Voter apathy is a huge problem in the United States, and this year it’s an especially critical issue; the Republican Party has gone completely off the rails into non-stop obstructionism, with an agenda set by the reactionary religious right and the deeply destructive far right forces of the Tea Party.

I confess I don’t have any great ideas on how to overcome the apathy problem, but here’s one small thing I can do — present Michelle Obama’s video plea to get out the vote in 2014.

You may not think things can get much worse in our broken political system, but if the GOP gains control of the Senate this year all bets are off.

I thank God things are no where near as bad in the U.K,. My sympathies for Americans that gotta deal with these bat shit crazy lunatic Republicans, and here’s hoping they get their collective asses handed to them in future elections.

Also, cue the barrage of racism from the right any moment now.

i heard fox news was taken to court for lying on a newscast but the case was thrown out since it isn’t illegal in the u.s. to lie on the news

Apparently Lil Kim is very upset with a new movie coming out this fall. Must be why he’s threatening the US. The plot is 2 friends are recruited to assassinate Kim Jong-Un. I might go see that one. The trailer looks pretty good.

Agreed! Michelle is such a class act that I think more highly of the President for having married her.

The grotesque hatefest for the FLOTUS from the right wing tells me about as much about them as I need to know.

We’ve got it here, but it is generally offered as part of a higher tier cable/satellite package and isn’t that heavily subscribed. The red in the picture is for a channel available, but not subscribed to. SUN-TV is our version of FOX, and it gets ratings slightly better than a test pattern. It has news (read: talking points) from 9-5 weekdays, talk shows (read: more talking points) from 5-9, and then these are repeated during the other times. I watched about 30 seconds of it last week, and seeing Robert Spencer as an expert on Islam had me reaching for the remote.
