Fox News Host Todd Starnes Reacts to Malaysia Airlines Crash by Making Sick Jokes About Obama

What the hell is wrong with the right?
Wingnuts • Views: 30,446

I thought we should have a record of how a Fox News host who claims to be a traditional Christian, espousing traditional family values, reacts to the news that Malaysia Airlines passenger jet with 295 people aboard has possibly been shot down by Ukrainian separatists: with sick, disgusting jokes about President Obama.

Family values, brought to you by Fox News.

kind of makes you wonder how in the fuck the Village Media is going to spin this into being good news for the GOP… you have asshats like Starnes making sure that we stay compassionate to the loss of human life in the GOP zero sum game of international diplomacy and his fellow nimrods exploiting the transfer of women and children to centers for their hearings to determine if they can even stay in the US as some sort of morals crime based on the tenets of Christian compassion…. jaysus when did all of these folks turn into Lee J. The answer to that is no. No they simply cannot stop themselves. It’s a compulsion. Every. Fucking. Thing. is political to these freaks. From the brand of peanut butter they think the President likes to, well hell, anything. Organic gardens are suspicious, getting kids to exercise and spend time outside is a plot to ruin us all, even a plane crash on the other side of the world is part of some evil, sinister, heinous plan to ruin the whole world so that Obama can be World Dictator Forever.

In a saner place and time, most of these people would be seeing mental health professionals of some sort, probably at the urging of family members. Now? They flock to Twitter and let their illness take over. It’s not at all healthy. I know this because healthy, happy and well adjusted people do NOT DO SHIT LIKE THIS, especially day in and day out.

Given what’s happened in the past with these types of incidents it’s usually brushed off as an accident or “we simply didn’t know” scenarios. They’ll claim they thought it was a military aircraft. We’ll see though. First step is determining how the aircraft went down. Right now it’s all still technically hearsay.

Sure, there will be a very thorough investigation, but pro-Russian separatists shot down a commercial airliner thinking it was a Ukrainian AN-26 with an advanced medium-range SAM they almost certainly got from Russia. What’s changed with today is that the violent thugs that run the pro-Russian militias are now clearly a threat to other nations besides Ukraine.

It seems that the Russian propaganda mills haven’t got their marching orders yet; they’re either denying things that nobody alleges (like a Russian aircraft shot down the airliner), or passing on denials that the separatists had a BUK launcher. It’s going to depend on whether Putin thinks he’s had enough of these fools, or whether he’s going to keep handing matches to little children on his doorstep.

Lets be clear. There were 23 Americans with tickets for the plane. Until its confirmed they all boarded and went down with the plane, their status is unknown for now.

Minimally trained people with high power weaponry. What could go wrong?

You could end up with Texas?

48-hour rule, etc., etc. It’s all going to get complicated due to the Russian desire to cover up anything that points to them shooting it down.

It’s portable in the civilian sense of the world - you can actually move it. By the military sense of the word as it generally applies to SAMs, no.

“Mobile” is a better word, perhaps.

And with that, the conspiracy theorists are going to be off to the races. That is more than enough evidence to prove, in some mentally unhinged person’s mind, that it was intentionally flown into a missile.

I’m sure we have already checked satellite imagery for any clues to what happened. News correspondents were also pretty quick in reaching the scene and may have inadvertently photographed something useful for investigators.

Grr… the boarder crisis is you scum not wanting to help a bunch of child refugees. (spit)

Yeah. Wonder what they would think of me if their children came to my house because they were being threatened with death at home, and I shot them.

re: #129 Mike Lamb

McCain is clearly a war monger, but he’s not altogether wrong here. The potential that pro-Russian separatists downing a plane with 23 Americans on board is a BFD. Pressure to do something, anything, beyond sanctions will be intense. It’s going to be a bumpy few days/weeks.

On this one, I can’t entirely disagree with McCain. There will indeed be hell to pay, especially now that 23 American civilians were killed.

I hope that the black boxes are recovered. Though I’m sure there are parties (who unfortunately will have initial access to the site) that probably wish them never to see the light of day.

The Russian “separatists” already have them, I bet. And they are in their way to the Kremlin.

Can black boxes be edited in any way? I have no clue.

Yes, but not necessarily what McCain has in mind.

re: #128 NJDhockeyfan

Creepy, but not indicative of anything. They were probably making a joke about the other Malaysian Airlines plane that went missing.

I had this discussion with a friend today. We had a conversation earlier in the week wondering what it would take for someone to snap and take a shot at one of the Supreme Court justices, with their judicial activism and all. I said something along the lines of “If one of them was going to be assassinated, I bet it’d be Scalia.”

Now, if two or three days later Scalia had actually been shot at, I could expect a visit from the Secret Service (and even more so now that I’m posting about it on the internet :P) but it doesn’t mean that I have any insider knowledge about the plot or am part of any conspiracy.

That’s where the conspiracy theorist has a problem; they’re good at making connections between arbitrary facts. And the chaos that is modern journalism—print first, verify facts later—means plenty of fertile ground. Corrections become “coverups”, witnesses who clarify their stories have been “gotten to”, etc.

Todd the Gimp. Nothing new, though for a journalist who covers mainly religious issues, you’d think………well, perhaps not.
