[Live event concluded…]

Here’s NBC’s live feed from the Faith and Freedom conference, now featuring the dumbest man in Congress, the one and only Louie “Terror Babies” Gohmert.

UPDATE at 6/20/14 11:03:18 am by Charles Johnson

Perfect timing — as soon as I posted this, they cut off the live feed. So here are some clips via rightwingwatch.org, featuring Ted Cruz’s fanatical father and far right crackpot Gary Bauer, because I know you really want to hear what they have to say.

Well, I thought that my atheism could be one of those “discussions” to be had if a relationship was gathering steam, rather than a reason for someone to dismiss me right off the bat.

As it turned out, easing my way into being an open atheist as the relationship developed was exactly the right course, given that I’m going to be married in 29 days to a Catholic woman who always thought she’d meet and marry a nice Catholic boy.

When drones fall from the sky

washingtonpost.com

“More than 400 large U.S. military drones have crashed in major accidents around the world since 2001, a record of calamity that exposes the potential dangers of throwing open American skies to drone traffic, according to a year-long Washington Post investigation.

“Since the outbreak of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, military drones have malfunctioned in myriad ways, plummeting from the sky because of mechanical breakdowns, human error, bad weather and other reasons, according to more than 50,000 pages of accident investigation reports and other records obtained by The Post under the Freedom of Information Act.

“More than 400 large U.S. military drones crashed in major accidents worldwide between Sept. 11, 2001, and December 2013. By reviewing military investigative reports and other records, The Washinton Post was able to identify 194 drone crashes that fell into the most severe category: Class A accidents that destroyed the aircraft or caused (under current standards) at least $2 million in damage.”

Commercial drone flights are scheduled to start next year by law passed in 2012.

As it turned out, easing my way into being an open atheist as the relationship developed was exactly the right course, given that I’m going to be married in 29 days to a Catholic woman who always thought she’d meet and marry a nice Catholic boy.

The Obamas know they are in a privileged position at this point and don’t want it going to their daughters’ heads.

You can’t appreciate the struggles of others unless you walk at least a little bit in their shoes philosophy. One which I embrace.
