MS Attorney General Says Blogger Chuck C. Johnson Paid a Pastor to Lie About Thad Cochran

Pay-to-lie scheme exposed

Today in Mississippi, Attorney General Jim Hood told the Clarion-Ledger that his office is investigating “political blogger” Charles C. Johnson (who is NOT ME), after a self-proclaimed pastor admitted to the AG’s office that he was paid by Johnson to lie about participating in a vote-buying scheme.

Right wing hatchet man Charles C. Johnson

Hood said he wasn’t sure of the blogger’s name but that he was the one who posted a video. When asked if it was Charles C. Johnson of GotNews.com, Hood said he believed it was.

Hood said Stevie Fielder claims he was paid $2,000 to lie on a recording where the Meridian man said campaign staffers with U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran asked him to pay people to vote for the incumbent. Fielder told Hood’s office he was not asked to do that and had not done that.

Fielder later recanted most of what he told Johnson and what Johnson reported on GotNews.com.

According to Hood, Fielder says he was told what to say by the political blogger and others involved in recording the video.

Maybe now that he’s being relentlessly exposed as a dishonest hack, people will stop paying attention to this buffoon, and I can take a rest from pointing out that Charles C. Johnson is NOT ME.

(But knowing how the right wing echo chamber works, this will probably just boost his credibility in that closed system.)

Well, since he’s an award winning journalist, by his own repeated admission, that makes him a public figure, so the bar is pretty high now. ahhh… makes me smile

I’m sure that he probably will contact his lawyer if he hasn’t already. And his lawyer will probably tell him to shut up already that this isn’t going anywhere.

But there’s always someone with questionable ethics and skills who would take him up on this, even though there’s little chance of success (Orly Taitz comes to mind).

48 b_sharp  Jul 30, 2014 1:19:54pm

From downstairs, posted before you all ran away.

Some very important Twitter ammo.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this but Gohmert pulled a bait and switch by initially talking about the children and then went on about illegal immigrants in general. He also played the false dilemma card by claiming the immigrants can’t be fleeing gang violence because the gangs are the ones transporting them to and across the border.

Gohmert, you tool, it can and is both.

He also played games with the Texas stats by not including years previous to Obama. Typical cherry picking.

Crime, including rapes has gone down in Texas since 2008 with a little bump up in 2009.

When my 1200 broke and I didn’t have the money for a replacement, I used a 300 baud accoustic coupled model like this Image: apple_apple2_acoustic-coupler_1.jpg for a couple of months. Then I did some work in exchange for a 2400 baud modem and my phone bill was grateful.

It was so awful back then. I started coding in 1997—right smack in the middle of the browser wars. My first corporate job in that capacity was in 2000. Flash was BIG then; we used CSS, but not for layout; DHTML was buggy and/or a PITA because of differences DOM, JavaScript, and JScript implementations. Not only were the table-based layouts a PITA, but the interfaces tended to be graphics heavy with all the bits & pieces being sliced up in Photoshop and placed in nested tables. If a client wanted to change something… UGH. It gives me a headache just thinking about it now.

Give this man a knighthood already:

An Unlikely Hero Blooms in Ibiza: Orlando Bloom Sort of Punches Justin Bieber

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Orlando Bloom valiantly succeeded where the Miami police force, the Canadian government, and the Obama administration have previously failed, managing to finally hold Justin Bieber accountable and punish him accordingly. Kind of.

On this fateful morning, Bloom took a quick break from unsuccessfully playing a 16-year-old in his Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet to successfully act like a hormonal, jealous teen, engaging Justin Bieber in a round of fisticuffs at the Cipriani restaurant in Ibiza (obviously). Bloom hasn’t played a role this convincingly since…well, ever. Plus, it must be a relief to the aging actor that he can still make girls around the world scream and go crazy without even putting on his Legolas weave. While this Bieber reckoning has been a long time coming, the fact the Bloom ended up being the man to administer the beating makes this story as strange and unexpected as it is straight up awesome.

Heh.

My first Digital camera. Got me published and well paid for the first time as a photographer. I still have it, still works fine. I think I shot my first magazine cover with it, but that might have been my 40D.

The Canon D30 circa 2001
dpreview.com

Long awaited. Canon first revealed the EOS-D30 at PMA this year (with a “tentative launch of Fall 2000”), they then later made it official and published full specifications and we got our first hands on with the D30, though at that stage Canon weren’t comfortable enough with the image quality to allow samples to be published. In August we published an exclusive preview article with the first large set of samples available on the web.

So why is the D30 so special? Lots of reasons, it’s Canon’s first “home grown” digital SLR, built from the ground up to be a digital SLR, their previous forays into the digital SLR world, the EOS-D2000 and EOS-D6000 were joint ventures with Kodak (Canon bodies with Kodak internals), these cameras are also known as the DCS520 and DCS560.

The D30 comes fully loaded, filled with features and functionality you’d expect of a camera teetering on the edge of wearing a “Pro” badge (and probably more deserving than some of those that do), add to this the fact that Canon threw a curved ball by using the first ever multi-megapixel CMOS sensor to be seen in a production camera and you can see why the EOS-D30 is significant.

The other thing that makes the EOS-D30 special is that it (like the Fujifilm S1 Pro) is helping to open up the “prosumer digital SLR” market, the retail $3,000 may not be considered cheap, but there are considerable numbers of non professionals who can afford (and no doubt will buy) the EOS-D30.

Kansas City, Mo. (CBS ST. LOUIS/AP) - President Barack Obama responded to a heckler in Kansas City on Wednesday, with Obama responding to the woman yelling, “Jesus is the Lord of Israel.”

“I’m sorry what you hollering about?” Obama asks the woman, as the crowd noise picks up to drown her out. He then casually replied, “I believe in God. Thanks for the prayer. Amen. Thank you.”

You know though, I used to think the hatred on Bieber was a little silly. Had no love for his music or whatever but thought people were getting way too upset by a teenage kid- my more adult reaction compared with my adolescent reaction to the boy band craze of the late 90’s and early 00’s in which case the guys ended up being likable dudes ala Timberlake. But Bieber’s a little jerk.

I felt like a salmon fighting his way upstream. Try being new to computer graphic arts and on Windows. I think that sounds worse than it is. If you think about it, having dark-adjusted eyes is a significant advantage, so if you can train yourself to aim, then close your eyes for an instant while firing to avoid being dazzled by the muzzle flash, all while still hitting the target, it’s advantageous.

What’s nuts is the paranoia that makes you think it’s such a likely thing to happen to the average person that you need to prepare for it.

Right. This is a humanitarian crisis that, due to the hysteria over the whole subject of immigration, doesn’t make the US look good. I’m sure freedom loving people around the world notice. We have the capacity to deal with the people humanely but our political system is so dysfunctional we are paralyzed to a degree. All the nastiness the TPGOP engages in must be fun and all for them. It could be real dangerous for the rest us if we really needed to come together quickly for a large crisis.

I like shooting. I want to own a gun or guns for sport/target shooting. But I am sick and fucking tired of waking up every day wondering if a cop is going to get shot, or if kids are going to get shot, or if some dumbass is going to shoot up his family or his workplace. I just can’t do it anymore. If it means I don’t get to keep a gun that I can take out on the farm and shoot at my leisure, well, I’m getting to the point where I just might be able to deal with that.

So Sarah’s arguing to keep impeachment on the table because of liberals hating the GOP. Really Sarah, you should go back to grade school because you clearly don’t understand why presidents get impeached. See, there’s this part of the Constitution where it says high crimes and misdemeanors. It does not say because Rush Limbaugh said so. Honestly it is you who has been doing the hate to Obama not the other way around. He pushed a health care plan that your party in the 90’s pushed and even your 2012 nominee got passed but because people like you are so consumed with hatred they rejected it not out of real principle but out of hate.

Sarah can’t understand you. You put words next to each other in a way that makes sense.

86 yr old man witnesses armed robbery, prevented others from going into business. All good, but then chased the suspect and started shooting in crowded urban area. I’m fine with that, I just really think some charges would be appropriate, make it legal to disarm the guy and hold a suspended sentence or informal probation over him. Fortunately it’s not always a bad end. Just recently a CCW holder really did help the police catch a very bad guy who had been armed and ditched the gun.. The video has the part about armed neighbors helping but not in the write up.
