I wish I had time to watch this right now. Really just stopped buy to check-in.

How is it now?

In my world, temperature up, humidity down. I think it might rain.

Allergies still suck ass.

90+ in Austin, and humid.

Mexico lost it’s cool and lost the match to the assassins from Amsterdam.

Not-so-hilarious short film: the clear and obvious dive that cost Mexico the match:

What crap. I hope the Netherlands get screwed in their next match the exact same way.

This week, the trailer for the latest installment in the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay, was released. As I was watching this trailer, something really struck me: the themes touched on in this film are essentially the endgame of today’s American liberalism. An all-controlling Big Government that forces unity, prosperity; it’s government that calls on you to sacrifice for the greater good. I am not suggesting that today’s Democrat Party will lead us literally to the

re: #37 Rev_Arthur_Belling

Dude stepped on his foot. Isn’t that a foul?

It was stupid challenge, late in the game with the score tied. I was watching the game with a bunch of Mexico fans and they were mad at Marquez, not the ref. That penalty call is going to be made by every referee in the world, every time. It was a damn shame, too. El Tri played extraordinary football for 87 minutes.

So don’t blame the ref and certainly don’t blame Arjen Robben, who was easily Man of the Match. His running was brilliant and his corners were decisive. Any goaltender besides Ochoa would have had three behind him on the corners alone. That young man is going to very rich, very soon.

re: #58 austin_blue

El Tri played extraordinary football for 87 minutes.

Small quibble!!

El Tri played extraordinary football for 45 minutes.

They went into somewhat of a shell for the 2nd half instead of keeping the pressure on. Mexico SHOULD have been up at least 2 nil at that point. Then they could have backed off some.

Any goaltender besides Ochoa would have three behind him on the corners alone. That young man is going to very rich, very soon.

Absolutely. He made several saves before the penalty that could easily have resulted in the Dutch being UP 3 or 4 -1 BEFORE that penalty, and it WAS a penalty

Well, this observation - “All this being said, if you take a look at Putin’s lifestyle choices, one thing becomes clear very quickly: he is the ultimate bro” - is spot on, even if not quite in the sense the author intended. If you look at the slang and the expressions Putin uses (which are hard to translate faithfully), as well as his photo-op activities, he’s your next-door-“dudebro”, who has a simple view of the world, who is not above taking a mobile phone from some wimpy kid and who loves to show off his “masculinity” (as he sees it).

This is part of the reason why I think Boehner’s gonna have such a hard time arguing in court that his “lawsuit” has any merit, that he and the rest of his party had no problem with a “monarch” when it was C Plus Augustus in the White House. They loved a guy who actually said “I’m a decider, not a divider” without a hint of irony. And were ready to follow a guy who won by 51% of the popular because it was a “mandate.”

It would be a complete waste of time to take someone like that on in any debate about fixes for the Nation’s issues. They already have their idea of who Obama is and what he does and there will be no variance from those set ideas.

That is the whole thing that is stupid about stuff like twitter wars. There will be very little changes in views. It’s all just flinging crap at each other to be all in each other’s faces.

I swear much of this countries discourse now comes from reality TV. That is the new learned behavior. To some degree tweet is the same smack, in-your-face, I’m a badass acting out. They sure as hell don’t want to learn anything.

All the above is in my opinion. I sure as hell don’t see a lot of good in much of the political banter these days. Just more tools for bad behavior.

Rachel Maddow is right: John Boehner is terrible at being Speaker of the House. He also is apparently incapable of embarrassment.

Considering the response it’s received by wingnuts, it’s having exactly the effect desired, namely getting them convinced that Boehner and Republicans are getting “tough” on the White House and finally “holding them accountable.” Of course, reach such conclusions, you have to totally ignore that Boehner hasn’t even filed suit yet, not put down on paper what he’s accusing the White House of doing, and that this has the real danger of handcuffing them if a Republican should win in 2016 but a court rules that anything short of strict adherence to the law is an impeachable offense.

…cut…

Rachel Maddow is right: John Boehner is terrible at being Speaker of the House. He also is apparently incapable of embarrassment.

I swear, with the ratings the Republicans get, even from the Republican base, Boehner and the boys must currently be handsomely paid by…or promises of big paydays later from the people many of us suspect runs the GOP.

They sure as hell aren’t representing many Americans below a certain stature of power and money.

It’s either:

a. You have too many cars

or

b. You need a bigger garage

a. there are three drivers in the household

((but truth be told, we own 5 cars,,,, 1 each for the three of us. I also have an old beater I use for going back and forth to work keeping the miles and wear and tear off my “newer” one, and I also have a classic car))

b. We have a two car garage but because Mrs Satty likes to ,,, um,,,,, keep things only one vehicle can fit, so we keep the newest one there

So in Rifle, CO there’s a new restaurant called “Shooters” and the owners let their workers pack heat and merrily encourage its patrons to bring guns into their establishment.
