerad Miller said he wanted to talk to reporters so people “can see we’re not just inbred, gun happy, trigger-pulling people.”
On report Bundy Ranch had kicked Miller out: most militia members not on ranch property but around road leading up to the place, anyway.
And at least in mid-April, Bundy family members welcomed Miller enough to cook him breakfast the day we were there. Not sure about later.

His call sign: “The Joker.” That's all this man with an AK-47 and 9 mm Smith & Wesson would say. Photo: pic.twitter.com/81v1sSnvmp
