Sgt. Bergdahl Returns to Army Duty, Fox News Goes Full Benghazi

Fox News, keeping wingnut dolts angry
US News • Views: 22,345

We have news today about Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier who was released by the Taliban after five years in captivity, setting off a right wing freakout that dwarfed all previous right wing freakouts: Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl Is Back on Regular Army Duty in Texas.

Six weeks after his release from Taliban captivity, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been returned to regular duty, the U.S. Army announced Monday.

In a brief statement, Army officials said Bergdahl had “completed the final phase of the reintegration process” and will be assigned to a base in Texas, where he has been recovering for the last month.

This development has sent Fox News’ show for complete idiots, Fox & Friends, into a psychotic break with reality, claiming that Bergdahl is being threatened into silence by the sinister Barack Obama. And also, inevitably, BENGHAZI.

But remember, only the “Real Americans” at Fox News really support the troops.

Fox host and their viewers have to be the dumbest people on the planet. Not so much the host they know what they are doing, but the viewers are for believing such garbage, All the Fox propaganda and brainwashing has worked.

From the link:

But then, right at the end, Steve Doocy got jiggy with it, and somehow managed to turn Bergdahl (and Lois Lerner?) into a martyred whistleblower, threatened into silence by the evil Barack Obama:

“As long as he has not been court-martialed, and hasn’t been released, he can’t do interviews. So, we really won’t hear that side of the story, as has been the case with this administration in the past, whether it’s Lois Lerner, or whether it’s the Benghazi people. Threaten them. Don’t let them talk.”

OMG…Obamathug threatened the Benghazi people!!!1 PROOF! Is there no low he won’t stoop to? ////

Also from the link:

Fill-in Clayton Morris began by informing Fox viewers that Bergdahl was traded for “five Taliban leaders who were sent right back, basically to the battlefield,” which is, basically, a total lie, but this is Fox and Friends, so that’s hardly remarkable.

Yup, “basically”, except, you know, not.

And even if they were back on the battlefield we could just DRONES!!!1

I must of missed something. What’s the ‘pink slip’ reference all about?

8 darthstar  Jul 14, 2014 1:14:18pm

I think Fox was hoping he’d be returned to captivity so they could cry “Free Bowe!” again.

9 KerFuFFler  Jul 14, 2014 1:18:49pm

I hope Bergdahl is safe in San Antonio! There is so much extreme right wing sentiment in Texas that I worry some jerks may try to harm him.

Actually, Fox News itself (of course):

With Iraq over, and Afghanistan winding down to the finish everyone should be happy that we are able to reduce our military forces and return them to civilian life.

Air Force Announces Changes to Headquarters Organization

Air Force leaders announced changes to headquarters staff manning and organization today.
The Air Force will create efficiencies by deactivating and realigning organizations at headquarters Air Force, major commands (MAJCOMs), numbered air forces and field operating agencies, resulting in savings of $1.6 billion across the Air Force in the next five years.
“I will work to ensure the world’s best Air Force is the most capable at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayer,” said Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James. “Everyone knows our economy is still not where it should be; we have a responsibility to ensure that every dollar adds value to the taxpayers and our national defense.”
The changes are a result of a comprehensive effort to reduce overhead costs, increase efficiencies, eliminate redundant activities and improve effectiveness and business processes (also known as Air Force Management Headquarters Review). The efficiencies created through the reorganization will also help meet the Department of Defense’s directive to reduce costs and staff levels by at least 20 percent, eliminating 3,459 positions at headquarters across the Air Force, both in country and at overseas locations. As part of ongoing cost savings initiatives, the Air Force will also continue to reduce contract spending, operating budgets and travel expenditures.
To minimize the effect on civilian personnel, the Air Force will initiate Voluntary Early Retirement Authority programs and Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay to foster voluntary reductions before pursuing involuntary measures. As part of ongoing efforts to responsibly shape the force, military members were offered a variety of voluntary incentive programs.
“We are aggressively pursuing reductions within the first year, rather than spread them out over five years as allowed by DoD,” said James. “It’s better for airmen because it provides them predictability and allows us to re-stabilize our workforce sooner. It also allows us to harvest the savings earlier so that we can plow it back into readiness and some of our key modernization programs.”
The Air Force’s goal is to go beyond the 20 percent reduction mandated by the DoD so any additional savings can be achieved from staff functions above the wing level, and set to provide additional combat capability to the combatant commanders.

re: #36 JackBurton

Hey now, Fox is “just asking questions.”

The question they need to ask is “Why is the GOP so out of touch with the majority of Americans”. Maybe that the GOP panders to the needs of the 1% might be a good pace for them to start to find an answer to that question.

Because I’m not scared of everything I’m irresponsible and more than likely, according to these buffoons, a bad mom.

So um, how many stories have there been in the last year of some little kid getting hold of Responsible Mom or Dad’s gun and killing a sibling, themselves or someone else? Can she not read? I have to assume she does, since she’s twittering all over herself. Maybe not a good reader, but I assume she has a basic grasp of most words. Kids and guns aren’t a good mix UNLESS there’s a smart and responsible adult teaching them safety. And even then, before about age 10, kids and guns should be a huge “Oh Hell NO”. And a gun safe in the house, and trigger locks. And whatever else a person can do safety wise.

God these people are just damned DUMB.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin and live here now. I know Minnesota nice. I also know Wisconsin nice, and Texas nice. I’ll take St. Paul, and it’s St Paul Saints, and the German bar/restaurant(can’t remember the name) in the neighborhood near the stadium anyday over what the hell has been brewing here in Wisconsin.

I thought I had escaped the right-wing noise machine when I finally crossed the Oklahoma border in a U-Haul back in ‘06. Nope, it’s actually just as loud here.

I’m not sure if this is by the Saints stadium(I had it mixed up with the Wild), but if I were to move to the Twin Cities, this is the neighborhood I would love to live in.

re: #60 alpuz

MN was really very lucky when we just barely dodged having Emmer as our governor. He would have given Walker a run for the money. I hope WI can get rid of Walker in the next election. My sister moved from Mpls. to near Appleton after she got married and she doesn’t deserve to be stuck in a conservative WI.

The Glockenspiel is about four blocks from my house in the West 7th neighborhood. It’s about a mile from the Wild’s home. The Saints are getting a new stadium on the east side of downtown, which is going to be a mess for the people who live near there, but there are a lot of great restaruants in that neighborhood too.
