Eric Holder Criticizes Palin’s Impeachment Babble, Breitbart Commenters Spew Hatred and Racism

“I’ll admit I am way more racist than I was 5 years ago”

In an interview with ABC News, Eric Holder had some words of truth about half-governor Sarah Palin and her ludicrous calls for impeaching President Obama.

Asked about calls by Sarah Palin to impeach Obama over the administration’s immigration policies, Holder said: “She wasn’t a particularly good vice presidential candidate. She’s an even worse judge of who ought to be impeached and why.”

In the clip from This Week shown above, the irony is off the scale as Bill Kristol — who may be the man most responsible for bringing Sarah Palin onto the national stage — agrees that the impeachment talk is empty rhetoric.

Kristol also says impeachment talk makes Republicans “look extreme.”

Really now? The sad fact is that the Republican base is so extreme these days that every single right wing media site is overrun with racist comments calling for impeachment — and much worse. It’s very common these days to see right wing commenters calling outright for the murder of public officials and even the president.

For example, here’s a selection of comments posted at Breitbart “News” today about this statement from Eric Holder:

Holder has absolutely no credibility, he doesn’t enforce the law and should be impeached or arrested too, he protects and carries out Obama’s foul agenda.

[…]

We’re beyond impeachment. Elections are a fraud. We need to remove the entire Obama admin and reset USA government back to its original design. We need a group of brave USA generals to step up and take out the Obama admin thru military coup. I don’t want Biden for president. I don’t want Romney for president. I want a REAL American that will undo all the garbage that has been added to the original intent of the USA government.

[…]

May Holder and friends burn in that place way down under beyond under

[…]

Holder, like the typical pathologically lying, criminal and borderline psychotic homosexual or bisexual, immediately reverts to projection and prevarication.

[…]

Holder and Obama will start killing people before this is over. That is what leftists do historically.

[…]

Historically, leftists should be completely annihilated if they bring arms against the normal heterosexual population. After fifty years of playing the victim, they are still criminal and borderline psychotic.

[…]

Historically, leftists should be completely annihilated if they bring arms against the normal heterosexual population. After fifty years of playing the victim, they are still criminal and borderline psychotic.

[…]

He looks like a rat gnawing on rotten cheese

[…]

He should be facing a firing squad for crimes against America.

[…]

Hey Holder….On her worst day, Sarah Palin could wrap rings around your worthless, criminal, anti-American mulatto a$$, so shut the eff up!

[…]

This maggot talks about racism, yet he is as racist as racists come.

[…]

Look Who the Pot’s calin the Kettle Black… LOL

[…]

Well, I’ll admit I am way more racist than I was 5 years ago.

And Kristol thinks Sarah Palin makes the Republican Party look extreme?

Impeachment talk doesn’t make Republicans sound extreme, it makes them sound stupid. It also makes them sound like cowards because they never follow through.

Refusing to govern because a black Democrat won fair and square twice was fairly stupid, too.

7 blueraven  Jul 13, 2014 12:02:05pm

These people have a sickness, a disease; probably in the genes but exacerbated by the election of the first black president and the fact that he is a democrat.

They have to bash him at every opportunity, declare him inept, not worthy, a traitor to “American Values”. If they don’t knock him down at every opportunity they have to admit the previous admin was a colossal failure. That most of the problems we face today were brought on by the policies of Bush/Cheney.

The financial meltdown
The Iraq war and all the fail (not to mention, no reason for it)
total mishandling of invasion/aftermath
Torture
Abu Ghraib
Guantanamo
Katrina

to name a few

Obama has not been perfect by any means, but it would take 20+ years of major fuck-ups to begin to equal the damage the last admin inflicted upon us.

Sarah Palin and fans know this. They lie and distort and try to pretend that in some alternate reality Obama has been worse.
These people are sick.

Palin, and for that matter most batshit crazy people, crave attention. The response to them saying crazy stuff is to put a microphone in front of them to hear more crazy stuff. They in turn take that as an indication that they have something important to say.

This correlates with the problem of false balance in media: crazy and extreme rhetoric is over amplified in comparison to non-crazy and more mundane rhetoric, thereby creating a false balance between the extreme and the more rational.

Palin and a huge number of actual elected officials belong on the street corner carrying signs and being ignored for their insane nuttery, not put on TV on actual ‘news’ shows as if they have something compelling to say. Holder responding to her will only give them the attention they crave. At least Holder responded properly by calling like it is, if tactful and polite. He’s exactly right: she wasn’t a good candidate and is in no position to make decisions on impeachment.

This is why we cannot have nice things.

Claiming that talk of impeachment makes the GOP look extreme is of a kind with claiming that those jeans you wore last weekend made your ass look big. It’s not the jeans, it’s your fat ass. It’s not the talk of impeachment, it’s all the OTHER incredibly racist and ignorant bullshit.

20 Unabogie  Jul 13, 2014 12:23:17pm

re: #16 Ryan King

Even the imagery in that is over the top. So Obama is being sued because…the employer mandate will be phased in a year later? And for this transgression (implementing a law that Republicans hate — too slowly) is the same thing as casting a dark shadow over the Constitution? Obama said it well years ago. If these Republicans don’t stop using this insane, extreme language to describe every policy disagreement with Obama, then they will paint themselves in a corner when it’s time to actually work together on something important. And he was right, and we’re living in the dysfunction the GOP created.

They’ve had ample opportunity to dial things back a bit, but they just keep turning the volume up instead.

The French really don’t like talking too much about the Vichy Era and Petain and the assorted collaborationists with the Nazis; I found the book to be a good read and a good general history on that era that I’m sure the French would much rather forget.

Still……a part of history. Just like Czechs really don’t like talking about their own collaborationists with the Nazis during the Protectorate Era, and there were quite a few. The Czechs like to think that the entirety of the population was involved in the resistance to Nazi rule, but when you start reading up on it, you’ll find otherwise….and it wasn’t just ethnic Germans who collaborated, either.

Having a difficult time sorting out my feelings about what’s happening in Israel and Gaza.

The lines were much clearer when Palestinian terrorists were launching suicide bombings against school buses in Israel. Launching missiles against random civilian targets is horrific, but not on the same level - because they’re almost completely ineffective. And yes, Israel has a right to defend itself against this kind of terrorism.

But the death toll in Gaza is so disproportionate that I’m having a really hard time trying to justify it. Yes, Hamas is a terrorist group who deliberately hide weapons in civilian areas. But in effect, this is a captive population — there really aren’t any other places for people to go. Hamas has to bear some of the responsibility for the death toll, but children are being killed in large numbers by this Israeli operation and just on a human level I find this very very hard to support.

Also, the Netanyahu administration has not really been seeking a solution to any of the problems, or working toward a two-state solution. They’ve been encouraging and approving new settlements in the West Bank on a regular basis, and deliberately interfering in US politics, backing Mitt Romney and trying to subvert the Obama administration’s efforts to mediate.

And then there’s the growing popularity of far right groups and personalities in Israeli politics, including some of the hateful groups and people I’ve been speaking out against for years.

Anyway, I’m rambling a bit, but if you’re wondering why I haven’t really stepped into this mess very much, these are some of the reasons.

Maestro Lorin Maazel dead at 84

(CNN) — Renowned conductor Lorin Maazel died from complications of pneumonia at his home in Virginia on Sunday, his family said. He was 84.
Maazel conducted more than 150 orchestras in at least 5,000 opera and concert performances during his career, beginning when he was just 8, according to his official biography.
Maazel remained active as a conductor in his last year, leading 111 concerts from Oman to Munich, Germany, in 2013, the bio said. He announced last month that his health had forced him to cut back on his public engagements.

Oh, there was a reason for it.

The reason was to send this message to the world, “The U.S. goes where it wants when it wants to do what it wants to whoever it wants. This is what happens to people who get in our way.

You may hate so long as you also fear.”

Iraq was meant to be the beginning of the Pax Americana, where America ruled the world for the rest of forever.

The idea that the free market is a pure and holy thing is almost as funny as voluntaryism

While free marketers profess to revere and follow the teachings of Adam Smith, they conveniently forget how carefully he articulated the reasons that perfect markets do not occur naturally and that the State must regulate in order to quell the pernicious effects of things like monopolies, the tragedy of the commons and various externalities.

They have decided that the “invisible hand” is in essence the working of G-d.
